Chapter 352 The Things He Gave Cannot Stay
Sarah had already returned home and could see a crowd of journalists gathered at the entrance from a distance.
"These journalists are really persistent." Sarah sighed heavily. But no matter what, she had to go back home first.
The kids were still at home, and she would be in an even bigger predicament if these journalists were to catch sight of Brian.
After thinking it over, Sarah drove the car to the backyard. Fortunately, their backdoor was extremely hidden, and there were no journalists around.
Sarah parked the car and took out her phone to call the children.
"Mommy Where are you right now? Hurry back. There are so many people outside the door! What are they here for?"
It was Harper who answered the phone, sounding very anxious.
"Harper, Mommy is at the backdoor. Is Daddy at home?" Sarah whispered into the phone’s receiver.
"No, Daddy isn't home. Didn't he go to work?"
'Antonio s neither at home nor at the office? Where could he be?'
"Harper, tell Brian to bring the keys and pick me up. You three should lock the doors tightly and not let anyone in."
Before long, Brian quietly opened the backdoor with the keys.
"Mommy, where are you?" Brian whispered.
Sarah emerged from the bushes and quickly slipped back into the house.
Brian also locked the backdoor cautiously and silently returned to the room with Sarah.
Sarah sat on the sofa, seething with anger as she returned to the room. Who would have thought that she would have to sneak into her own home like this one day?!
"Mommy, what exactly is going on with those people outside?" Ethan also couldn't understand.
Sarah turned her head and looked at Brian. "It's all because of your brother's deeds."
Brian stuck his tongue out and said, "I didn't expect these journalists to be so crazy. Mommy, what should we do?"
He had seen how angry Antonio made their mother yesterday; it was just too much!
After thinking it through, he decided to release the video as a small punishment for Antonio.
But Sarah didn't know how to handle the situation now.
They had to wait for Antonio to come back so they could discuss it together. This couldn't go on forever.
Soon, the journalists spotted Sarah's car and instantly realized she had returned home secretly. They started banging on the door like crazy, intending to smash it open and rush in.
Century Garden was frightened and barking loudly. Brian and Ethan stood in front of the door, holding self-defense items in their hands.
At this moment, Brian really wanted to call Alex and ask him to come and drive the journalists away.
But that would expose their identities...
Meanwhile, Harper was so scared that her face turned pale. Ryan, who already had a heart condition, was terrified of such a scene. His face was even paler than Harper's.
Sarah felt a mix of anger and was worried about the children, especially Ryan, who might be scared because of this situation.
"This is just too much," Sarah exclaimed, her anger rising.
Recovering from the shock, Sarah stood up and said, "Brian, take your siblings back to the room. Don't come out unless I say so."
"Mommy, what are you going to do?"
Brian felt a surge of fear at Sarah's intense presence. He couldn't recall a time when she had been so furious. Not even when she discovered his secret trip to the country had she been this enraged.
"I'm going out to ask these journalists what they really want!"
Sarah watched the kids return to their rooms before opening the door to confront the journalists.
"Don't you know that there is a child with heart disease in my family? If anything goes wrong, can you bear the responsibility?" Sarah sternly accused the journalists.
They had been harassing her from Valencia Inc. to the hospital, and now they were invading her home. They were willing to go to any lengths to obtain news for their stations.
Unfortunately, the journalists paid no attention to these concerns. All they saw were potential headline news, completely disregarding any consequences.
"Ms. Miller, we simply want to know the truth. Why didn't we see any resistance from you and your husband before?"
"It seems the rumors of your contract relationship are true. What about child support if you divorce?"
Sarah had reached her limit, but faced with the presence of so many journalists, she couldn't argue back.
"Enough! This is our own business! It has nothing to do with you, and especially not the children!"
The group of journalists cornered Sarah, and it seemed they were about to burst through the fence.
At that moment, the sound of a car horn diverted the journalists' attention.
Antonio angrily got out of the car and forcefully embraced Sarah.
"I already said it, that video was a private matter between my wife and me! You people have been continuously creating a commotion out of nothing despite my earlier clarification of the matter seriously affecting our lives! I will personally sue each of you. Nobody can escape the consequences! Get ready for a lawsuit!"
Antonio radiated an aura of unstoppable fury as he fixed his gaze on the journalists, causing tremors among them.
While the journalists were eager to capture a groundbreaking news story, they were not prepared to endanger their careers. Upon hearing Antonio's words, they swiftly packed up their recording devices and departed in haste.
With the crowd finally dispersing, Antonio anxiously checked on Sarah's condition. "Sarah, are you okay? Did they do anything to you? Are you injured?"
Sarah shook her head. "I'm fine. It's the children who were affected. Go check on them quickly."
Sarah was worried that Harper and Ryan had been terribly frightened.
"Ethan, Harper, Ryan, Daddy's back. Come out quickly."
Upon hearing Antonio's return, Brian hid behind the door and let his siblings out.
As soon as Harper saw Antonio, tears started flowing. "Daddy, you're finally back. Harper was so scared."
Harper instantly rushed into Antonio's embrace and burst into tears.
Ryan also sobbed uncontrollably. However, he didn't cry.
Antonio immediately hugged all three children in his arms, saying, "It's okay, my darlings. Daddy has sent them away."
He coaxed and cajoled, finally calming Harper's emotions down.
"Be good, my darlings. Daddy needs to talk to Mommy about something. You go back to your rooms and rest. Daddy will take you out for a big dinner tonight, okay?"
Antonio gently stroked Harper's hair and spoke tenderly to the children.
Harper nodded, saying, "Daddy, you must keep your promise."
"When has Daddy ever lied to you? Now go!"
The three children held hands and returned to their bedroom.
Brian felt deeply sorry; he didn't expect things to turn out like this. He bowed deeply to apologize to his siblings.
The children didn't blame each other but gathered around the computer to watch the surveillance footage.
They all wanted to see if their parents would reconcile after this incident.
…
Sarah was still a bit stunned, sitting on the couch, drinking water to calm herself.
Sarah thought Antonio wanted to discuss how to resolve the issue with the video, but she didn't want to bring it up herself, so she asked, "What did you want to talk to me about?"
However, she didn't expect Antonio to say directly, "Sarah, we can't keep this robot that Alex sent. It was Alex who uploaded the video."
