Chapter 743 Call Mary

Sarah was a mess of emotions, shaking all over. She looked at him with tear-filled eyes, full of heartache. "Does it hurt a lot? How... how did you endure it?"

'No wonder he changed so much!' she thought.

Sarah suddenly remembered that all of Antonio's changes seemed to have started from the day he called off his engagement to Isabella.

She remembered that day when Antonio, looking like a madman, with blood all over his head and drenched from the rain, rushed up to her and kissed her passionately.

'So, Antonio must have regained his memory that day because of the electroshock therapy,' she realized.

But she had driven him away and said some really harsh things.

Thinking about all this, Sarah cried even harder, her tears flowing like a river, which broke Antonio's heart. He clumsily used tissues to wipe her tears while comforting, "It's okay, Sarah. Don't cry. It's all over."

When she cried, he had no idea what to do.

"You should have told me earlier!" Sarah felt both guilty and blamed him, "If you had told me when you first suspected, I would have helped you regain your memory, and you wouldn't have had to suffer so much!"

"I know." Antonio's eyes reddened as well, saying, "It's all my fault. Please don't cry."

Back when he had suspicions, Harold was watching him every day. Even if he could do it all over again, he couldn't have let Sarah know about these things, as it would only put her in danger.

But he hadn't expected that even when he confessed, Sarah would still be so upset.

Sarah was both angry and distressed, but mostly heartbroken. She said, "Now, tell me everything that happened back then!"

Her commanding tone was a relief to Antonio's ears.

This time, he didn't hide anything and recounted all his suspicions and the methods he had used, including the engagement, which he had deliberately planned.

Sarah felt complicated after hearing that, and she still thought Antonio was really foolish! He had done so many things to hurt himself just to regain his memory!

After Antonio finished speaking, he also felt relieved. "Sarah, it's all in the past now, right? I won't hide anything from you anymore. Please don't be mad."

Even if she was mad, it couldn't outweigh her regret and heartache. She regretted she should have treated him better back then.

"I just think you've really suffered." Sarah reached out and hugged him back, saying, "I should be mad, but I also feel like I should thank you. Thank you for not giving up. If you had just gone along with the life Harold arranged for you and gotten used to being Benjamin, we might never be together."

Since Antonio truly loved her, what else was there to worry about?

Antonio smiled. "No, my body, every organ, every cell, misses you and longs for you. Even if I lost my memory a thousand times, I would fall in love with you all over again each time."

After he said that, Sarah cried even harder.

Then she asked, "Since Dr. Reed could see your aftereffects, maybe he has a way to alleviate them?"

The more Sarah thought about it, the more hopeful she felt. "Let's ask him next time we see him, okay?"

Antonio looked at her watery eyes staring at him, his throat tightened, and his voice was already hoarse when he spoke. "Okay."

Sarah took several deep breaths to suppress her surging emotions and put down the tissue in her hand. "Then I'll go wash my face first."

"Sarah." Antonio glanced at her and pulled her hand to his face, saying deeply, "I seem to feel a bit uncomfortable again."

Sarah immediately got worried. "What's wrong?"

"I just have a headache." Antonio pulled her into his arms, whispering, "How about a massage, huh?"

As soon as she sat in his lap, Sarah felt an undeniable change in him.

"Are you really uncomfortable or just faking it?" she asked. Before she could say more, Antonio's hot breath enveloped her.

As he moved them towards the bed, he whispered in her ear, "I really am uncomfortable, but only you can fix it."

By the time Sarah realized what was happening, she was already on the bed.

"We haven't showered yet," she mumbled.

"We'll shower later."

The next second, her mind went blank.

By the time they were done, it was already late at night. Antonio carefully took care of her and then held Sarah as they drifted into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Cynthia's test results had come in.

Timothy got a call from the duty room and went to pick up the report himself. Back in his office, he was shocked that Cynthia had a tumor in her brain.

They didn't know yet if it was benign or malignant, but the images showed it was pressing on her central nervous system. If this continued, not only would her mental issues remain untreated, but her life could also be in danger. To completely cure her, she would need brain surgery. First, the tumor had to be removed, and then they could address her mental recovery.

Timothy frowned and found Sarah's phone number. He took out his phone but then put it down again. It was too late; it would be better to tell them in person tomorrow. However, he could use this as an excuse to call Mary.

Timothy suddenly thought of something, a smile tugging at his lips. He picked up his phone again and dialed Mary's number.

Mary was about to go to bed when she got his call, which startled her. Her voice carried a hint of nervousness. "Timothy, it's so late. What's up?"

Hearing her soft voice, Timothy couldn't help but smile, though he kept his tone neutral. "Cynthia's test results are out. Do you want to know?"

Mary replied, "Really? How is she? Is Cynthia okay?"

Hearing the rustling sounds on the other end, Timothy knew she had probably sat up in bed. He said in a deep tone on purpose, "The situation isn't good."

Mary was stunned for a moment, then asked urgently, "What do you mean by 'not good'? Cynthia looks pretty healthy! What's wrong?"

Timothy didn't explain directly but said, "It's complicated and can't be explained in a few words."

"Are you busy right now?" Mary was already getting out of bed and putting on her shoes. "If it doesn't interfere with your work, how about I come over and we talk in person?"

This was exactly what Timothy had been waiting for. Feeling quite pleased, he responded, "Be careful on your way. I'll be waiting in my office."

"Okay." Mary didn't think much of it. She quickly dressed and left.

She hailed a cab and rushed to the hospital.

She didn't live far from the hospital, so it only took about ten minutes for her to reach Timothy's office door.

Hearing footsteps, Timothy looked up and saw her standing there, red-faced and out of breath. He frowned and poured a glass of water, handing it to her, asking gently, "Why did you rush?"

Mary shook her head and took the water from him. The cool touch of his fingers on her skin felt almost like a burn.
