Chapter 881 Not Going to Be His Bride Anymore
In the dream, Lisa pulled him in the opposite direction and whispered seductively, "Ryan, you can't go with them. They don't really love you. Only I truly love you. You don't love them either. Everything you think about them is fake!"
Ryan shook his head vigorously. No... that was not it!
He loved his two dads and Sarah, and he also loved Harper, Ethan, and Brian!
He wanted to be with them! They were his family!
Ryan wanted to speak, but he felt like he couldn't open his mouth.
He wanted to walk away, but Lisa held his hand tightly.
In the end, Ryan could only watch helplessly as his beloved family members walked further and further away, while Lisa dragged him into a deep fog, and he could no longer find his way home.
The next day, the dream he had the night before seemed to have been blown away by the wind. Ryan couldn't remember anything, only a feeling of emptiness in his heart.
Lisa looked at the dazed Ryan in her arms, her eyes flickering slightly, "Ryan, you're awake?"
Her voice was like warm water filling Ryan's heart, filling the void.
He nodded happily, hugging Lisa's small hand tighter, "Elara, it's so great to see you as soon as I open my eyes!"
Somehow, Elara always made him feel like he had found a home!
Lisa rubbed his head, "Get up, Ryan. Your dad will be here soon."
She deliberately didn't mention Sarah.
As expected, Ryan did not react.
'Good, his psychological dependence on Sarah had successfully transferred to me! That medicine is really powerful! It is worth giving it to him every day!' Lisa thought.
Ryan playfully stuck out his tongue, got dressed, and asked thoughtfully, "Elara, do you need me to take care of you? I'm very capable, you can ask me to do anything!"
"No need. Go wash your face first. Your dad said he would bring you breakfast later, so don't go hungry."
Ryan didn't find anything wrong with what she said, instead, he was very happy, "Okay, Elara, let's eat together later!"
Before long, Sarah and Antonio brought the kids to the hospital.
Brian had gone to the company, so only Ethan and Harper were left.
They ran over enthusiastically to greet him, "Ryan!"
Ryan responded indifferently and then frowned, "Where's my Dad?"
He thought Elara meant Francis, but he really didn't want to see Antonio right now!
Sarah hadn't slept well last night, with noticeable dark circles around her eyes. She pulled him into her arms and checked him before saying, "Francis had worked at the company, so we came to pick you up. Ryan, did you sleep well last night?"
She thought Ryan usually had trouble sleeping in new places, and the hospital environment was noisy, so he probably didn't sleep well.
But that wasn't the case.
Ryan got out of her arms, walked to the side, and grabbed breakfast. "I slept very well last night!"
He carefully inserted a straw into the milk and then handed it to Elara.
"Dad, Elara is in the hospital because of me, so I want to stay here and take care of her. Even though I'm still young, I can take good care of her. Then we can leave the hospital together. Is that okay?" Ryan said this while looking at Antonio.
He didn't know why, but he just didn't want to talk to Sarah.
It felt like there was a string in his heart pulling him back, not wanting him to get too close to Sarah. This feeling made Ryan very uncomfortable.
Sarah didn't know any of this, she just felt a bit down from being ignored by Ryan. Then she heard him say this and instinctively shook her head.
"No!" She looked at Ryan's cold expression and sighed silently. "You're just a child, how can you take care of Elara? How about this, I'll hire a caregiver to take care of her and make sure she comes back to our home healthy."
Although her tone was meant to be negotiating, it didn't sound that way to Ryan.
His face turned sour, "I can take care of Elara myself!"
"Ryan, how can you talk to Mom like that?" Harper was the first to rush over and stand protectively in front of Sarah, then turned to look at Ryan.
"Because you ran around last night, Mom didn't sleep well at all. But what about you?"
"You're only thinking about Elara! You even gave her the breakfast Mom bought for you! That's not the point, but how can you keep hurting Mom's feelings like this?" Harper had had enough!
She didn't know what was wrong with Ryan lately!
He didn't play with them, always did things that made Sarah unhappy, and had become worse than before!
Ryan looked at her angry face and was momentarily speechless, "I... I didn't."
He just wanted to be nice to Elara, what was wrong with that? Wasn't it Antonio and Sarah who didn't understand him?
Now, even Harper didn't understand him?
Seeing his unrepentant look, Harper couldn't hold back her tears, "Ryan, I don't like you anymore! Since you don't want to talk to us, then don't talk to anyone!"
Although Harper was crying, Ryan didn't move.
If it were the old Ryan, he would have comforted Harper.
He just pursed his lips, and glanced at Harper, as if thinking she was too young to argue with.
"Harper!" Ethan quickly went over and pulled her aside, "Don't cry, how about let Mom buy you some ice cream later?"
Harper choked and shook her head, "I don't want to eat."
She just didn't understand, how did the good Ryan become like this.
No matter what they said, he wouldn't listen. His mind was full of Elara, as if no one else in the world mattered to him!
But they all loved him so much!
Sarah and Antonio didn't understand either.
But they had said everything they could, tried to comfort him, and didn't want to push Ryan too hard.
Antonio frowned and glanced at Elara on the hospital bed. She still looked timid, holding the milk, seemingly very anxious and unsure of what to say.
Lisa played the victim role perfectly.
Antonio couldn't see anything unusual. But he still felt something was off.
Just as Antonio was about to speak to Ryan, Sarah pulled his arm and shook her head to stop him, "Forget it."
She closed her eyes in frustration, her voice filled with obvious fatigue, "I'll hire a caregiver for you. If you want to stay here, stay. But take good care of yourself, eat well, and call home if you need anything, okay?"
Ryan finally nodded, "Got it."
After arranging for a caregiver, there was no point in staying any longer. The family prepared to leave, and Lisa pretended to persuade Ryan for a long time, wearing the mask of a good person completely.
Harper was heartbroken. Ryan, the big bad guy, used to be the best to her, even said he would always like her the most. But now, he didn't like her or Sarah anymore!
He liked Elara, that outsider!
She would never play his bride in games again!
