Chapter 345 Mr. Valencia Spare Me!
"Madam," the servant began, his gaze heavy with unease as he addressed Sarah, "a man claiming to be your father is at the door. He's quite inebriated and insistent on entering. Mr. Valencia is away at the company, and we didn't feel it was appropriate to let him in without permission."
The servant had seen his fair share of peculiarities during his tenure in wealthy households, but this was a first. Never had he imagined that he would encounter such a vagabond, behaving like a beggar on the doorstep of the esteemed Valencia residence.
Sarah's mind raced, her thoughts landing on her biological father whom she hadn't contacted in quite some time. It was likely he had exhausted the funds she had given him and had now found his way here. But how had he discovered this place?
Despite her surprise, Sarah knew she couldn't dismiss him outright.
"How did you come across this address?" Sarah asked, her face contorted in a frown as she tried to ignore the nauseating stench wafting off Victor.
Victor, however, seemed to pay her no mind. As soon as the gate was opened, he rushed inside, his eyes greedily taking in the opulent décor of the mansion. His gaze lingered on the bathroom, its size dwarfing his entire home, and his desire was palpable.
'These wealthy people truly live a life far removed from ordinary folks like me,' he thought.
"You reside in such a grand house, yet you leave your own father outside. What a disgrace," Victor chided, discarding his foul-smelling shoes and collapsing onto the freshly cleaned sofa. The servant, overwhelmed by the strong scent of alcohol, opened the windows for some fresh air. However, recognizing the man as their mistress's father, they endured the discomfort.
"I asked you a question. How did you find this place?" Sarah's voice rose in frustration, her words ending in a fit of coughing.
Victor, however, remained oblivious to her. He explored the sofa, then moved to the window, his fingers brushing over an antique vase. His eyes landed on exotic fruits on the table, fruits he had never seen before. Without a moment's hesitation, he helped himself to the fruits and pocketed several snacks.
"If you hadn't given me your address, I wouldn't have found this place. I really don't understand your thought process. Look at where I live, and then look at where you live. You are not a dutiful daughter at all," Victor tutted, settling onto another sofa.
In a matter of moments, he had transformed the pristine living room into a chaotic mess.
Sarah's coughing persisted, the pungent smell from Victor proving too much. She poured herself a glass of water to soothe her throat. Seeing his blatant disregard for her, a chill ran down her spine.
Was this the biological father she had tirelessly sought out? He didn't show even a fraction of the concern that Kevin Jerrett had shown her. Despite his illness and senility, Kevin had always cared for his daughter.
But what about Victor?
At that moment, the three children descended the stairs. The moment they caught a whiff of the nauseating smell in the living room, Harper recoiled.
"Mummy, what's that smell in our house? It's so disgusting!" Harper ran to Sarah's side, her eyes filled with concern as she looked at her mother's flushed face.
"Mommy, are you sick?" Ethan joined his sister. "Mommy, should we go to the hospital? Are you running a fever?"
"Yes, Sarah, your face is really red," Ryan chimed in, worry etched on his face. He had long regarded Sarah as his mother, and seeing her distressed pained him.
"Don't worry, my darlings, Mommy is fine," Sarah reassured them, a wave of comfort washing over her. She was grateful for her well-behaved children.
Victor, overhearing the children's concern, approached Harper. "So this is my lovely granddaughter. She really resembles you, Sarah. Come, let grandpa give you a kiss."
Victor puckered his lips and leaned in towards Harper. Unaccustomed to such behavior, Harper squirmed out of his grasp and sought refuge behind Sarah. Meanwhile, Ethan and Ryan positioned themselves protectively in front of Sarah.
"Who are you? Why are you here in my house?" Ethan demanded, glaring at Victor.
"This child is so beautiful, he truly deserves to be my grandson!" Victor dismissed the young boy's hostility. "I'm your grandpa, your mom was born from me."
Ethan looked at Sarah in surprise. She had never mentioned anything about a grandfather before. Why would a grandfather suddenly appear out of nowhere?
"Come, come, let grandpa feel special," Victor said, attempting to approach the children.
Sarah quickly shielded the children behind her. "Stay where you are, don't come any closer, you stink."
"Hey, how can you despise your own father like this? How are you setting an example for the children?" Victor grumbled, clearly displeased.
Just as Sarah was about to retort, Antonio entered through the door. The staff had urgently summoned him back from the company when Victor barged into the villa.
"Sarah, children, are you all okay?" Antonio rushed over, pushing Victor aside.
"We're fine."
Seeing Antonio's return, Victor naturally didn't dare to act out any further.
"I was just missing my daughter. I came to see all of you. Since you're all doing well, I'll leave first."
With that, Victor hastily put on his shoes and made for the exit.
However, Antonio managed to snag a strand of Victor's hair in his haste.
"Mr. Valencia, spare me, spare me!"
