Chapter 643 It Wasn't a Dream at All!
Though she was asking, Sarah's voice carried a certainty that brooked no argument.
A flicker of surprise crossed Benjamin's face; he hadn't expected her to guess this so quickly.
Had he been too obvious?
But that didn't matter.
What mattered was that he could clearly feel his heart pounding because of Sarah standing before him.
It was admiration, and a change in his perception of her.
Benjamin's eyes lingered on her, without refuting.
"Are you willing to give up the Valencia family? Its current market value suggests it won't be a cheap transaction."
If she was willing to give it up, he wouldn't have to be torn, wouldn't be at a loss.
Sarah understood what he meant.
Indeed, selling the Valencia family would make things much easier for her, giving her more time to spend with the children.
Yet whether it was the Valencia family or the Jerrett Group, both were Antonio's and her father's legacies—she couldn't stand idly by as someone else took charge.
"No, I won't." Sarah looked at him and said, "No matter what happened, I won't give up."
Benjamin had intended to use this opportunity to reconcile with her; only by resolving their misunderstandings could there be more possibilities between him and Sarah.
But now it seemed, Sarah was resolute.
This meant they were destined to be adversaries.
Before he could speak, Sarah continued, "Mr. Harrington, I must say it again, I did intentionally get close to you before to verify some things, and I didn't consider it thoroughly. I apologize to you. But now that I know your intentions, I must tell you, I will not let go of the Valencia family."
Just then, the waiter brought the Mexican dishes to the table, and her voice seemed somewhat unreal in the haze. "So from now on, we are true adversaries."
Benjamin's lips moved, but he didn't know what to say.
The emotions that had just stirred in his heart vanished the moment Sarah uttered the word "adversaries," replaced by a new bitterness.
Sarah was clear-headed and calm; she was a woman full of energy.
So, she truly didn't want anything to happen between them.
And Harold was determined to get the Valencia family; otherwise, he wouldn't have done such things behind his back. Whether or not to tell Sarah about this, it wouldn't make any difference because she didn't care.
She was already prepared to face all challenges, to guard the company Antonio founded with his own hands, just as she guarded their love.
Benjamin felt a pang in his heart, fleeting yet sharp
He envied Antonio.
Benjamin felt his eyes slightly warm, but he still looked up at her, his voice carrying a cautiousness he hadn't even noticed himself. "Then, how about being friends for one last night?"
Sarah was taken aback, her first reaction was that he was acting strangely.
But looking at the face in front of her, she found herself unable to refuse.
She remained silent for a while before finally nodding. "Alright."
Benjamin secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Observing Sarah savor her meal, he picked up his chopsticks and joined in. Such fare wouldn't grace the Harringtons' table, but sharing it with Sarah made it unexpectedly enjoyable.
Even though in the end, Benjamin's face was flushed red from the spiciness.
Watching him gulp down water, Sarah couldn't help but chuckle, but she said nothing.
After finishing their meal, they strolled back to the hotel, exchanging anecdotes from their lives like old friends with no secrets between them.
Back in the hotel lobby, Benjamin noticed a brochure at the entrance and suddenly said, "This hotel has a telescope on the rooftop. do you want to go stargazing?"
Sarah was quite interested. "Sure!"
At this time, most of the hotel's guests were already resting.
The rooftop was adorned with many flowers, and the quiet night was serene and peaceful. The stars were mostly covered by clouds, occasionally peeking through and twinkling faintly.
Benjamin adjusted the telescope, his movements appearing very professional.
Sarah was surprised. "You actually know how to do this?"
"A little bit." Benjamin glanced at her while continuing to adjust the telescope, saying, "I studied it a bit when I was abroad, but I don't know much."
She nodded and didn't ask further.
Soon, Benjamin had the settings right. He tested it before turning to her. "Take a look."
It was Sarah's first time using such a device. She walked over, carefully holding the telescope, and slowly leaned in. The scene in her eyes gradually became clear, revealing the starry sky from miles away.
"This is amazing!" She couldn't help but exclaim, and was absorbed in it.
"What you're seeing now is Capricornus. Can you make out its shape?"
"Yes, I can."
Whether it was the telescope itself or Benjamin's adjustments, everything appeared remarkably clear, even the halos around the stars were visible.
Benjamin watched her serious expression, her slender figure wrapped in a coat, her exposed skin looking especially delicate in the night—a shade of brown he particularly liked.
Sarah might not know, in this state, was even more attractive than when she was dressed in an evening gown at a party.
The starry sky sparkled, and the air was filled with the scent of flowers.
Unconsciously, the atmosphere seemed to take on a subtle romantic vibe.
Sarah was oblivious to Benjamin's gaze. She reluctantly lifted her head from the telescope, sighing. "I actually love the starry sky. I once designed a watch with a starry sky concept for the dial, it's a limited edition, and I rarely wear it."
Benjamin snapped back to reality. "I also admire the universe's mystery and infinity."
At this point, his voice suddenly halted.
'Did she just say a starry sky watch?'
A familiar scene flashed in Benjamin's mind, like a movie replaying the dream he just had, stopping at the moment he gave her the starry sky watch, her face lit up with surprise.
His mind suddenly buzzed.
Why? The gift he dreamed of giving Sarah—She actually had it?
Was this mere coincidence, or was his dream not a dream at all?
