Chapter 277 Don't Tell Mommy!

"I am proud of my son."

It was a phrase that sparked a flicker of light in Ethan's eyes. Sarah used to say this often, but it sounded different coming from Antonio's mouth.

Carrying the trophy, Ethan held it in his hands on the way back. After much hesitation, he contemplated whether or not to thank Antonio.

Antonio noticed Ethan's struggle to articulate his thoughts and asked, "Ethan, do you want to tell me something?"

Instead of thanking him, Ethan blurted out, "How did you come here?"

Harper interjected, "Daddy found your mark on the calendar and asked Mommy for the address. Then he brought us here. Isn't Daddy awesome, Ethan?"

'So, it wasn't Mommy who asked him to come. He found out himself and took the initiative. Should I still say thank him?'

Antonio seemed to understand what Ethan was thinking.

"Ethan, this is what I should do," he said.

Ethan glanced at Antonio, not saying a word but secretly smiling.

Back at home…Sarah, who had recovered after taking medicine, opened the fireworks tube in her hand.

"Congratulations to my son for achieving a grand slam!"

Seeing Sarah, who had just recovered, Ethan became happy. He had been worried about Sarah's health during the competition.

"Mommy, are you no longer running a fever?" he asked.

"No, thanks to the medicine you gave me this morning. Thank you, my son." Sarah kissed Ethan's face. "How was the competition today?"

Harper jumped out, pulling Ryan along. "Mommy, Ethan was bullied, but then Daddy scared the bad guy away with just one hit. Daddy even said on stage that he is proud of his son!"

Sarah could guess what had happened. Looking at Ethan's reluctance to put down the trophy, she understood what was in his heart.

At that moment, Antonio came out of the kitchen carrying a cake with "Congratulations Ethan" messily written on it. It was clear that he had done it himself in the kitchen.

Harper leaned in and secretly swiped her finger across the cake, then quickly smeared it on Ethan and Ryan's faces.

"Hooray! Let's eat the cake," she exclaimed.

But it didn't end there. Harper then directly smeared cake on Antonio's face, which instantly caused an uproar. Everyone started to make a commotion.

Sarah tried to prevent anyone from falling over while thinking that their birthdays were coming up soon. They would turn five years old.

"Ethan, Harper, what do you want for your birthday presents?" Sarah asked while the others were resting.

Ethan and Harper exchanged glances and instantly remembered Brian, who was still abroad. It had been a long time since they last saw him.

'I miss Brian so much. I want to celebrate my birthday with him…'

"Your birthday is coming soon?" Antonio was taken aback, realizing only now that he had missed his children's birthdays for four whole years.

"Yeah, it's just a few days away." Sarah smiled faintly. "Mr. Valencia, are you planning something?"

Ethan stole a glance at Antonio, his heart pounding with anticipation. He struggled to suppress his expectations, but a glimmer of hope still shone in his eyes.

Antonio looked at the two children as well. "Daddy will definitely give you a birthday like no other."

At night, Ethan and Harper hid under the covers and called Brian, bringing up the topics of today's competition and the birthday.

"Brian, come here already. It's been so long since we saw each other, and Harper really misses you."

"I miss you too, big brother."

Even Ethan, who struggled to express himself, found his voice.

Naturally, Brian couldn't ignore the tug at his heartstrings. It had been too long since he had seen his siblings and his mother.

Flipping through his recent schedule, Brian noticed a fortuitous coincidence: the company had a multinational collaboration with a company in their home country. This presented the perfect chance for him to return home.

"Alright, I promise you that I will come back on your birthday, but you have to promise me one thing too."

"Okay, Brian. What is it?"

Harper happily danced about, almost rushing to find Sarah and tell her the good news.

"You can't tell Mommy about me coming back. No, except for the two of you, no one should know."

Harper didn't quite understand. "Uh? Why?"

Brian raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry about that. I'll make the decision."

He wanted to see how Antonio, the so-called father, managed to persuade his siblings and mother!

After hanging up, Alex knocked on the door and entered. "Boss, this draft contract needs your signature."

"Is it about the multinational collaboration in my home country?"

"Yes, what are your thoughts?"

Brian smiled faintly. "We'll go together."

Alex was taken aback, as Brian had never mentioned going to his home countrybefore. "Is it to celebrate Sarah's birthday together?"

"Yeah." Brian paused. "Not only that, I have some other things to take care of as well."

Alex knew that Brian always had a plan, so he didn't ask any further.

During the following period, Sarah, unaware of her children's actions, began to feel that something wasn't right.

It seemed like they were always doing something behind her back...
