Chapter 236 Cooperation is not important, you are the most important
"I just came out to get my clothes!" Sarah said in a panic and turned around, ready to grab her clothes and run away.
Due to her haste, her slippers, which had just been washed, were still wet. Her feet slipped, and her whole body tilted forward.
Instinctively, she tried to protect her important parts from being hurt with her hands, obviously ignoring the fact that she was only wrapped in a towel.
With a loud noise, the towel slipped off.
Seeing her fall, Antonio quickly caught her.
In the next second, Antonio's whole body suddenly froze. His deep, bottomless eyes shrank as they imprinted her snow-white skin in their pupils.
“Are you… trying to seduce me?"
Antonio's voice instantly turned hoarse, and he held her tightly with his strong arms, pressing her against him, a hint of heat flickering in his eyes.
Sarah’s fair skin also blushed slightly.
"It's an accident!" she explained, a bit forced, but her voice was like a feather brushing against Antonio's heart, making him feel uncomfortable all over.
In the next second, his big hand directly held the back of Sarah's head, and his thin lips invaded hers. She wanted to say something, but his gentle yet domineering attack completely swallowed her words. The more intimate they became, the more Antonio struggled to restrain himself, his breathing becoming heavier.
Realizing that things would get out of control if they continued like this, Sarah twisted his waist hard.
Antonio, in pain, loosened the hand that held her, and she quickly slipped out of his embrace and ran away with her clothes.
Looking at his empty arms, Antonio bitterly smiled and pursed his lips, and the fire in his eyes was not extinguished. He couldn't help but bite his lower lip.
Sarah hurriedly rushed back to the bathroom and changed her clothes, her heart thudding uncontrollably.
When she came out, her eyes automatically searched for Antonio's figure. Seeing that he wasn't in the room, she felt a slight relief in her heart.
She sat on the bed and sighed in relief, but the image of Antonio holding and kissing her just now still lingered in her mind. It felt as if the ground she had stepped on was still slightly warm.
Suddenly, the French windows connecting the room and the balcony were opened, and Antonio walked in after stubbing out his cigarette outside. From his appearance, he must have just smoked a cigarette on the balcony by himself, and both knew why.
She awkwardly looked away and remained silent, while Antonio didn't speak either.
There seemed to be a subtle, lingering ambiguity in the air. Antonio lowered his gaze and looked at Sarah, who still refused to acknowledge him, and noticed a slightly blushing shyness on her face that wasn't there before. They understood each other without saying a word.
…
After they both got ready the next day, Antonio drove with Sarah to the business meeting. They arrived at the predetermined location together, the Donghuang Restaurant in Yancheng.
The owner, Ye Ming, was already waiting at the door personally.
When Ye Ming saw Antonio, he excitedly rubbed his hands together and went forward to greet him.
"Mr. Valencia, I heard that you were coming, so I specifically asked the chef to prepare the most authentic dishes from Yancheng. We've been waiting for your arrival!"
Sarah also approached friendly and greeted them.
"Hello, Mr. Ye."
Ye Ming's eyes suddenly lit up as he spoke, and he turned to her with special courtesy.
"This must be Mr. Valencia's new assistant, right? I've heard about you. Today, everyone should feel at home. If there's anything you'd like to eat, just let us know. If you want to go somewhere or have any questions, feel free to ask me."
While speaking, Ye Ming led them to a private room inside. All the way, Antonio remained indifferent. But Ye Ming treated her exceptionally well, in stark contrast to the sleazy boss they met on their last business outing with Antonio. Ye Ming's attitude was completely different.
After the group was seated, Ye Ming considerately ordered hot milk for her and didn't even offer her any alcohol.
"Mr. Valencia, you came all the way here, and it surprises me. A phone call would have sufficed. We've been collaborating with Valencia Inc. for so long. Why would you still worry about such trivial matters!”
Upon hearing his words, Sarah's eyebrows furrowed. Just a phone call? It seemed that the collaboration between the Ye family and Valencia Inc. was already set in stone. Then why did Antonio have to travel here? She felt that something wasn't quite right but couldn’t guess what exactly was going on in Ye Ming's mind at that moment.
Afraid that there might be issues with their collaboration due to Antonio's sudden visit, Ye Ming had already investigated and tried various ways to please Antonio and his accompanying assistant, Sarah.
Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the relationship between the new assistant and Antonio was more significant than anticipated.
Antonio glanced at Sarah and calmly said, "Hmm, some things are better confirmed in person."
The two of them chatted for a while, and the contract was smoothly signed, making Sarah feel that her trip was unnecessary.
When she snapped back to reality, Ye Ming had already respectfully escorted them to the hotel entrance.
Sarah repeatedly pondered the series of events from earlier. She suddenly stared at him with a suspicious look, furrowing her eyebrows with displeasure.
"Antonio, this meeting, did you purposely schedule it?"
"What?" Antonio looked at her with confusion.
Seeing that he didn't admit it, Sarah lightly bit her lip, averted her gaze, and didn't say anything further. It seemed that Antonio specifically fooled her into going on this business trip with him, so how could he admit it now?
But Antonio held her back and asked, "What did you mean by saying I did it purposely?"
Seeing that he still pretended not to understand, Sarah frowned unhappily. “We didn’t need to come here at all for this meeting.”
Antonio's expression remained shallow. Smiling, he replied, "Yes, this business meeting was unnecessary, but what matters to me is you."
