Chapter 713 Kissing

Before Antonio could even get a word out, Sarah shoved him out and slammed the door like she was cutting him off for good.

Outside, Antonio begged, "Sarah, come on, let me in, will ya?"

Inside, Sarah plopped back on the couch, lips tight, shooting angry glances at the door before looking away.

She thought about Margaret in the car, looking all exotic and beautiful.

Even if he had some legit reason for being abroad and riding with Margaret, he should've told her, right?

The more Sarah thought about it, the madder she got. She chugged a big glass of water, trying to cool down.

Riding with Margaret was one thing, but then he had the nerve to act all lovey-dovey in front of her and even yell at her!

And then he blurted out his identity like it was some big deal. Seriously?

'Does he think I should be all shocked and touched?' Sarah fumed.

To her, Antonio had so many issues; this wasn't something a couple of chats could fix!

After a bit, the noise at the door stopped.

Did he leave?

Sarah got up slowly, holding her waist, and walked over. Before she reached the door, she saw a shadow under the crack and the edge of a black coat.

She stopped, feeling all sorts of things.

This scene had played out before in her memory.

She couldn't remember why they fought, but she remembered kicking Antonio out, and he had sat by the door all night, looking all sad.

'Is he pulling the same stunt again?' she thought.

Sarah steeled herself and decided to ignore him.

Just as she turned around, she heard a few urgent coughs from outside. If he sat out there all night, he'd definitely catch a cold.

If he ended up in the hospital, that wouldn't be on her, right?

Sarah closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Despite her anger, she felt a bit guilty.

Finally, she took a few steps forward, spun around, and yanked the door open, saying coldly, "After tonight, you better go back to your hotel and stop bugging me!"

Antonio had heard her coming and stood up, looking all excited. "Sarah, you..."

"Stop!" Sarah cut him off, "Letting you in doesn't mean I forgive you."

She looked annoyed and added, "I said, after tonight, you gotta go back to your hotel. This ain't a shelter!"

Antonio paused, then looked at her tenderly, saying softly, "Okay, we'll talk tomorrow."

Antonio realized his tone earlier was off, and Sarah had her reasons to be mad. Maybe after they both cooled down, they could have a real talk.

Sarah snorted and sat back on the couch.

Antonio looked at her helplessly and asked, "Can I take a shower first?"

Sarah rolled her eyes and said, "Am I stopping you?"

Antonio chuckled, wanting to ruffle her hair but thought better of it, heading to the bathroom instead.

Sarah watched him disappear into the bathroom before getting up from the couch, thinking her reaction was cold enough.

She hoped Antonio would take her words seriously.

But soon, the lights flickered and went out, plunging the room into darkness. Outside, there were hurried footsteps.

Sarah clutched her phone, feeling a bit scared.

She instinctively looked towards the bathroom, her voice trembling, "Antonio!"

Antonio realized the power was out. He still had soap on him, and the floor was slippery, but he got worried when he heard Sarah's voice.

Sarah heard a loud thud and got nervous.

"Antonio? Are you okay?" she called out.

No response. Did he knock himself out?

Sarah quickly grabbed her phone and turned on the flashlight, carefully walking towards the bathroom.

The water had stopped, and droplets were sliding down the glass door. She knocked and asked, "Antonio, are you in there?"

Antonio didn't speak but let out a muffled groan.

Did he really get hurt?!

Sarah's mind went blank. She opened the door without thinking and almost bumped into Antonio.

"Sarah, watch out!" He reached out to hold her, pulling her towards him.

Sarah didn't expect to see such an intimate scene. Antonio was naked, water droplets falling from his half-dry hair, his defined muscles extending down...

She quickly averted her eyes, blushing as she said, a bit annoyed, "Why didn't you respond if you were okay?"

Antonio sighed, his warm breath by her ear.

"I slipped and couldn't answer. Don't move; the floor is slippery."

Sarah's face got hotter, her heart racing, not caring about the slippery floor.

She instinctively licked her dry lips and asked, "What now?"

He replied, "The hotel should fix the power soon. Let's wait a bit, okay?"

In the dim light, all senses were heightened. Antonio's voice, deep like a cello, made Sarah's heart race, unable to think.

"Or..."

She was about to suggest waiting outside when the lights suddenly came back on.

Antonio shielded her eyes from the sudden brightness and checked her over, asking, "Are you okay, Sarah?"

Sarah stared at him, momentarily stunned.

She had always known Antonio had a great body, but seeing his eight-pack abs under the light after so long made her heart race.

Antonio realized their situation. The steamy bathroom was filled with a familiar scent.

He had brought this body wash specifically.

Since regaining his memory, he took it everywhere, as if Sarah and their past happy life were still with him.

The scent overwhelmed his senses, making him act on impulse.

"Sarah," he murmured her name, leaning in to kiss her gently on her lips.
