Chapter 347 The Kids' Little Secret Can't Be Kept Hidden Anymore
Meanwhile, the footage didn't stop there!
On the screen, three people entered from outside the study—Ethan, Harper, and Ryan.
But Ethan had just come in a moment ago!
Sarah was shocked as she watched the surveillance footage, repeatedly reviewing the footage of the people entering the room.
She wasn't seeing things, nor had she mistaken anything.
There were indeed four children!
Among them, two Ethans...
"What on earth is going on?" Sarah swallowed hard and carefully looked at the "Ethan" next to Alex.
She recalled Ethan's strange behavior lately and finally understood everything.
The extra "Ethan" was Brian, who should currently be studying abroad!
Sarah was incredibly shocked and a little frustrated.
But she knew her eldest son's character well, and he would never appear there without reason.
'How long has this been going on? Could Ethan and Brian have been hiding at home all this time!?'
The thought made Sarah feel both distressed and concerned.
Even though she and Antonio were usually not at home during the day, they would always be in the living room for meals, and the house would always have people during weekends.
'Could Brian have been hiding like this? What if it affected his well-being?'
Sarah's emotions were complicated. She wanted to scold the children but couldn't help but feel heartache.
However, in the end, her longing for Brian prevailed.
After calming down, Sarah turned off the surveillance footage and walked quietly to the children's room.
The room had good soundproofing, so she couldn't hear what the children were saying or doing inside.
Sarah bit her lip, took a deep breath, and gently knocked on the door, "Kids, Mommy is taking you out, so let's tidy up."
Before her voice had even finished, a series of noises emanated from inside the children's room. She waited patiently for some time before the door opened slowly.
Harper had a somewhat guilty smile and half-blocked the door. "Mommy, where are we going?"
Sarah held onto the doorknob with one hand and protected Harper with the other, pushing the door open without hesitation. She then swiftly locked the children's room with the key, which she put in her pocket.
"What's going on, Mommy?" Ethan leaned against the closet door, looking at Sarah with a hint of panic.
Ryan also leaned against the closet but couldn't meet Sarah's eyes.
"What are you guys doing inside the room?" Sarah asked as she casually searched the room.
Ethan licked his lips nervously. "W-We were playing games."
Sarah knew her children best. Seeing him clinging to the closet, she knew Brian must be hiding in there.
"Aren't there only three of you sleeping in this room? Why is the fourth bed so messy?"
Sarah moved slowly, causing Ethan and Ryan's guards to relax.
Harper was also a little bewildered and blurted out, "It was me who messed the bed up. I was just switching between two beds."
Sarah nodded slowly in response. Then, she walked over to Ethan, first giving him a slight smile before directly picking up the two children.
In an instant, she forcefully swung open the closet's door!
Harper was so scared that she covered her eyes, unable to even imagine what would happen next.
Brian was sitting in the closet, hugging his legs and wearing clothes identical to Ethan's.
The mother and son locked eyes, and Brian was unusually guilty.
Sarah looked at him with a compassionate look, not asking him any questions.
Brian swallowed nervously and raised his hand awkwardly. "Mommy, long time no see!"
Sarah helplessly took Brian out of the closet and kissed him over and over.
The main reason her children wanted to implement all those weird rules was finally out of the bag.
The children insisted on having four beds, and the adults were not allowed to enter through the locked door. Even the maid had to seek permission before going in to clean. And then there was Ethan's inexplicable mood swings...
From the moment Sarah saw Brian, she understood everything.
Sarah sat on the bed. "Explain everything to me."
She had always thought that Brian was overseas and never expected him to have such a clever idea, sneaking back without a sound.
In fact, he had come a long time ago but had been hiding for so long!
"Mommy, I just missed you all, so I came back from overseas," Brian could only smile to avoid exacerbating the situation.
Even though Sarah had never hit him or said anything harsh to him all his life, he couldn't help feeling guilty. He didn't dare to directly confront her out of fear of angering her.
Sarah silently looked at Brian, feeling both heartache and helplessness. Initially, she anticipated feeling angry. However, upon seeing Brian crouching in the closet, sweat trickling down his forehead, she was unable to be angry toward him.
"Mommy, if I tell you that there's a reason I showed up here, would you believe me?"
