Chapter 322 Resolving the Crisis with Asa

"Yes, yes, I had grand plans to double the thirty thousand you gave me, but alas, fortune did not favor me," Victor confessed, his voice laced with regret.

Sarah's face blanched with fury at his admission. "So, you squandered it all on gambling?" she retorted, her voice sharp and cold. "If that's how you choose to spend your money, I have nothing more to offer you. Seek help elsewhere if you need it."

Victor's expression shifted at her words, a mix of shock and indignation coloring his features. "I am your father, Sarah. Would you have me hounded to death by creditors?"

Sarah's response was swift and merciless. "I can hardly believe you're being pursued by debt collectors when you're here, drunk and making merry with them." She attempted to leave, but Victor's grip on her arm was unyielding.

"Sarah, how can you speak to your own father in such a manner?" Victor's voice rang out, laced with reproach. "After finally acknowledging me, are you planning to abandon me? Can you repay me for all the years of toil and sacrifice I've made for you? Do you know how long I searched for you?"

His words echoed loudly in the room, drawing the attention of the surrounding crowd. The security guards hesitated, unwilling to intervene in the personal affairs of the chairman's wife and her father.

Emboldened by the lack of interference, Victor's behavior grew increasingly audacious. He dragged Sarah out of Valencia Inc., shouting accusations for all to hear. "Look at this! The chairman's wife of Valencia Inc. is heartless. She'd rather see her own father killed by debtors than lift a finger to help!

"Why is my life so fraught with misfortune?" Victor lamented. "My daughter disowns me in my old age. I might as well die at the entrance of Valencia Inc.!"

Victor's theatrics escalated as he sat on the ground, proclaiming Sarah's lack of filial piety and his abandonment by his own father. His outburst, occurring during office hours, drew a crowd of onlookers.

Whispers and pointed fingers began to circulate among those who were unaware of the truth. As the wife of the chairman of such a prominent corporation, Sarah's treatment of her father was deemed morally and logically reprehensible.

Sarah found herself wilting under the weight of the public's criticism, a flush of embarrassment creeping up her cheeks. "Victor, stop shouting," she implored, her brow furrowed in concern. If this spectacle continued, Valencia Inc. would undoubtedly make headlines again.

Just as Sarah was grappling with the escalating situation, a man emerged from the crowd and positioned himself protectively in front of her.

Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. "Asa? What are you doing here?"

Asa, having just arrived, was unaware of the circumstances. Without hesitation, he shoved Victor away. "I've alerted the police. They'll be here shortly. This is not a place where you can behave as you please."

Asa held Sarah close, effectively barring Victor from approaching her.

"Asa, let me explain..."

"Sarah, don't worry. I'm here," Asa reassured her.

Sarah felt a wave of helplessness wash over her. She hadn't intended for the situation to escalate, and she certainly hadn't expected Asa's sudden appearance.

Unbeknownst to her, the police arrived swiftly, preventing the situation from spiraling further out of control.

Sarah quickly stepped forward to explain the situation to the officers. "This is all a misunderstanding. This man is my father, and we will handle this matter ourselves." The police officers, though slightly confused, accepted her explanation. "If it's a misunderstanding, that's good. Let's resolve this issue calmly and avoid causing a public disturbance."

With their statement made, the police officers released Victor and departed.

Sarah quickly ushered Victor away, warning him, "If you don't want to be arrested, leave now. We can discuss our issues later."

Victor, sensing the gravity of the situation, felt a pang of guilt. He knew that if he angered Sarah further, she could indeed have him imprisoned.

Fearing the discovery of his actions, Victor hastily retreated, stumbling and rolling away.

Asa, watching from the sidelines, was taken aback. How had Sarah's father appeared so suddenly? And why was he so different from what he'd imagined?

"Sarah, is this man truly your father?" Asa asked, his voice laced with concern.

Sarah nodded, her expression resigned. She didn't want to admit it, but the results of the paternity test had confirmed Victor as her biological father. There was no disputing science.

"He is," she confirmed.

Asa's concern was palpable. "Sarah, I know you've been searching for your father for many years, but don't let yourself be deceived."

"I've already conducted a paternity test, and Antonio personally supervised it. There shouldn't be any issues with the results."

At the mention of Antonio's name, Asa's gaze hardened, though he kept his emotions in check. Just then, his phone rang.

"This is Asa. Really? Alright, I happen to be with Sarah. I'll relay the message, and we'll meet then," he said, ending the call with a smile.

Sarah, having heard her name, inquired, "Who was that on the phone?"
