Chapter 637 Can't You Be a Little Gentler with Me?

The woman in the photo had clear eyes and a serene, beautiful smile, as if responding to his call.

This woman was Benjamin's mother, Carter.

Harold sat down on a nearby bench, half-leaning back, looking quite different from his usual decisive and efficient self. Instead, a sense of desolation seemed to emanate from him.

He gently brushed his fingertip over the face in the photo and murmured, "He has already discovered something in his body. Sooner or later, the NovaCore Chip will be removed."

The reason Harold implanted a NovaCore Chip in Benjamin's body was to monitor him.

Although Benjamin had lost all his memories and was made to believe in the fabricated past and experiences through hypnosis, the doctor who performed the hypnosis said that Benjamin would never regain his memory, letting him return to Sarah's side would undoubtedly allow him to regain his memory.

Any slight anomaly in his memory would make him suspicious.

So using the monitoring NovaCore Chip was a last resort; he couldn't afford any more mistakes.

Harold's eyes suddenly became deep and dangerous. He stopped his actions, as if discussing Benjamin's future with the person in the photo.

"The facts prove that my worries were not unfounded. Even without his memory, Benjamin still loses himself in front of Sarah! Sarah is a disaster!"

"Carter, don't worry, I will never let our Benjamin fall for Sarah again!"

After speaking, Harold couldn't help but think of those things from the past.

He was forced to be separated from Carter and Benjamin for so many years. When he found them again, Carter had already passed away, and Benjamin had become the adopted son of the Valencia family!

He didn't even get to see Carter one last time.

Harold endured humiliation and worked his way up to today, letting Benjamin grow up in the Valencia family, all to make the Harrington Group flourish. Only by standing at the top could he make the Miller family pay the price for their actions!

Thinking of these things made Harold's hatred boil, suffocating him.

Harold forced himself to suppress his hatred and realized that he had unknowingly crumpled the photo in his hand.

He quickly and carefully restored the photo, whispering, "Sorry, Carter, I hurt you! But don't worry. We will truly be reunited."

It was close to midnight, but Sofia was still at the party.

When people drink too much, their emotions tend to be magnified.

She was feeling that way now.

Inexplicably, she kept thinking of Alex.

Sofia couldn't help but take out her phone and check it. Whether it was texts or calls, everything was quiet, not a single ripple.

Alex really didn't miss her at all!

She pouted, slammed her phone on the table, and drank another glass of wine.

"Waiter."

Sofia put down her glass and stood up, swaying as she waved her hand, then put her phone back in her bag before looking up at the waiter not far away and said, "Take me to your guest room upstairs to rest."

Her eyes were blurry with drunkenness; she was clearly very drunk.

Before the waiter in the distance could come over, a hand suddenly reached out.

"Miss!"

The man looked gentlemanly, but there was a hint of a malicious smile at the corner of his eyes. He approached her like a waiter, offering support. "Happy to serve you, let's go! I'll take you upstairs to rest."

Her soft little hand was really smooth.

Sofia squinted her eyes, not noticing that something was off about the person in front of her.

She had indeed drunk a bit too much, and the alcohol made her feel dizzy. She put all her strength into the man's arm, letting him half-support, half-embrace her up the upstairs.

Soon, they arrived at the door of an empty room.

The man, smelling the faint scent of her perfume, became impatient.

"Miss, since we're already up here, why not have some fun!" he said, pressing Sofia against the wall by the door. "Let's do something exciting!"

Going straight to bed was boring.

Why not try something new?

Occasionally, a passerby caught sight of this scene, seemingly unfazed as if it was nothing out of the ordinary. With just a quick glance, they hastened their pace and walked away.

Sofia looked up in confusion, her big eyes misty and innocent.

Her appearance instantly struck a chord deep within the man.

"You really are a stunner!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he pressed her shoulders, trying to kiss her.

Sofia didn't really react; she was so drunk that she vaguely thought the person in front of her was the face she had been longing for, staring blankly and forgetting to dodge. "Alex!"

The man didn't hear what she called out. To him, as long as Sofia didn't resist, that was enough.

He smiled and was about to kiss her moist lips when he was suddenly grabbed by the neck and violently thrown to the side, instantly falling to the ground in pain.

"Damn it!"

Before he could finish his sentence, he looked up to see the handsome Alex in front of him, and then he was hit with another punch.

Sofia blinked, looking at the newcomer, seemingly in disbelief.

It really was Alex!

But seeing the man who had just been ill-intentioned towards her, her cheeks flushed, and she obediently placed her hands to the side, looking like a student who had met a teacher, quickly stepping back two steps.

Alex glanced at her, then turned and lifted the man on the ground, coldly saying, "Do you want to touch her?"

'I haven't even touched her yet!'

Before the man could say anything, Alex punched him hard in the face again.

What followed was a one-sided beating, with Alex's overwhelming force making Sofia almost want to applaud.

Alex beat him until he was curled up in a corner, then shook his hand, saying coldly, "Don't let me see you again, and stay away from Sofia!"

"Yes!"The man glanced at Sofia with fear and regret.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely avoid her from now on!"

Alex's eyes remained cold, "Get lost!"

Without caring whether the man left or not, Alex turned and grabbed Sofia's hand, pulling her directly into the room. His icy demeanor clearly showed how angry he had been.

Of course, he was still angry now.

Sofia, drunk and dazed, thought she was dreaming.

She thought,'Even in her dreams, Alex was this fierce!'

She shook off Alex's hand, threw her bag on the sofa, and looked so aggrieved that she seemed about to cry, "You haven't looked for me for so long, and even in my dreams, you're still so fierce! Be a little gentler with me!"

She was truly aggrieved.

All this time, it had always been her who compromised first!

Seeing her like this, Alex's tightly furrowed brows didn't relax at all, his voice carrying a chill. "Do you know how dangerous it is to drink like this outside!"

If he hadn't come today, he couldn't even imagine the consequences!

Or did Sofia simply not care!
