Chapter 779 He Wants to Live

The anxious shout instantly caught the attention of Sarah and the others.

They all walked to the doorway together.

Outside, on a stretcher, lay an unidentifiable black mass of flesh, filthy and covered in a mixture of dirt, grease, and blood, making it impossible to discern its original form. The stark white hospital sheet only made it look more disgusting.

"Sarah, don't look. You might get scared."

Kenneth was a doctor and thought she had seen plenty of gruesome scenes growing up, but this one was particularly horrific.

She instinctively reached out to cover Sarah's eyes, her face turning slightly pale.

Timothy glanced at her twice, feeling a soft spot in his heart.

He wanted to comfort her, but Mary misunderstood.

She gritted her teeth, trying hard to appear unafraid. "I'm not scared of this little scene."

The words Timothy wanted to say got stuck in his throat.

He gave Mary a deep, helpless look and left the room.

"Then I'll go out and take a look."

Timothy was on night duty tonight, so he had to check on the emergency patients being brought in.

Mary looked at his back with a bit of reluctance, then helped Sarah back to bed to rest.

It was just an unlucky emergency patient; they didn't think much of it. After all, in a hospital, you see a lot of suffering every day.

Two days later, at the hospital, in Timothy's office.

Antonio sat on the sofa, his legs crossed in suit pants, his face stern, exuding a cold aura.

"Are you really not going to tell Ms. Miller?"

"I don't want her to worry about these trivial matters."

He owed her so much, he could never repay it in a lifetime.

Timothy frowned slightly, vaguely disapproving, but he didn't interfere too much in Antonio's personal affairs.

Just now, Antonio had revealed everything about the chip in his body to Timothy.

He wouldn't be leaving Marshall City to return to the capital for now, and since Sarah and Mary were so close, Antonio had carefully investigated Timothy's background.

His family was clean, and his medical skills were excellent; he was someone to be trusted.

And two days ago, in the tunnel, Harold had disappeared, and the system that could control Antonio's life was still missing.

Antonio was both angry and anxious.

Although Harold was severely injured and wouldn't live much longer, Antonio always remembered that he was a complete psychopath.

What if Harold decided to kill him before he died and detonated the chip?

Harold was unforgivable, but Antonio hadn't lived enough yet; he was still waiting to have children with Sarah!

So Antonio decided that if he couldn't find Harold and the system, he would undergo surgery to forcibly remove the chip.

After all, when he was abroad, he had consulted experts, and it wasn't entirely impossible to succeed.

It just required a gamble.

And now, if the situation wasn't in his favor, he had no choice but to gamble.

Even a gamble was a hundred times better than pinning his hopes on Harold.

Timothy had reviewed all the examination reports on Antonio's chip and understood the urgency of the situation.

And he could perform the surgery.

"Since you've decided, I won't say more. If you want the surgery, let's do it as soon as possible."

"Okay. I understand."

Timothy's gaze fell on the medical records on the table, shifting the topic to Cynthia.

"During her surgery, although the tumor removal rate reached ninety-nine percent, the remaining one percent of the tumor residue is still very likely to regrow."

Antonio's face turned grim.

Cynthia had woken up once after the surgery but soon fell back into a coma.

"Did you tell Sarah about this?"

Timothy leaned back in his chair, pushing up his glasses, looking a bit tired.

"No, I only told Ms. Miller that Cynthia was just weak and that her post-surgery sleep was a normal recovery process, a self-protection mechanism of the body. She doesn't know the real danger."

Timothy always maintained appropriate social boundaries.

He wouldn't meddle in matters that weren't his concern.

Especially since Sarah was now pregnant.

Antonio's sharp features were hidden in the shadows. "Then how about I transfer her back to the capital? What do you think?"

Timothy didn't think it was necessary. "There's no need. I know the professional doctors in the capital, and I can proudly say that the treatment here won't be any worse than there."

Antonio was silent.

He suggested the transfer not because he doubted Timothy's medical skills but because he wanted to use this method to send Sarah back to the capital, so he could undergo the chip removal surgery in Marshall City with peace of mind.

But... well, this couldn't be rushed. He needed to gauge Sarah's thoughts first.

Otherwise, if he suddenly forced the transfer, Sarah might become suspicious.

Thinking this, Antonio stood up. "Alright, then I'll trouble Dr. Reed."

"It's my duty."

Timothy also stood up. The two men looked at each other, seeing a bit of admiration and mutual understanding in each other's eyes.

At that moment, a nurse knocked on Timothy's office door.

"Dr. Reed, the patient in room 9524 isn't doing well. Dr. Wheeler is trying to resuscitate him. Do you want to take a look?"

Although this patient didn't have a neurological condition and the attending physician was Percy, not Timothy, the hospital bill had been paid by Timothy two days ago, so they still came to inform him of any developments.

The knocking was urgent, and Timothy put his glasses back on.

Antonio considerately made way for him. "Dr. Reed, go ahead."

Timothy nodded casually and opened the door to leave.

The young nurse at the door glanced at the two men inside, slightly dazed.

Realizing this, she quickly lowered her head, hiding her slightly flushed face.

She hadn't been at the hospital long, and during training, she had heard that Timothy was highly professional and internationally renowned.

Most importantly, he was the best-looking doctor in the hospital.

She had secretly seen Timothy a few times in the past few days and instantly confirmed all the exaggerated compliments about his appearance.

She even thought those compliments were understated.

Timothy's looks could easily surpass those of male celebrities in the entertainment industry.

But she hadn't expected to see someone today who was just as handsome as Timothy!

It was a feast for the eyes!

This trip was worth it!

Timothy went to room 9524, and the young nurse, lost in thought for a moment, couldn't keep up.

She didn't mind.

After all, even if Timothy wasn't here, there was still another handsome guy!

She deliberately lingered, sneaking a few glances at Antonio.

Afraid of being caught, she made small talk to cover her thoughts.

"It's really pitiful. The patient in room 9524 had both legs amputated. Since being admitted to our hospital, he's been issued five critical condition notices in just two days."

Antonio paused while holding Cynthia's medical record, a strange look flashing in his eyes.

Both legs amputated?

He unconsciously recalled Harold's severed legs in the tunnel.

Those legs had been blown to pieces, making it impossible to determine their actual length.

The tunnel was filled with Harold's flesh, making it hard to tell which part of his body they came from.
