Chapter 908 He Has No Family Left

Antonio seemed not to hear her words; it was as if his eyes and heart were focused solely on one thing: finding the ring!

Sarah clenched her hands tightly, biting her lip hard.

Her heart felt as if it had been pierced by a sharp knife, bleeding profusely.

Was Antonio trying to deceive her again in this way? She wouldn't fall for it, absolutely not!

At that moment, a large truck honked and approached from not far ahead.

Antonio, searching for the ring, remained oblivious.

He kept his head down, unaware of everything around him.

In that instant, Sarah felt as if her blood was flowing backward! "Antonio, are you crazy?"

Seeing the truck getting closer and closer, Antonio still hadn't reacted.

"Antonio!"

At that moment, Sarah's instincts moved faster than her body. Even though she didn't understand why she wanted to save the man who had betrayed her, but she still used all her strength to rush towards him!

Antonio heard Sarah's scream and seemed to snap back to reality. He looked up and saw the truck just inches away and Sarah rushing to save him. His breath caught, and he grabbed her waist, trying to dodge to the side.

But it was too late.

The truck was moving too fast, and the brakes couldn't stop in time.

The two were hit by the powerful impact, sent flying, and then heavily crashed down. Antonio shielded Sarah in his arms the entire time, taking most of the impact.

Before losing consciousness, he glanced down at Sarah in his arms.

She looked dazed, blood flowing down her arm.

"Sarah, why are you so foolish?"

Sarah's mind was blank; the physical pain was nothing compared to seeing Antonio covered in blood.

"Antonio."

Antonio could no longer respond to her; he had fallen into a coma.

Sarah wanted to reach out and touch his face, but her hand stopped just an inch away and fell weakly.

Blood pooled beneath them, flowing more and more, indistinguishable from whose it was.

The truck driver got out, almost scared out of his wits at the sight, and more and more people gathered around, helping to call for an ambulance.

At the hospital, Sarah was the first to wake up. Her bandaged arm throbbed with pain at the slightest movement, but other than that, she didn't seem to have any serious injuries.

She hissed in pain, looking at the busy medical staff around her, her mind blank.

A nurse glanced at her and continued her work skillfully, "You're awake? Your injuries aren't too severe, but your body is too weak after just giving birth. You must rest in bed and not run around anymore."

Sarah's ears buzzed, and her head ached.

She raised her other hand to press her temple. What had happened to her?

Looking at the wound on her arm, the horrific scene of the car accident flooded her mind!

She and Antonio had been in a car accident.

Why did they have a car accident? Because she threw away the wedding ring and argued with Antonio.

Sarah's head throbbed intensely as all the memories she had forgotten came rushing back. She covered her mouth, tears streaming down.

She had lost her memory due to the shock of Eden's disappearance, her memory reverting to years ago when she misunderstood Antonio and Lisa.

Sarah recalled Antonio's disappointed and injured expression, remembered how he stayed by her side even disguised as a caregiver, and how he bore everything alone while she lashed out at him.

Regret filled Sarah's heart. She sat up abruptly, grabbing the nurse's arm with bloodshot eyes, "Where is Antonio? How is he?"

The nurse looked at her pale face, her expression pained, "Mr. Valencia is still in surgery."

"What? Is it that serious? What's wrong with him?" Sarah's eyes were wide, and her breath halted.

Her lips trembled uncontrollably as she pulled out the IV needle, "Where is he? Take me to him, I need to see him, please!"

The nurse, seeing the pain in her tear-filled eyes, couldn't refuse. "Alright. But take care of yourself too."

Sarah took a deep breath, repeatedly thanking her.

She felt like a hollow shell, her body and soul emptied, overwhelmed with guilt, numbing her nerves.

How had Antonio managed all this time? Searching for Eden while taking care of her, a wreck!

If it weren't for her, he wouldn't have been in the accident!

Thinking of this, Sarah felt she had made too many mistakes. How could she burden him with so many troubles?

'Sarah, how could you be so heartless!' Sarah thought.

The red light above the operating room shone brightly, like the blood flowing from Antonio's body.

She stood at the door, cold all over, muttering repeatedly, "Antonio, please be okay, you must be okay. As long as you wake up, you can punish me however you want."

The nurse, feeling sympathetic, also teared up. "Mrs. Valencia, maybe you should go back to your ward and wait. Mr. Valencia will be fine."

"I'm not going anywhere." Sarah stared at the operating room door, as if she couldn't live if something happened to Antonio.

The nurse sighed heavily, "Then sit over here. The surgery might take a while. You don't want Mr. Valencia to wake up and see you not taking care of yourself, right?"

"Yes, you're right." She had already caused Antonio so much harm; she couldn't let him worry anymore.

Sarah forced herself to calm down, sitting on a nearby chair with the nurse's help.

Time passed slowly in the tense atmosphere, each second agonizing. She was drenched in cold sweat, feeling like a tightly stretched string that could snap at any moment.

Two hours later, the light above the operating room finally went out.

Sarah jumped up instantly.

As the doctor came out, she rushed to him, grabbing his hand and trembling, "Doctor, how is he?"

"The situation is not ideal." The doctor looked serious, as if considering how to phrase it less severely. "The patient is still in critical condition. Most importantly, Mr. Valencia's kidneys were severely damaged by the impact. He needs a kidney transplant as soon as possible. We will do our best to find a suitable donor, but Mrs. Valencia, you should be prepared. It's best to have Mr. Valencia's family members tested for compatibility, as a family member's kidney is more likely to match than waiting for a donor."

Sarah's legs gave out, and the nurse quickly supported her.

She opened her mouth to speak but couldn't make a sound. How could this be?

"Mrs. Valencia, stay strong." The nurse, seeing her pale face, quickly comforted her, "Mr. Valencia needs you to take care of him. If something happens to you now, what will he do?"

These words, like a glimmer of hope, brought Sarah back to her senses.

The doctor's words echoed in her ears.

There were so many people in the world needing kidneys every day; how could they find a match so quickly?

Family members had a higher chance of matching.

But Antonio had no family left.
