Chapter 726 Don't Wear It

Antonio wasn't about to spill the beans to Sarah about the chip just yet.

Even if she found out, it’d only stress her out more.

Sarah felt even worse hearing this, tears streaming down her face.

Antonio quickly whispered, "It's really nothing, look at me, I'm fine now, right? We’re never gonna be apart again, okay?"

Sarah nodded, then shook her head, saying, "Then you gotta promise me, no more getting hurt in the future!"

He said, "Okay, I promise."

She added, "And no more secrets! If something like this happens again, I swear I won't talk to you anymore!"

She was actually super timid and couldn't handle this kind of stress.

The way she was now was just her trying to be strong.

"Okay." Antonio held her like she was his whole world, and softly said, "Once everything's sorted, we'll take the kids and travel the world, okay?"

As long as Harold was dealt with, there'd be no more obstacles between them.

Sarah clung to him tightly, afraid he’d vanish.

"Okay," she agreed.

This time, they were totally open with each other, no more walls, and they held each other tenderly for a long time.

"By the way." Sarah suddenly lifted her head from his embrace and asked, "Is there something wrong with your dad Harold? Was he involved in that explosion years ago?"

Antonio looked up in shock, not expecting her to guess that.

Then he heard her clear voice say again, "We agreed, no more secrets. Don’t try to brush this off with any excuses!"

Antonio chuckled, thinking Sarah was really sharp.

"Yeah," he confirmed.

Since Sarah had already guessed it, there was no point in hiding it anymore. He explained, "The explosion years ago, the one behind Serene, was Harold. And his goal was probably to make 'Antonio' die, and for me to return to the Harringtons family."

Sarah's suspicions were confirmed, but she was still very surprised, saying, "It really was him! But, he’s your biological father, right?"

Antonio nodded, "Yeah."

She asked, confused, "Then why’d he go to such lengths to erase 'Antonio'?"

"I don't know." Antonio shook his head, "That's what I'm investigating now, but he doesn't know I've regained my memory. So the current situation is in our favor."

Sarah felt super conflicted and didn’t know what to say.

She didn’t expect that the one causing them all this harm and trouble was Antonio's biological father, Harold.

She sighed, "So, do you blame him?"

"Of course." Antonio almost didn't hesitate to say these two words, and he squinted his eyes, saying, "If he just wanted me to return to the Harringtons family, I might not really do anything to him, but he shouldn't have hurt you and the kids."

They were his vulnerabilities, the people he cared about most in his life.

Harold was just his biological father.

He didn't mean as much to him as the Valencia family, his adoptive parents.

Seeing Antonio's calm demeanor, Sarah figured he must still be hurting inside.

After all, no one could totally shake off their family’s influence.

Those who said they didn't care were just the ones who’d been hurt too deeply.

She gently held Antonio in her arms, comforting him, "Don't worry, the kids and I will never hurt you. We’ll always be by your side."

Hearing her words, Antonio felt a warmth in his heart and couldn't help but lean down to kiss her.

He really loved her.

Antonio took a deep breath, his heart softening, and said warmly, "But you still gotta act like you don't know about this stuff. Harold's not as simple as he seems. I'm scared he might hurt you."

"Yeah, I know."

Talking about Harold, Sarah's face showed more concern, and she reminded him, "But you also gotta protect yourself."

Antonio was Harold's biological son, yet Harold used an explosion to fake his death, causing him serious injuries and memory loss.

A dad like Harold was terrifying to think about!

Antonio smiled, "Don't worry, I will."

Now he was in the shadows, and once the chip issue was sorted, he could completely escape Harold's watch. He believed it wouldn't be long before Harold's mask was ripped off.

Sarah finally felt relieved and snuggled into a comfy spot in his arms.

Just then, a cool breeze blew in from the window, and they realized Antonio was still shirtless.

And the spot where Sarah was leaning was right next to his heart.

"Maybe you should put your clothes on first?" Sarah said as she quickly pulled away from his embrace, her face slightly red.

Antonio chuckled lowly, reached out, and pulled her back.

Sarah's blushing face now made him feel a desire.

He teased, "Since I'm already undressed, why don't you..."

His pleasant voice sounded in her ear, and Sarah's heart couldn't help but beat faster, saying, "It's broad daylight. Stop it."

She didn't know that her soft voice was even more stimulating to Antonio.

Antonio slowly leaned closer, his husky voice coaxing, "Sarah, I want you. You don't know how much I want you."

Sarah leaned back but didn't really try to escape.

Just as Antonio was about to kiss her, a sudden thought flashed in her mind, reminding her of something else.

She realized there was still something unclear!

What did Antonio go to the hospital for yesterday?

If it was just a regular check-up, why would he need to see a top specialist and hide all the medical records?

Antonio saw her face suddenly change and thought she was feeling unwell, so he quickly backed off and asked, "What's wrong, Sarah? You feeling unwell?"

Sarah's lips moved, wanting to say something. "You..."

'No,' she thought.

She knew that even if she asked, Antonio probably wouldn't say anything meaningful. He had lied to her so many times, and now he was getting more skilled at it.

Sarah gritted her teeth and suddenly pushed him down on the sofa.

"I'll see for myself!"
