Chapter 803 I Will Fall in Love with Someone Else
Sarah looked at him, furious, grabbed his arm, and started walking out, "Hurry up! Stop dawdling!"
Antonio was almost dragged into the car by her. Her bright eyes were fixed on him, as if afraid he would run away.
The hotel was about an hour's drive from the lab. When he arrived with Sarah, several doctors were already waiting inside. Timothy stood at the door, glancing at his wristwatch.
"Finally, you're here. Ms. Miller, you are here too." He looked at the approaching couple, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Sorry, Dr. Reed, we got delayed a bit," Sarah said calmly, as if she had known about this all along. "Can we proceed with the surgery now?"
Timothy's gaze swept over Antonio, who looked visibly downcast. It was clear that Sarah had found out, and they had gone through a tug-of-war.
At that moment, he actually felt a bit sorry for Antonio.
Antonio was about to step into the operating room, and he got exposed at the last moment.
Even if the surgery was successful, Antonio wouldn't escape a tougher battle afterward.
Timothy collected his thoughts and said, "Yes, the preparations are complete."
Hearing this, Sarah pushed Antonio, "Dr. Reed and his team are ready, Mr. Valencia. Are you ready?"
Antonio sighed, looking down at her, "You rest in the lounge. I'll go change. The surgery won't take long, don't worry."
"I'm not worried about anything. You're overthinking it." Sarah's eyes were unfriendly as she glared at him.
Timothy could also feel that Sarah's attitude towards him was very cold.
Timothy could understand. In Sarah's eyes, he was probably complicit with Antonio, keeping secrets together.
But Antonio had been hiding it well. Why did he suddenly get exposed today, just before the surgery?
Suddenly, Timothy remembered the phone call from Mary last night.
Thinking back, it was strange.
Mary never liked to trouble others. Why would she suddenly ask him to check on a hospitalized classmate?
Moreover, their relationship was not known to the public. It wouldn't be appropriate for him to visit in any capacity.
Understanding this, he felt a sense of pride, and thought Mary had outsmarted even him.
Suppressing a fleeting smile, Timothy asked, "Ms. Miller, since you are in Marshall City, has Mary returned too?"
"Yes," Sarah replied coolly, glancing at him.
Seeing Timothy's lips start to curve into a smile, she added nonchalantly, "Dr. Reed, but maybe because you lied to her, she doesn't want to see you."
So she didn't come along.
Hearing that, Timothy fell silent.
He exchanged a helpless glance with Antonio, and for a moment, they shared a sense of camaraderie.
Just then, a nurse from the operating room came out to urge them. Antonio reluctantly held Sarah's hand, comforting her, "I'll go change now. Don't worry, take care of yourself. Wait for me outside."
Though he spoke reassuringly, his eyes were filled with uncertainty.
Sarah gritted her teeth and continued the conversation they hadn't finished in the car. "Antonio, I've seen the will you made. I've accepted it. But if you die, I won't remember you forever. I have a terrible memory. I'll soon forget you, fall in love with someone else, and let your children call someone else 'Dad.' All of your inheritance will no longer belong to you. You know I can do it, so think about it!"
Antonio was speechless.
Sarah's words were resolute, but her hands were tightly gripping Antonio's wrist, trembling violently, as if pouring all her strength into it, contradicting her words.
Antonio's eyes instantly welled up. He hugged Sarah tightly, his voice hoarse, "Alright. Wait for me."
He also understood that Sarah had discovered the will's electronic version.
The home computer he had been using must have synced recent information. The notary had mentioned sending a backup of the will to his email yesterday.
Perhaps it was fate that brought Sarah here, to see him, possibly for the last time.
Sarah finally let go, pushing Antonio into the room, her eyes downcast, trying not to look at his face.
Only when the heavy door of the operating room closed did she collapse into a nearby chair, burying her head in her arms?
Sarah prayed continuously in her heart. 'This surgery must succeed.'
The calm and cold facade she had maintained earlier was now gone.
The baby in her belly could also feel Sarah's emotions, moving restlessly.
Sarah gently stroked her abdomen, smiling bitterly. "Are you worried about your daddy too? He'll be fine, right? He must be. He hasn't met you yet. He wouldn't want to miss that."
The hallway was silent, and the only response she got was the fluttering movements under her hand, like bubbles popping and then slipping away.
Sarah looked up at the ceiling, quietly waiting for time to pass.
After a long time, her phone suddenly rang in her bag.
It was Mary asking for her location.
Just after sending her location, the door of the operating room suddenly opened, and a nurse, covered in blood, hurried out.
Sarah's vision went black, and she struggled to stand up, "What happened?"
"The patient is bleeding heavily!" The nurse, sensing her trembling, quickly explained, "The chip catheter and the cardiovascular system have adhered together. The surgery is more complicated than expected, and there's some excessive bleeding. But don't worry, we have enough blood in reserve."
With that, she quickly helped Sarah sit down. "I can't talk now, I need to get the blood!"
Hearing this, Sarah almost collapsed but managed to stand with the nurse's support. "Alright, go quickly!"
This shouldn't be a big problem. As long as the blood was replenished in time, everything would be fine.
Antonio had endured so much, even surviving a massive explosion before. He had managed to recover his lost memories through hypnosis. He could do it this time too. God would surely bless him!
Sarah clasped her hands to her chest, murmuring prayers like someone in a trance.
