Chapter 19 Acting Behind Mommy's Back!

In Antonio's eyes, Brian was a total weirdo—super talented but a real pain to deal with.

"BrianTech Solutions Inc. said if we wanna team up, we gotta beat this level first."

Antonio rubbed his temples, looking all indifferent. "What level?"

James shot him a nervous glance and stammered, "A game level."

"What?" Antonio's frown got even deeper.

Seeing Antonio's confused look, James pulled out his phone, found the annoying mini-game, and quickly explained the rules while showing him.

Antonio's face darkened even more!

"Mr. Valencia, I think they're just messing with us. We're trying to work with BrianTech Solutions Inc. seriously, and they want us to play some childish game." James said, rubbing his sore thumb with a frustrated look. "But this game is really tough!"

One wrong move, and it was back to square one. His precious time should be spent making money for the company, not playing games!

They exchanged serious looks, and then Harper somehow wandered over.

She glanced at the game on the phone and smiled sweetly. "This is a piece of cake. I can breeze through 3,000 steps!"

James was stunned. "Really?"

He'd been at it all morning with no luck and was starting to think this game was impossible.

But Harper said she could easily pass 3,000 steps. No way!

Compared to James's shock, Antonio was way calmer. He just glanced at Harper and said, "Give her the phone."

James was even more shocked!

Harper had to be bluffing. Antonio couldn't seriously believe her, right?

Well, he had no choice. As an assistant, he couldn't go against Antonio's orders, so he handed the phone to Harper.

Harper took the phone, hopped back onto the sofa, got comfy, and flashed a confident smile.

She thought, 'Silly adults, just watch and learn!'

For a while, the office was dead silent. No one spoke, and only the goofy game sounds from the phone filled the air.

Half an hour later, James took the phone back, his face full of disbelief!

He rubbed his eyes hard, still not believing that Harper had actually completed 1,000 steps!

And she did it on her first try!

Harper exaggeratedly shook her hand, her head almost tilted back in pride.

This was the game Brian often played with her. What was so hard about it?

Adults were really clueless, needing her to solve such a simple problem.

James quickly sent a screenshot to the person in charge at BrianTech Solutions Inc., and a few seconds later, he got a reply:

[Congrats on passing the level. Please wait for the second level.]

Seeing this, Antonio felt both relieved and annoyed.

Another level? They were really dragging this out.

Antonio glanced at Harper, who had a smug smile on her face, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

It seemed Harper was still useful, so he couldn't let her go just yet. Maybe she could help him nail this cooperation.

James gave Harper a big thumbs up. "You're a rockstar!"

He'd asked just about everyone he knew, and the best anyone could do was get past 100 levels.

But Harper, at her age, was crushing it, kinda like... well, Antonio!

Of course, he'd never say that out loud in front of Antonio.

Hearing the praise, Harper puffed up with pride. She looked at Antonio and stretched out her little hand. "I helped you out big time. Where's my reward?"

Antonio asked casually, "What do you want?"

What could a kid want besides some toys?

He wouldn't even blink at buying out an entire toy store.

But Harper grinned, showing off her shiny white teeth. "Curry noodles!"

Antonio's mouth twitched. Thinking about that gross stuff stuck to his pants last time, his face darkened!

James also remembered that runny, yellow mess, looking at Harper with admiration, almost ready to applaud.

Meanwhile, after leaving Lisa's house, Sarah headed straight to Michael's place.

Antonio was hot on her trail. Even if she switched hotels, he'd eventually find her. Plus, since Brian trusted Michael, she figured she could trust him too and crash at his place for a bit.

Once inside, she finally relaxed and took off the chip around her neck.

With the "mask" gone, Sarah's true face was revealed, and Michael looked at her with eyes full of admiration.

Sarah was even more stunning the more he looked at her, a mix of elegance and coolness, a real beauty!

Wearing an apron, he handed her a glass of water. "You've had a rough day. Here, have some water."

Sarah took the glass and said, "Thanks."

Michael grinned. "I'll go whip up some dinner."

After Michael left, Sarah started talking to Ethan about her visit to the Miller Villa today.

Ethan had been eagerly waiting and asked, "Mom, did you get the surveillance footage?"

Sarah shook her head and told Ethan about today's events, though she left out seeing Antonio with Ryan. After all...

Even though Ethan said he didn't care about Antonio, hearing that Antonio was with Ryan would surely make him feel sad.

Finally, Sarah sighed. "Antonio seems to have the surveillance footage now. It's gonna be harder to get it back."

Hearing this, Ethan frowned. Antonio was really a big bad guy!

"Never mind that. Let's not stress about it now. I'm still worried about Harper. We need to find a way to get her out first."

But Sarah didn't notice the glint in Ethan's eyes at that moment. He had an idea.

He glanced at Sarah cautiously but didn't spill the beans because he knew she wouldn't agree!

That night, Ethan hid under the covers and texted Harper: [Harper, Mom said the surveillance footage might be with the bad dad. Can you try to get it secretly?]

Soon, he got a reply: [I'll give it a shot!]
