Chapter 974 Do Not Dare
Una felt a wave of sadness wash over her, taking a moment to compose herself. "Alright... could you help me bring the flowers inside?"
Francis nodded, then apologized, "Una, there are a ton of flowers. Maybe we should get some help from the security guards?"
Una walked over and saw the sheer volume of flowers. It was an entire truckload!
A mix of emotions surged through her as she waved to the guards behind her. "Hey, call two people to help!"
Francis's eyes flickered slightly, but he continued chatting with her, steering the conversation towards Bob to buy more time.
Meanwhile, in the back garden, Sarah had already slipped into the Morrison Villa through a secluded side door, making her way smoothly to the second-floor nursery.
The lighting on the second floor was dim, and the surroundings were silent.
She quietly opened the door and walked towards the crib.
Nia...
Sarah silently called her name, her heart racing uncontrollably. This feeling was different from her previous affection. She knew Nia could very well be Eden, and the thought filled her with an overwhelming excitement.
Nia was sleeping soundly in the crib, clutching a pendant necklace, her little mouth moving unconsciously in a cute manner.
Sarah watched her for a while, her heart softening.
"Nia..."
She called softly, her nose tingling with emotion, and she couldn't help but reach out to touch the child who might be Eden.
Antonio was still outside the villa's wall, listening to Sarah on the phone. His heart tightened, but when he didn't hear any movement for a while, he reminded her sternly.
"Sarah, hurry up."
Sarah snapped back to reality at his voice, wiping her eyes.
"Okay... right away."
She bent down and kissed Nia's forehead gently, then carefully searched the crib.
The room was dimly lit, so she used her phone's screen as a light source.
After a while, Sarah found a few hairs with follicles on the pillow and carefully placed them in a prepared, sealed bag. She spoke into her Bluetooth earpiece, "Got it."
She was about to leave when she suddenly stopped and turned to look at Nia deeply.
Eden... wait for me to come get you.
Antonio heard her coming down the stairs and quickly sent a message to Francis.
Francis felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and immediately wrapped up the conversation. "Una, now that the flowers are delivered, we'll take our leave. Rest assured, your son will come back safely."
Una felt comforted by his words and nodded in agreement. "Thank you."
She turned back to the villa, not noticing the shadow that fell outside the garden wall.
Antonio caught Sarah in his arms, asking softly, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
Sarah's mood was low. "I just... feel for Eden."
"Don't worry, we'll be reunited with her soon."
Just then, Francis's car pulled up. He rolled down the window and called out, "Let's head back to the flower shop first."
Antonio opened the passenger door for Sarah. "Don't worry, I'll find a lab to do the DNA test overnight. We'll know the results by morning."
The two cars drove back to the flower shop. As soon as Francis got out, he asked, "Did you get it?"
"Got it!"
Francis thought for a moment. "I have a contact at a private lab. Antonio, I'll give you his number. Try calling him."
Due to his current hidden identity, it wasn't suitable for him to show up.
"That would be great!"
The three of them stood outside the flower shop, chatting, unaware of a figure approaching from a distance.
Isabella stopped in her tracks, incredulous at the scene before her.
Everett...
He knew Antonio and Sarah, too?
This was too much of a coincidence!
Isabella couldn't make sense of it, but seeing them chatting animatedly, she decided to go over and say hello.
"Everett."
At her voice, all three turned to look at her.
Isabella saw their expressions and became more certain of her thoughts. Smiling, she said, "Antonio, Sarah... what a surprise to see you here!"
Sarah was taken aback, surprised to see Isabella walking over. But considering the Valencia Group was nearby, she understood. "We..."
Before she could finish, Francis quickly interrupted, "They've bought flowers here before, so we got to know each other."
He ended with a somewhat stiff smile. "Right, Mrs. Valencia?"
Sarah and Antonio exchanged glances, sensing Francis's tension.
"Yes. We've bought flowers here a couple of times." Sarah smiled, agreeing. "Mr. Stevens is very nice. We chat whenever we run into each other."
Everett was Francis's new identity, but why did he seem so familiar with Isabella?
Isabella didn't ask further, nodding and smiling. "Mr. Stevens is indeed very nice... I rent his house, so I benefit from both his floral and culinary skills."
Rent... his place?
So they had that kind of relationship, too!
Sarah and Antonio were both surprised.
"So... you're roommates now?"
"Of course." Isabella nodded openly, feeling lucky to have such a relationship. "Mr. Stevens takes good care of me."
"No... not really."
Francis looked a bit uneasy but couldn't deny it, forcing a smile. "Living together means looking out for each other. You help me a lot, too."
Isabella smiled at him. "You're right... I won't keep you. I just finished working late and came to the nearby shopping street. I'll head back now."
After saying goodbye, the three of them watched Isabella leave in silence.
Antonio looked thoughtfully in the direction she had left.
Sarah couldn't hold back and cleared her throat.
"Francis, you seem quite familiar with Isabella?"
"Well..." Francis rubbed his nose, feeling like he was covering something up. "It's just a coincidence. Additionally, she is now an employee at the Valencia Group. It's only right to help out, right?"
"Right..."
Sarah didn't press further.
"You're right. And since you used to work at the Valencia Group, it's normal to help out."
She could clearly see that Francis had feelings for Isabella, which was unexpected.
Given how tough Francis's life had been, if he could find genuine love, they would all be happy for him. Maybe there was a way to help them?
After some casual chatting, they shifted the conversation back to the main issue.
"We should hurry to the lab. If we don't get results tonight, we probably won't sleep well."
The lab Francis mentioned was in the south of the city, about an hour's drive away.
Antonio had already contacted the lab's head, who agreed to expedite the test results overnight.
When they arrived, Sarah hesitated, feeling a bit scared to go in.
