Chapter 945 Ungrateful Sarah
"Sarah..." Bob turned his head, his intense gaze locking onto her. "I can see how much you care about Nia. She's never leaned on anyone like she does with you. From now on, you're Nia's godmother!"
He added, "You two can keep this bond going. Are you happy?"
Sarah was stunned.
What just happened?
Should she be happy right now?
Sure, Nia was adorable, and they did have a special connection.
But becoming a godmother—shouldn't that be something they discuss first?
Sarah looked at Bob in disbelief, but his sincere smile made her questions stick in her throat.
The people around them were just as surprised. Some recognized her and came up to congratulate her.
"Congrats! Congrats, Mrs. Valencia, on gaining a daughter!"
"Yeah, now Ms. Morrison has another mom to love her!"
Bob accepted the congratulations and handed a glass of juice to Sarah.
With so many eyes on her, she had no choice but to take it.
This really was gaining a daughter!
Sarah took a deep breath, planning to clear things up with Bob once the crowd dispersed.
Becoming a godmother wasn't that simple, especially considering his past behavior towards her...
This just wouldn't work.
If Antonio found out, he might blow the roof off.
The thought made her nervous.
And it turned out, Sarah's worries were justified.
Antonio had just finished attending an event with the kids, and it was an hour later when they came out.
Parents and children gathered at the entrance, some saying goodbye to the teachers and eagerly pulling out their phones to check the photos taken inside, which were usually uploaded to the parents' group.
"No wonder my phone was so quiet... there was no signal inside."
"Yeah... look at this!"
Another parent chimed in, clicking on a news notification and exclaiming, "The Morrison Family just adopted a little girl, and they've already found her a godmother!"
"Godmother or stepmom? Mr. Morrison isn't young anymore. Maybe he's using the godmother excuse to find himself a wife? Their relationship must be special."
"What are you talking about? She already has her own family. You know the Valencia Group, right? Mrs. Valencia!"
As soon as the words were spoken, Antonio abruptly stopped in his tracks.
Mrs. Valencia? Could it be Sarah?
Antonio's eyelid twitched, and he turned to stare at the parent's phone. "Are you saying Mrs. Valencia is the godmother for Bob's adopted child?"
"Yes."
The parent was puzzled but showed him the photo.
"Look, there's a picture!"
Antonio stared at the photo of Sarah, standing next to Bob, dressed in formal attire, surrounded by people, with a gentle smile on her face.
This Sarah!
He had been so careful not to hurt her sensitive feelings, making sure the kids didn't disturb her!
And here she was!
Running off to someone else's house to be a godmother!
Antonio felt his temple throbbing, wanting to rush over and drag the ungrateful Sarah out for a good scolding!
Ethan and Harper sensed something was wrong and tugged at his hand.
"Dad... is something wrong?"
"No..."
Antonio closed his eyes, suppressing the growing anger. "I'll take you home first!"
Then he'd deal with Sarah and that clueless Bob!
Antonio sped back to the Valencia Villa with Ethan and Harper, then floored it to Bob's place in Capital City.
Unsurprisingly, he was stopped by security.
"Sir... do you have an invitation?"
"Invitation?" Antonio sneered. "I'm here to see my wife. Move!"
One of the security guards recognized him and quickly went to make a call.
Bob was mingling with guests, and when he saw the butler approaching urgently, he turned to Sarah. "Sarah, chat with them for a bit. I'll be right back."
"What do I have to chat about? I want to go home!"
But Bob walked away, seemingly ignoring her.
Sarah was already annoyed from being dragged around by him, and now she was even more frustrated.
Bob became CEO, but his brain still didn't work right!
Her eyelid twitched, and she tried to sneak away, but two women approached, trying to get close. They had dealings with the Valencia Group, so Sarah had to muster the energy to deal with them.
Bob glanced back, reassured, and followed the butler to a discreet corner, asking in a low voice, "What's going on?"
"Mr. Morrison, Mr. Harrington is here. He's at the entrance, and security is struggling to hold him back. What should we do?"
"Antonio?"
He actually came here directly?
Bob sneered, his eyes narrowing slightly. "If he wants to barge in, we can't let him leave empty-handed!"
At the entrance, security breathed a sigh of relief as the butler arrived.
"Mr. Harrington... we're hosting an internal wine tasting event for the Morrison Group. Without an invitation, we really can't let you in!"
"You're a man of status. Please don't make things difficult for us."
Antonio found the voices around him increasingly annoying, his anger growing.
"Then get Bob out here!"
"Mr. Harrington, you..."
Security tried to block him but didn't dare do much, looking helplessly at the butler.
The butler smiled apologetically. "Mr. Harrington, how about waiting until the wine tasting is over? Mr. Morrison and Ms. Miller can personally attend to you then."
This suggestion was like pouring gasoline on Antonio's fire.
Antonio's face darkened. "What did you say?"
He was supposed to wait for his wife to attend to another man?
The butler, intimidated by Antonio's presence, took a step back but continued, "Or... you could go home first. Our young master will definitely send Ms. Miller back safely..."
Every word hit Antonio's bottom line.
His temple throbbed, and he pushed past them, storming inside.
Security and the butler tried to stop him, but Antonio, in a rage, was unstoppable.
As he neared the banquet hall, the butler's eyes flickered, and he rushed to block Antonio, shouting, "Mr. Harrington! You really can't go in...!"
Antonio, completely blocked, instinctively swung his arm. "Move!"
The butler slipped and tumbled headlong down the stairs.
The air went silent.
Security was stunned, then shocked. "Mr. Harrington! How could you hit someone?!"
"Quick! Call an ambulance!"
"Are you okay?!"
"Someone fell down the stairs and passed out!"
Chaos erupted, and people from the banquet hall started coming out, seeing the Morrison Family's butler unconscious on the ground, blood pooling beneath his head.
Antonio stood nearby, fists clenched, his face dark and stormy.
