Chapter 313 Harper, Let's Leave Here!
"Sarah! What are you doing here? Did you know that I am not feeling well?" Victor's face lit up when he saw Sarah and Antonio.
Frowning, Sarah asked, "What are you doing here?"
For some reason, she couldn't bring herself to be patient with this man who claimed to be her biological father, unlike how she treated Kevin. Despite having no connection with Kevin, this man claimed to know her mother. It wasn't about the difference in wealth but rather a deep-rooted aversion.
Sarah just couldn't believe what this person in front of her was saying.
Serene walked over and asked in surprise, "Sarah, who is this?"
"It's none of your business." Sarah told Victor, "Come with me."
Antonio followed along, not feeling at ease with Sarah being alone with Victor.
Watching the three of them walk away, Serene snorted coldly, her eyes shining shrewdly.
Sarah pulled Victor to a secluded corridor and asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
“I came to get checked at the hospital. My daughter, why are you here? Are you feeling unwell?" Victor pretended to be concerned as he looked at Sarah.
Sarah felt a wave of disgust towards him, "I'm fine. Don't casually call me your daughter."
"It's okay. I have a feeling that you're definitely my and Isabella's daughter! Or, if you don't believe it, we can do a paternity test right now. It's convenient in the hospital." Victor actually suggested doing a paternity test.
Sarah felt a sinking sensation upon hearing this. It seemed that he was really confident.
However, Sarah also had the same intention. "Fine, but you're not allowed to blurt out anything until the results come out."
"Alright, alright, I'll listen to you. After all, I am not mistaken. You are my daughter, I'm very sure in my heart." Victor was absolutely certain, tapping something in his pocket. He felt very confident.
Antonio had been standing by the side all along and said, "There's no problem with doing a paternity test, but I must handle this matter. Who knows what tricks you might play?"
"That's even better. I don't have the money to do this right now." Victor pulled out a strand of hair from his head and handed it to Antonio. "Go ahead. I'll wait for your news."
Victor's action of pulling out his hair was so smooth that no one noticed. In truth, the hair he pulled out didn't belong to him at all. It was the hair Serene had given him when she first found him, and it belonged to Kevin.
After all, Victor had been mingling in the gambling world for many years and was adept at cheating. He had honed his skills to perfection. With his sleight of hands, he was able to give off the impression that he had pulled off a strand of his own hair without being noticed.
Even though Antonio and Sarah were watching, they didn't notice anything suspicious.
Seeing this, Sarah also pulled out a strand of her own hair and handed it to Antonio, still without saying a word.
Antonio asked the nurse for a bag and carefully placed the two strands of hair inside.
After thinking for a moment, Antonio said, "Just to be safe, let's draw some blood as well. After all, there may be too many impurities on the hair."
Victor's expression changed briefly but quickly returned to normal. "Drawing blood is not a problem, but I'm afraid we will have to do it next time... I just had a medical examination, and they drew too much of my blood for test samples already.”
Saying this, he rolled up his sleeve, and Sarah saw many needle marks on it.
Antonio did not say anything further and glanced at Sarah. "Then I will send these samples for examination."
Sarah nodded but couldn't help feeling that everything was going too smoothly. She felt that something was amiss.
After a while, Antonio came back. "The test results won't be available until tomorrow. Mr. Jerrett has already gone to sleep, so why don't we head home for now?"
Antonio reached out but did not receive any positive response. Fortunately, Sarah got into his car.
The two of them remained silent, unaware of the unexpected events unfolding back at home.
Two hours ago…A stray dog entered the yard. The dog was incredibly adorable. Even though it was a stray, its snow-white fur showed no signs of dirt. This made Harper, who had wanted to adopt a pet, very happy.
"Let's adopt it, it's too cute!" Harper couldn't let go of the little stray dog, so she immediately took it to get a bath.
Brian was a bit worried and instructed someone to take the dog for infectious disease checks and such.
But when they brought the dog home, Harper started to worry again. "Brian, what if Dad doesn't let me keep the dog?"
Brian frowned. "Harper, if it really doesn't work, you two can come back with me. This place is too stifling. Even having a dog is subject to others' approval."
Harper replied, "That's not the case. Dad is good to us, but this is a living being. And it seems like he doesn't like small animals. When living together, we should accommodate each other like a family."
Brian asked, "Isn't that the case? At home, you can do whatever you want without anyone stopping you. It's not like here, right?"
