Chapter 404 The Vanishing Little Masquerade
Sarah was intimately acquainted with Brian's character, understanding that her eldest son bore a striking resemblance to Antonio in temperament. Their approach and attitudes in handling matters often aligned. Antonio, brimming with pride, declared, "Of course, he's my son."
Brian merely furrowed his brows, remaining silent. Yet, a flicker of surprise danced in his heart.
Clasping her parents' hands, Harper suggested, "Let's go home, Ryan must be terrified all alone." Despite the perils they had just faced, the unity of their family was paramount, wasn't it?
"Let's go, we're heading home." Antonio stooped to hoist the two boys into his arms, while Sarah instinctively cradled Harper. Initially, Brian felt a twinge of discomfort, but upon seeing the bandage swathed around Antonio's shoulder, he offered no resistance.
Their journey led them back to Century Garden. It wasn't that Antonio was averse to returning to the Valencia family home, but their belongings were at Century Garden, making it inconvenient to return home at that moment.
However, upon their arrival, Antonio spotted a figure standing at the entrance of the Century Garden villa - Alex.
"How did he manage to follow us here?" Antonio murmured, parking the car before the villa, his brows knitted in consternation.
As it transpired, Alex had been unable to rest after failing to pick up the children and receiving Sarah's earlier call. He had been attempting to contact Brian, but to no avail. His concern was genuine, but without any clue of the CEO's whereabouts, he had no choice but to wait at the entrance.
Brian's phone had died while he was searching for information, leaving him unable to respond to Alex's messages. Upon seeing Alex, he swiftly exited the car, calling out, "Uncle Alex!"
Alex had been preparing to alert everyone in the company and scour the city for news about the CEO. But upon seeing Brian approach, he was thrown into a panic, momentarily forgetting his plans.
"Allen, where have you been? Why didn't you answer the phone? What happened to your clothes? What's going on?" Alex fired off a series of questions.
Brian felt somewhat helpless, but he recognized Alex's genuine concern. "It's nothing, I'll explain later, don't worry," he attempted to reassure Alex.
However, after being on edge for so long, how could Alex easily calm down? "How can I not be worried? The driver just told me that he couldn't find you, and mentioned something about the CEO disappearing. It scared me half to death." Alex seldom lost his temper, but his anxiety had gotten the better of him that day.
"Allen, I checked the surveillance footage, and you got into the wrong car. What's the deal with that car? I..." But before he could complete his sentence, Alex froze, abruptly closing his mouth. He had spotted a magnified version of the CEO standing behind their own CEO. Swallowing hard, he forced a smile and stammered, "Sarah... Mr. Valencia? You're here too, haha, didn't see you just now."
Why on earth was Antonio here? Wasn't Brian supposed to keep his existence a secret from Antonio? When had he been discovered? What on earth had transpired? Why had they all returned together?
Brian also felt a sense of helplessness. He hadn't intended to reveal his CEO identity to Antonio so soon. After all, he had successfully deceived Valencia Inc. before. It was only that day that his true identity had been unveiled. If Antonio took issue with this, wouldn't it complicate things for his mother?
Antonio's face remained impassive, his gaze locked onto Alex. "Repeat what you just said."
Sarah sighed, her three children echoing her sentiment. They had never anticipated that both of Brian's alter egos would be exposed on the same day!
