Chapter 681 Prenatal Checkup 1

Watching Benjamin walking towards her with a charming smile, she was left speechless for a moment.

"Sarah, good morning," Benjamin greeted.

Sarah took a few steps back. To be honest, she really wanted to turn around and leave. However, Ryan and Harper were having so much fun over there, and she couldn't just leave them.

Despite feeling a bit helpless, she asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"

Benjamin raised an eyebrow. "Just a coincidence."

Today, he was dressed in a simple gray sweater, and his usually meticulously groomed hair was down, with soft bangs covering his forehead, hiding the scar at the corner of his eye.

Probably because he had been tidying up earlier, there was still a bit of dust on his face.

This look made him seem much more approachable, a stark contrast to his usual noble and aloof demeanor.

Gentle sunlight poured down from above, casting a soft glow on Benjamin.

Sarah was momentarily dazzled by his appearance.

In a daze, she thought of the past.

When she and Antonio were setting up their wedding house, he had also wore simple and comfortable clothes, doing everything himself, not at all like a high and mighty CEO.

The scenes from then and now overlapped, and for a moment, Sarah felt they seemed like the same person.

They were so alike.

But Sarah quickly came back to her senses and shook her head, pushing that feeling back down, constantly reminding herself.

'No, he's not. He is Benjamin and has nothing to do with Antonio,' she thought.

Every time Sarah had this illusion, she would remind herself this way, and it always worked.

In almost an instant, Sarah snapped back to reality.

"Really a coincidence?"

She exposed him expressionlessly. "What a coincidence, Mr. Harrington. If you hadn't shamelessly come to my house yesterday, I might have believed you."

Despite her mocking tone, Benjamin found her current demeanor adorable.

She was too cute; he wanted to kiss her.

But with so many people around and Sarah's firm attitude towards him, he had to hold back for now.

He sighed in frustration, took out his phone from his pocket, and quickly found yesterday's news. "Sarah, don't overthink it. My house burned down last night, and I have nowhere to stay. I happened to visit your place yesterday and thought the environment in your neighborhood was nice, so I moved here."

Benjamin's expression was as innocent as could b, as if she was the one making a fuss.

Sarah glanced at his phone.

The news showed that it really did catch fire.

'Benjamin must have done many bad thing. That's why his house burned down as a fitting punishment. Oh well, since the house was bought by Benjamin himself and didn't cost me any money, he could live wherever he wanted!' Sarah thought.

Sarah stepped further away, forcing a smile. "Congratulations on your new home, Mr. Harrington. Be careful next time and don't let your new house burn down!"

Her expression betrayed her true thoughts.

Benjamin knew what she was thinking of course. But he enjoyed her sarcasm.

If it weren't for the current circumstances, he would have wanted to hold her and kiss her.

Sarah had no idea what he was thinking, only feeling that Benjamin's gaze was becoming unbearable, and she wanted to leave quickly.

"Ryan, Ethan!" She called to the children not far away, "Time to go home!"

Ryan, holding his younger siblings' hands, was also surprised that their new neighbor was Benjamin.

"Mr. Harrington, are you really our new neighbor?" he asked.

Harper, with a bit of whipped cream still on her lips, looked adorably wide-eyed. "No wonder! I was wondering how someone knew exactly what I like to eat!"

Deep down, Harper still liked him.

Despite knowing Benjamin wasn't Antonio, she felt an inexplicable closeness to him.

Benjamin looked at his beloved daughter Harper, his heart melting. "Yes, and from now on, if you want to eat anything, just tell me, and I'll get it for you."

"Yay! Congratulations on your new home, Mr. Harrington!"

"Thank you, sweetheart." Benjamin couldn't help but take a couple of steps forward, intending to hug Harper, but Sarah quickly pulled Harper away, interrupting them. "Since we've already congratulated you, we'll be heading home now."

Then she turned and left with the children without looking back.

Benjamin watched their backs, his hand hanging in mid-air for a long time before he half-clenched it and pulled it back.

The smile on his face gradually faded, as his face revealed a hint of bitterness.

Upon returning home, Sarah sternly instructed the children, "You must keep your distance from Mr. Harrington across the street, understand?"

Ethan and Ryan nodded obediently.

Harper was a bit reluctant and asked, "Mommy, can't we just treat him like a normal neighbor?"

Sarah shook her head firmly. "No."

Even she couldn't figure out what Benjamin was up to, so it was best for the children not to interact with him.

Harper lowered her head. "Got it, Mommy."

Sarah felt a bit guilty, but there was no other way. She gave Ryan a look and comforted him, "Harper, be good. Next time you want cake, tell me, and I'll buy it for you."

Ryan got the message, took Harper's hand, and was about to go upstairs to play when he suddenly remembered something.

"Mommy, don't you have a prenatal checkup today?"

He had heard Sarah mention it a few days ago.

Hearing that, Ethan and Harper also reminded her, "That's right, Mommy. You said you were going to the hospital today! Do you want us to go with you?"

Sarah had been so upset by Benjamin that she almost forgot about it.

Their reminder brought it back to her mind, and she quickly checked the time. "I almost forgot. There's still time. You don't need to come with me. Be good at home!"

With that, she hurriedly grabbed her bag and left.

As she drove out, the things in front of the opposite house had already been taken inside.

Sarah just glanced casually and stepped on the gas, not noticing Benjamin at the second-floor window of the villa.

His gaze was fixed on her, filled with deep affection.
