Chapter 279 Passing With Difficulty - Antonio
Upon hearing this, Antonio immediately ordered his men to search the entire building. After all, since the incident at the last party, they still couldn't find any clues, so it was best to be cautious.
"We found nothing. I'll have my men follow you these days. If you feel unsafe, make sure to contact me immediately, understood?" Antonio looked at Sarah with worry, afraid that she might be in danger.
Sarah smiled helplessly. "Mr. Valencia, didn't you forget that we've been together all these days?"
"Oh right." Antonio chuckled. "Then I will definitely protect you and prevent any harm from coming to you."
Unbeknownst to them, Brian remained unnoticed, hidden from their view.
Indeed, it was Brian who was monitoring them.
"Do you want to continue following them?" Alex asked, his eyes filled with gloom.
Brian waved his hand. "No more following. Mommy has already sensed it. If we keep going, there will be issues. Let's use the drone."
Brian had as many drones as he needed, and they would never be detected.
Sitting in front of the computer, he watched as Antonio and Sarah went for a walk after dinner.
"Get ready."
He gripped the walkie-talkie tightly in his hand, while a notebook lay open on the table beside him. The notebook was brimming with options for Antonio, each accompanied by detailed criteria for evaluating his response to emergencies, his personal physical fitness, and even his taste in clothing.
Suddenly, the clear sky turned into a heavy downpour. Antonio quickly put his jacket over Sarah's head and led her to take shelter under a nearby roof.
The rain didn't last long and soon stopped. However, due to the heavy rain, there was a lot of water on the ground.
Sarah's shoes were not suitable for getting wet, so Antonio carried her and walked through the deep water without hesitation.
"Was that place lower in elevation? There's no water here." Although Antonio said so, he didn't put down the person in his arms.
Resting against his shoulder, Sarah said, "Yes, it's strange. It's as if the rain was specifically falling on the two of us."
…
Brian stood before the surveillance screen, his expression solemn as he carefully reviewed the available options for the emergency situation. After a moment of contemplation, he decisively marked the preferred choice with a check mark. Additionally, he placed a tick next to the other option.
'It's only rain. It doesn't count for much,' Brian stubbornly thought.
…
"Alright, put me down."
People passing by were all looking at Sarah, making her feel a bit embarrassed.
As they strolled into a quaint garden, chatting and laughing, they were abruptly confronted by a group of robbers.
"Hello, we're here to rob you."
Antonio was at a loss for words.
Sarah was stunned. 'Eh? Since when have robbers become so polite?'
These robbers seemed hesitant, as if they didn't dare to act.
Antonio effortlessly knocked them down.
"Who are they?"
Antonio was completely puzzled. Everything that happened today was just so weird.
…
Meanwhile, the battered and bruised robbers returned to Brian's side. "Boss, we gave it our all, but he is incredibly skilled. We couldn't gain any advantage in the fight!"
Brian frowned, marking a check on his personal fitness. "Well, barely passable. I guess he can protect mommy."
…
The rain and the robbery didn't bother Sarah for long. Her mind was still focused on her children's birthdays. She had already bought gifts—custom-made pendants. Although the three pendants had the same design, each one had a different symbol representing one of her three children.
Sarah received a delayed notification today about Brian signing for the gift through overseas delivery. She quickly dialed Brian's phone. "Son, did you receive Mommy's gift?"
Sarah sounded very happy, but her voice still had a hint of regret. She had never been away from Brian for such a long time. He was the most independent among the triplets. Thus, Sarah would naturally treat him as the oldest and have him make many decisions on his own.
Just like this time, when his siblings returned to the country, Brian chose to stay abroad.
But in reality, he was only five years old.
"I've received it, Mommy. I really like it. Thank you, Mommy." Brian touched the pendant on his neck. Luckily, the gift arrived before he returned to the country. Otherwise, he wouldn't know what to do when faced with Sarah's question.
"It's good that you like it. Your siblings also have one. You'll be able to see them when we reunite."
Sarah didn't notice anything unusual and only felt regretful that she couldn't be with her son.
Brian sensed Sarah's disappointment and said, "Mommy, even if we can't meet, you still have to be happy. Otherwise, I'll worry."
"Silly boy, Mommy won't be unhappy. As long as you and your siblings grow up healthy, it's Mommy's greatest joy."
Sarah became teary-eyed.
Brian chuckled. "By the way,mMommy, do you have any gifts you want? I'll buy them for you."
Since he turned three, Brian would prepare gifts for Sarah every year on his own birthday.
Sarah didn't need any gifts from her son, but she mentioned something since they were on the topic.
"What Mommy wanted cannot be bought anymore." Sarah felt regretful. She had owned a blue gemstone during her childhood, but she had never seen it again.
After checking later, she found out that the blue gemstone was part of a limited edition necklace produced in a particular year. It was extremely rare, with only three pieces made that year. It had long disappeared from the market; not even some collectors had seen it.
Sarah recently thought about it and mentioned it directly when Brian asked.
"It's okay, Mommy. Just tell me. I'll find a way to get it for you." Brian pressed on, "What if I can find it?"
Antonio had already claimed the stars, the evening gowns, and the white chocolate. Brian had no choice but to personally ask Sarah what gift she wanted in order to outshine Antonio.
Sarah had no other option but to describe the shape of that blue gem. "Darling, this gemstone has truly gone out of production. Mommy is grateful for your heartfelt intentions."
"Don't worry, Mommy, I won't try to show off."
As soon as he hung up, Brian immediately instructed someone to find this blue gem. He refused to believe that he couldn't locate it with his abilities!
'He must learn that there are people in this world who love Mommy even more than he does!'
