Chapter 799 Antonio's Will
"No!" Mary reflexively put away her phone.
"It's just..." She realized after a moment that her reaction was a bit excessive and smiled awkwardly. "Dr. Reed bought two tickets to the Harmony Arts Center and invited us to go. Sarah, are you free tomorrow?"
Sarah naturally assumed that Timothy was trying to please Mary and pinched her cheek with a smile. "Of course, I'm free. I'll definitely go with you tomorrow."
She looked at Mary's flushed face. "Since he already bought the tickets, we should go and have fun. Don't think about those bad men!"
Mary was even more embarrassed by her words. "Sarah, I wasn't thinking about him."
"Okay." Sarah didn't argue with her. "I believe with you."
Mary, even more embarrassed, turned and ran off to play with the kids.
Time quickly passed, and evening came. The kids were exhausted from playing all day and went to bed early. Sarah came out of Harper's room and received a call from Brian.
"Mom, are you resting?"
"No, go ahead."
Brian was still working overtime at the office, so calling at this hour must mean something was up. "Can you go to Dad's study and find an electronic contract for me? I don't have it on my computer here. Can you send it to me?"
Brian was still in the office, and she could hear discussions in the background, likely about some project.
"Okay," Sarah asked for the file name and headed to the study.
The study's computer had always been used by Antonio, with all accounts logged in under his name. After finding the file, she opened the corporate email and naturally entered the password.
There were no secrets between them; all passwords were shared.
Soon, the email was sent.
Sarah sent Brian a voice message on her phone, "Honey, I sent the email from your dad's account. Did you receive..."
Her voice trailed off.
She released her grip, staring at the unread email that had popped up on the screen.
The subject was incomplete, only showing "Antonio's Will Final Confirmation."
When did Antonio make a will?
Sarah's heart suddenly raced. She quickly said a few words to Brian, put down her phone, and hurriedly opened the email.
She had initially hoped it might be a scam email, but as the content unfolded before her eyes, she realized it was all real.
Antonio had indeed made a will behind her back.
Sarah knew that for someone like Antonio, a billionaire, making a will at a young age was common. After all, no one knew what might happen next, and he had so many people and things under his care that needed to be planned in advance.
But what was most unsettling was that, given Antonio's personality, if it were just a routine will, he would have told her.
Sarah continued reading and found that the content was incredibly detailed, even making arrangements for the family pet.
Realizing something was wrong, Sarah's grip on the mouse tightened, her lips trembling slightly. She quickly scrolled to the end and froze when she saw the signing date was today.
A chilling sensation seeped into her veins. After a moment, she checked the email's sent time: 11 AM today.
So, he signed the document this morning!
Sarah stared at the words for a long time. When she came to her senses, she instinctively wanted to call Antonio and ask what was going on.
But when she found his number, she hesitated.
What could she find out by asking now? Antonio would definitely say nothing.
Sarah thought about the recent oddities and the hospital-like sounds she heard last night, which Antonio had dismissed as her imagination.
She bit her lip, almost certain of her suspicions.
She thought 'Antonio, that bad man! He must be hiding something from me again!'
At that moment, Mary knocked on the door, wanting to ask about the hospital arrangements for tomorrow. "Sarah, can I come in?"
"Mary." Seeing a familiar face, Sarah felt a glimmer of hope and couldn't hold back her tears.
Mary's heart tightened, and she quickly walked over to her. "Sarah, what happened?"
Sarah closed her eyes briefly, suppressing the intense unease in her heart. "Look at this."
She pointed to the computer screen, showing Antonio's will. "I just found out that Antonio made a will behind my back, and he signed it this morning. What do you think he's planning?"
Mary was also shocked by the content.
She wanted to say something comforting but felt that anything she said would be meaningless.
Sarah and Antonio knew each other best. If she felt something was wrong, then Antonio must be hiding something.
"Sarah," Mary squeezed her shoulder, "have you asked Antonio about it?"
"No. I don't want to ask." Sarah took a deep breath. "With his personality... if he wants to hide something from me, I won't get any answers. I'm really fed up."
Mary looked at her confused and angry expression, feeling anxious, and quickly thought it over.
After a moment, she suddenly said, "Right!"
Mary looked up. "Sarah, do you think Antonio's situation might be related to Mr. Reed?"
Thinking about it, Timothy's unusual behavior today was also strange. It didn't fit Timothy's style at all!
He was always cold and aloof, never bothering to explain or lower himself.
Sarah was taken aback and then realized. "So, what are they planning together?"
Mary saw her dazed expression and bit her lip. "How about I call Mr. Reed and test him?"
Sarah nodded. "Okay, call him quickly!"
Mary didn't hesitate and took out her phone to make the call.
Timothy was likely at home tonight, and the receiver only picked up his deep voice, with silence around him.
Mary glanced at Sarah and then spoke in a normal tone, "Are you free tomorrow? I have a friend in the hospital, at your hospital. If you have time, could you check on him for me?"
"Which friend?" Timothy asked.
Mary didn't expect Timothy to ask this first and stammered, "Uh, just a senior from the club."
Timothy's voice lowered, "No time. I have surgery tomorrow and will be busy until late."
After a pause, he added, "We're all adults. It's just a hospital stay. What's there to check on? Doesn't he know you're not in Marshall City? Why did he specifically tell you?"
