Chapter 414 Does Antonio Never Blush?
The next morning, Sarah prepared a nutritious meal and was about to leave the house, reminding the kids, "You four behave at home. If there's anything, tell Daddy immediately, got it?"
Sarah couldn't help but feel a bit worried. Today was Antonio's first time alone with the four kids. The other three were easy to handle, but what about Brian?
"Don't worry, Mommy. We'll take good care of Daddy," Harper immediately assured her, easing Sarah's mind.
Ryan followed suit. "Yeah, Sarah, no need to worry. We won't let Daddy get hurt again."
Though Ethan didn't say anything, he stood next to Harper, his eyes showing a hint of concern as he glanced at Antonio.
Brian crossed his arms and leaned against the doorframe, saying, "Mommy, the car is ready for you. Hurry up, or you'll be late."
"Be safe and call me if anything comes up," Brian instructed Sarah like a little adult.
Antonio observed Brian's serious demeanor and felt a surge of happiness. He increasingly viewed Brian as his successor, firmly believing that this child would surpass him in the future. In fact, he already considered his son to be ahead of himself.
Sarah smiled warmly, reaching out to tousle her son's head. "Got it, Boss Brian."
Brian blushed a bit at being called Boss Brian. "Mommy, hurry up and go."
Antonio hugged her waist and helped her into the car. "Go ahead, you don't need to worry about things at home. The kids are sensible."
Sarah looked around. Antonio had already prepared fruit breakfast and desserts, as well as toys and Sudoku puzzles tailored to each children's needs. It was even more complete than what she would have prepared at home, so she felt at ease on the whole.
“Well, you all take care.”
Antonio saw Sarah off, getting into the car right behind her and fastening her seatbelt himself.
“What’s wrong? You want to ride with me?” Sarah frowned and teased Antonio, feeling like he was about to take her to the hospital.
“It’s not completely impossible,” Antonio said as he moved to get into the car.
Sarah quickly pushed him out. “Hurry back, the kids are waiting for you.”
“Well then, wife, you better come back soon too.”
Antonio blinked, looking surprisingly pitiful.
Sarah furrowed her brow. 'Wait, did Antonio just say "wife"?'
“The kids and I will be waiting for you at home. Should I make some delicious food for you?"
Sarah was getting a little impatient. "Antonio, get inside quickly!"
"Understood!" Antonio obediently saluted, but his gaze still seemed to be glued to Sarah.
"Go inside already, don't you feel embarrassed?"
Sarah hastily closed the car door when she spotted Brian by the gate, who had witnessed everything. In that instant, embarrassment for Antonio flooded her.
Antonio observed Sarah's car vanish from view, feeling content, until he turned and met Brian's gaze, his expression laden with complexity. Antonio grasped the implication of Sarah's embarrassment, and a sense of awkwardness enveloped him.
However, this awkwardness only lasted for three seconds. After all, why should he feel embarrassed when he was seeing his own wife off?
Moreover, he was in front of his son, so there was nothing to worry about.
They said actions spoke louder than words, and Antonio was just putting that philosophy into practice, wasn't he?
"Son, remember this for the future when you have a wife. Always prioritize her and keep treating her well, just like your dad does," Antonio lectured Brian calmly.
He then entered the house and joined Harper and the others in playing a family game.
Brian stood at the entrance, furrowing his brow. How did he not realize that Antonio had such a thick skin? Wasn't he capable of blushing?
