Chapter 183 You're My Wife, What Do You Think I Want to Do?
Sarah had a dreamless night and slept soundly, not knowing how long it had been since she last experienced that. After finishing her morning routine and leaving her room, she saw Harper and Ethan already dressed and waiting for her outside.
"Mommy, you slept in today!" Harper teased with a smile.
"Yes, you two go ahead and have breakfast. Mommy will join you shortly," Sarah pinched her daughter's cheek affectionately, then went to freshen up.
After breakfast, Harper took Ethan and Ryan to the car before anyone else. Harper looked at her emotionless brother and said, "Ethan, today we're going to kindergarten with Ryan. Are you not happy?"
"It's okay," Ethan casually replied, showing no signs of happiness. He seemed no different from his usual self.
"Oh, how about you, Ryan? Are you happy?" Harper happily asked, showing genuine joy.
Ryan nodded slightly and said softly, "Yes, being with Harper... and Ethan makes me happy."
Due to his poor health, Ryan rarely participated in group activities or made friends at kindergarten, so he didn't like going there. But now it was different. He had Harper with him, and he wasn't alone anymore.
Meanwhile, after Sarah got into the car, she glanced at the three children in the rearview mirror and suddenly felt... this kind of life wasn't bad.
"Feeling good?" Antonio looked at the woman beside him, who had a smile on her face, and unintentionally curved his lips as well.
"If Harper is happy, then I'm happy," Sarah said with a smile.
"Hmm," Antonio nodded. He actually wanted to say, "If you're happy, then I'm happy," but he couldn't bring himself to say it in the end.
The car quickly stopped at the entrance of the kindergarten, where many vehicles and people had gathered, clearly there to drop off their children. Occasionally, cries of children could be heard, indicating their unwillingness to leave their parents.
Sarah looked back at the three children and noticed that they were happily chatting and laughing, showing no signs of sadness about leaving their parents.
"Goodbye, mommy. Goodbye, daddy. We're going to school," Harper said obediently. Ethan and Ryan waved their hands at their parents and went straight into the kindergarten without any lingering attachment.
Sarah helplessly chuckled and watched them enter the kindergarten.
For a brief moment, she had hoped that Harper and Ethan would show a bit of reluctance to leave her.
"They'll be fine, don't worry," Antonio's low but comforting voice instantly made Sarah's fleeting disappointment disappear.
They then left together.
Inside the kindergarten, Ryan, Harper, and Ethan entered their respective classes and quickly caught the attention of the other children.
"Why do they look the same?"
"They're not the same. Clearly, one is a girl and the other is a boy."
"But they have similar features, don't they?"
Are they siblings? They look so alike... a few kids wondered.
Harper saw those kids and smiled happily, then went to an empty seat with a curious expression on her face.
Ethan, on the other hand, just glanced coldly at those crying children, withdrew his gaze, and sat quietly next to his sister.
A few girls hesitated for a while, looked at Harper, and greeted her tentatively:
"Hello, can we be friends? You look so pretty."
"Yeah, you're like a doll, so pretty. I want to be friends with you!"
Harper's eyes sparkled. "Sure, sure, I like making friends!"
The hesitant kids around gradually approached Harper, surrounding her happily and engaging in conversations. It became lively in no time.
"I want to be friends too..."
"Me too, you're so pretty."
Because there were too many people gathering around Harper, they inadvertently pushed Ryan and Ethan away. They stared at the scene before them, momentarily unable to react.
"Harper is really popular," Ryan said with a hint of envy in his tone.
Ethan glanced at him and proudly agreed, "Of course, Harper has always been well-liked."
And so, throughout the entire day, Ethan and Ryan followed behind little princess Harper, tirelessly serving as her attendants...
...
During the weekend, Sarah stayed in the villa, waiting for the results of her interviews in the past few days.
Antonio came out of the study and saw the woman waiting for a phone call in the living room. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you looking for a job lately?"
"Yeah, waiting for notifications. I should receive the results today," Sarah replied.
Antonio casually picked up a glass of water and took a sip. "Have you considered joining the Valencia family?"
Though his tone remained calm on the surface, his slender fingers involuntarily tightened around the glass. It was obvious that he cared about this matter, yet he pretended not to.
Sarah looked up at him and saw Antonio leaning against the table, drinking water indifferently. However, his eyes briefly fell on her and then shifted away, seemingly absent-minded, lost in his own thoughts.
Sarah half-jokingly said, "No using your power for personal gain."
As her words fell, she noticed the displeasure and furrowed brow on his face. Sarah added, "I want to try other companies. I don't want to rely on your status to get a job."
She had seriously considered working at other companies, not just a sudden whim.
But these words seemed somewhat harsh to Antonio's ears.
He walked towards Sarah with long strides, his gaze dark and his voice deep. He asked, "Why can't you rely on me? You're my wife."
Sarah remained unfazed and said, "I'm just saying give me more time. I haven't agreed to anything else."
No one said she was his wife. Although the divorce was unsuccessful, she hadn't agreed to get back together with him yet!
Upon hearing this, Antonio's expression changed. He approached her with his long legs, his gaze intense, and asked, "Why can't you rely on me? You're my wife."
In response, Antonio's lips curved slightly, revealing a hint of a smirk. "I have all the time in the world. Even if I have to wait for your whole life, I can do it."
With those words, the man's slender fingers gently lifted Sarah's chin.
In an instant, a blush crept across Sarah's face.
She looked at the man, who was gradually closing in, and her heart skipped a beat. Subconsciously, she asked, "What...what are you doing..."
Antonio chuckled softly and replied in a low voice, "You're my wife. What do you think I want to do?"
As the man approached, Sarah's heart fluttered like a startled deer, as if it had missed a beat.
Her face turned red, and she lightly pushed Antonio, but he remained unmoved. She bit her lip and, determined, decided to give him a gentle kick.
Suddenly, Antonio's expression changed, his brows furrowing slightly.
He truly did not expect her to launch a sudden attack.
At this moment, Sarah's lips curved upwards slightly, and she said mischievously, "Since I'm your wife, you shouldn't be angry if I accidentally kick you, right?"
Looking at the woman blinking innocently while wearing a mischievous smile, Antonio felt no anger at all. Instead, he smiled indulgently and said, "Of course, being stepped on by my wife is my blessing."
Sarah: ...
Help! Why is Antonio acting so different today? It's quite scary!
