Chapter 232 Antonio! I'm not dead yet!

Antonio's gaze darkened. "She came over today to thank me for yesterday's twisted ankle incident, but the important thing is that I already told her we won't meet again."

He sighed helplessly and explained to Sarah.

While listening to his explanation, Sarah's eyes were filled with doubt. "Is that so?"

"Yes, you have to believe me."

Still skeptical, Sarah continued, "But you two were in the meeting room for over half an hour..."

How could they have stayed there for so long if that was the case?

In reality, Sarah was only throwing a tantrum because she was afraid that another woman held a higher position than her in Antonio's heart.

Antonio forcefully pulled Sarah's arm, dragging her in front of him and compelling her to look directly into his eyes.

"The meeting room has surveillance. Do you want me to show you the footage? Now, answer the question about Asa! It's obvious that man has ill intentions towards you, yet you foolishly believe he's just concerned about you as a friend!"

"Yes, I'm foolish. Have you ever trusted me? Even before we got married, I rejected Asa. When we meet, we're nothing more than ordinary acquaintances. I haven't engaged in any ambiguous behavior with him, yet you keep holding onto it! And now, suddenly, everything is my fault!"

Her teardrops brimmed with resentment, but she refused to let them fall. It was a sight that pained Antonio.

In the midst of their dispute, there was a sudden knock on the door.

"Mr. Valencia, Mr. Valencia Sr. is here," James informed them.

Before James could finish his sentence, the office door swung open. Lucien stormed in, leaning on his cane. He was displeased upon seeing Sarah, glanced at her with undisguised disdain, and turned his angry gaze towards Antonio, stomping his cane on the ground.

"Antonio, you have to explain the matter of reclaiming the shareholders' stakes to me!"

He had wanted to ask Antonio about this yesterday but didn't find the opportunity, so he came to the company to demand answers.

Antonio was already in a bad mood from arguing with Sarah, and he had an even less pleasant expression when faced with Lucien's questioning.

Ignoring him completely only fueled Lucien's anger, and since he couldn't vent it on Antonio, he shifted it towards Sarah. "Damned woman!"

Unable to tolerate Lucien's disrespectful attitude, Sarah's brows furrowed. She was already at odds with Antonio, but this lack of respect towards her was intolerable.

"It's not like I made him do that. Besides insulting me here, is there anything else you're capable of?"

Lucien couldn't bear losing face. He glared at Sarah, his voice rising a few notches. "It can't be anyone else but you! Besides, I am now in the upper echelons of the company. Do you have the right to interrupt our conversation?"

Lucien used his company authority to suppress her, but she snorted disdainfully.

Sarah showed no fear in the face of his intimidation.

"You! Get out of here! Have a look at your own status!"

Seeing that he was using his position against her, Sarah just gave Lucien a cold glance without paying any attention to Antonio.

"If you want me to leave, I'll leave. You're the leader, and I'm not someone who disrespects others," she said sarcastically and turned around, leaving the office without any hesitation.

Lucien's face turned extremely gloomy, and he turned to berate Antonio. "Look at the wife you've chosen!"

Antonio didn't bother to respond, his expression cold and rigid.

"This is my business; you don't need to worry about it."

He gave a cold command to leave.

Lucien's face grew even uglier.

"This company doesn't belong to you alone! When I founded Valencia Inc., you weren't even born yet. What do you mean I don't need to worry?" Lucien roared, his voice echoing like a clap of thunder, shaking the air in the entire room.

"Valencia Inc. is doing well now. If you have nothing else, please leave."

Upon seeing that his polite words were lost on Lucien, Antonio's gaze became even colder, his patience wearing thin.

Lucien glared at him, his eyebrows raised, and his hair stood on end, looking like a raging lion.

Antonio's eyes, deep and cold as ice cubes, lacked warmth. Eventually, he softened his gaze and calmly turned to Lucien.

"You're aging, Grandpa. It's time to retire. I reclaimed those shares so you could prioritize your health and well-being."

At the mention of his health, Lucien's expression turned frosty.

"Antonio! I'm not dead yet!"
