Chapter 395 Antonio's Transformation!
Antonio’s voice resonated with a stern edge as he inquired, "Why has the madam been making incessant phone calls?"
"I'm uncertain," came the reply, "but there has been no incident at the company."
His assistant, fearing the delay of the impending company meeting, had refrained from interrupting Antonio until now.
"Has your mind been addled by a mule's kick?" Antonio retorted, his voice laced with irritation. "Did I not explicitly instruct you to notify me of any calls from the madam, regardless of the time they were received?"
Choosing to forgo further arguments with his assistant, Antonio hastily dialed Sarah's number.
Despite his repeated attempts, he was unable to establish a connection.
Just then, a voicemail from Sarah materialized on his screen.
"Antonio, Evergreen Chess Club! The children are in peril, alert the authorities immediately!"
Antonio's countenance darkened at the urgency in Sarah's message. He passed the documents he was holding to his assistant and promptly dialed James.
"Dispatch a team to secure the Evergreen Chess Club without delay!"
The urgency in Antonio's voice left no room for questions. James complied instantly, sending his men to the location.
However, the distance between Valencia Inc. and the Evergreen Chess Club was considerable. Antonio, positioned equidistantly between the two, decided to make the journey alone.
Maintaining his composure, Antonio displayed no signs of panic.
His grip on the steering wheel tightened, anger simmering beneath his calm exterior.
Who dared to threaten his wife and children?
As he sped towards the Evergreen Chess Club, Antonio glanced at his phone. Two bars of signal had already vanished, despite him not yet having entered the vicinity.
It appeared as though something was obstructing the signal.
Narrowing his eyes, Antonio assessed his surroundings. It was clear that proceeding alone would be unwise.
After a moment's deliberation, he removed his suit jacket and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt. He retrieved a cigarette from the car, and removed the ring that signified his identity. He tousled his hair, and in an instant, adopted a nonchalant demeanor.
Exiting the car, Antonio sauntered towards the entrance of the chess club, hands casually tucked into his pockets.
"May I partake in a game?" Antonio queried the security guard at the gate.
The guard surveyed him from the parking lot and asked, "Which route did you take to get here?"
"Why the hell does it matter which route I took? Can I play or not? If not, I'll leave. Nothing's gone right today. Can't get a woman, can't even play cards."
Antonio gave the lion statue by the door a forceful kick, wincing at the resulting sting.
He appeared to be a spoiled, hot-tempered heir.
The guard, noting his extravagant attire, signaled to a colleague, "Sir, no one said you couldn't play, but I'm not sure you can afford it."
Antonio scoffed and swiftly produced a wad of cash from his pocket. Some of the bills were so crumpled they were barely presentable. He flung them at the guard's face. "I have money! Who the hell do you think you are, acting high and mighty?"
The guard quickly grasped the situation. After a moment's thought, he realized this man was a wealthy second-generation heir. Perfect, their establishment welcomed such clientele.
"Sir, please follow me." Antonio shot the guard a glare and trailed behind him into the building.
The establishment's name was unassuming, but the interior held unexpected surprises.
Antonio's face bore an impatient expression, but his eyes were keenly observing his surroundings, committing the layout and facilities of the casino to memory.
"Hey, where's the restroom? I need to relieve myself."
With an air of nonchalance, Antonio settled himself at a gambling table, his fingers casually skimming over a deck of cards, flipping them with an effortless flick of his wrist.
His movements were fluid, mirroring the practiced ease of the seasoned gamblers that frequented the casino.
The security guard who had escorted him in cast a disdainful glance in Antonio's direction.
In the guard's mind, Antonio was just another face in the crowd, another worthless rich kid who posed no threat to the well-oiled machine that was the casino.
The casino was a fortress, equipped with signal-jamming devices that ensured not even a fly could escape unnoticed.
The possibility of causing any trouble within these walls was virtually nonexistent.
This was why the security guard had dared to bring Antonio in.
Under normal circumstances, the casino maintained a strict control over its clientele, refusing entry to unfamiliar faces without a formal invitation.
However, recent financial struggles had forced the casino to relax its stringent rules, allowing some non-regular guests to partake in the games.
But every guest was under surveillance, their every move monitored, and any suspicious activity would result in immediate apprehension.
"The restroom is over there, let me escort you," the security guard offered, his contempt for Antonio barely concealed.
To him, they were all the same, each one believing they were the coolest person in the world the moment they stepped foot inside the casino.
But their smugness would soon fade when they experienced their first loss, realizing that their money held no power here, and they were in for a rude awakening.
Regardless of how impressive they seemed upon entering, if they couldn't withstand a few rounds and their wallets ran dry, they would be stripped of everything and unceremoniously thrown out.
As they made their way, Antonio's gaze drifted to the tightly controlled second floor. The decor was a stark contrast to the first floor, with every private room securely closed off, and numerous guards stationed at the stairs and entrances.
It was clear that the second floor was the main attraction.
Antonio cast a discreet glance at the security guard beside him, noting the man's proximity that made it impossible for him to sneak onto the second floor.
Thus, he was left with no choice but to head to the restroom on the first floor.
Once inside the restroom, Antonio retrieved a signal device he had prepared in advance. He pulled up a website on his phone and began playing a series of intriguing videos.
The guards stationed at the entrance sneered even more at Antonio when they heard the commotion emanating from the restroom.
They thought, he can't even forget about that stuff while using the restroom. Let's see how cheerful he'll be later.
However, beneath the cacophony of sounds, Antonio managed to send James the layout of the casino and the details of the security arrangements.
Antonio had anticipated the signal jamming that surrounded the casino, and had come prepared with the device.
James' message arrived shortly after: [Mr. Valencia, we will arrive shortly. Should we break in immediately?]
