Chapter 390 Why Did You Rescue Me?

Just as Antonio was about to kiss Sarah's lips, a sudden dog bark came from outside the door.

Antonio was startled, causing his hand supporting the sofa to slip.

At that moment, Sarah also snapped back to her senses and quickly moved away from Antonio.

"Since when does my daughter not like Century Garden?" Antonio asked angrily.

Sarah chuckled. "Your daughter will never not like Century Garden."

Antonio sighed heavily and ran his hand through his ashen hair, looking somewhat melancholic. "Sarah, if I became ugly, would you really not like me anymore?"

"No," Sarah said as she tidied the medicine box.

Antonio's eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Really. Even if you became ugly, I still wouldn't like you, so it has nothing to do with your appearance."

Sarah tried to maintain a serious expression, but upon catching sight of Antonio's dark face, she couldn't suppress her laughter. She collapsed onto the sofa, unable to contain herself.

Antonio smirked and playfully tickled Sarah.

Sarah hastily held his hand. "Be careful not to touch the wound."

"You care so much about me." Antonio continued to gaze at Sarah intently.

Sarah cleared her throat and changed the subject, "How are you going to the company tomorrow with this hairstyle?"

Antonio touched his hair. "How about you give me a haircut?"

"How can I give you a haircut? I've never done anyone's hair, not even the children. I always take them to a hairdresser," Sarah quickly declined.

She had never even cut Harper's bangs. Antonio's appearance was crucial to the image of the company. What if she ruined it?

"Be bold and give it a try. I believe in you," Antonio teased, poking Sarah's nose before taking her to the bathroom.

Brian always had everything prepared; there were plenty of hairdressing tools in the house, including professional scissors neatly arranged in a toolbox.

Sarah picked up a pair of scissors that felt right in her hand. "If I mess it up, remember to wear a hat tomorrow."

"Let's do it!" Antonio closed his eyes.

Although he didn't care much about his hair, it was still a matter of image, and he was somewhat nervous.

However, after waiting for a while, Sarah didn't make a move.

"Sarah, why aren't you starting?" Antonio asked.

"I'm scared..." Sarah gestured for a while but couldn't bring herself to make the first cut.

Antonio opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.

After struggling for a while, he finally said, "Actually, I'm a bit scared too."

The two looked at each other once again, blinked at the same time, and burst into laughter.

"Do I really cut it?" Sarah laughed until her stomach hurt, and it took a while for her to regain her composure.

With one snip, she didn't know what kind of hairstyle she would create...

What kind of Antonio?

"Go ahead. If it's ruined, I'll say James did it," Antonio said, sitting up straight, but unable to conceal the layers of amusement in his eyes.

Twenty minutes later…Sarah didn't know if it was because Antonio was too good-looking, or if he could just pull off this strange hairstyle effortlessly.

Upon closer inspection, he looked more handsome than before.

"I truly am naturally good-looking," Antonio said, admiring himself in the mirror.

Sarah clicked her tongue. "Only because of my skills."

"Yes, yes, it's all thanks to my talented wife. Here's a reward," Antonio said, planting a kiss on Sarah's cheek.

Sarah stood frozen, while Antonio had already walked away.

"Honey, I'll go check on Ethan. Thanks for cleaning up," Antonio said.

Although Antonio did indeed need to check on Ethan, his primary concern was to avoid angering Sarah. After all, they hadn't completely made up.

Sarah touched her face and let out a silent sigh. She knew, however, that the icy barrier in her heart seemed to be slowly melting away.

Brian had just finished tidying up and was about to go back to his room when Antonio came knocking on the door.

"Why are you here again?" Brian pursed his lips.

"I want you to see my new hairstyle. Mommy did it," Antonio replied, sitting on a small stool and admiring how clean everything had been tidied by Ethan. He was truly impressed with his son.

Brian glanced over, noticing Antonio's oddly unique hairstyle, which surprisingly looked good on him.

"Tomorrow, let Mommy give you a haircut too," Antonio said, ruffling Brian's hair.

Brian had no intention of dodging, but he hesitated, looking at Antonio without saying a word.

Antonio sensed his son's concerns but didn't rush to inquire. He calmly said, "Ethan, if anything is bothering you, you can tell me anytime.

"In my mind, you have always been the little man of the family. Ryan may be older than you, but he has a heart condition and can't take on many responsibilities. Some of that pressure falls on you, and I can't help but worry.

"But this is how a man should be. There will be many things you have to go through in the future, and I will also tell Ryan to learn from you."

Brian grasped that Antonio's intention in speaking was to shield him from psychological distress stemming from the earlier accident.

However, Brian wasn't sufficiently rattled by what had occurred to feel fearful. Any fear he might have experienced was fleeting, confined to the intensity of the moment, and had since dissipated without lingering concerns.

What made him uncomfortable was Antonio's change in attitude.

Biting his lip, Brian asked, "Why did you save me just now?"
