Chapter 963 She Was Too Tired Last Night
Francis had already won Isabella over, and things were moving fast between them.
But Bob? Not so much, especially with Antonio in the picture.
When he found out Nia hadn't managed to drive a wedge between Sarah and Antonio, he rushed to find Sarah.
To make his injury look more convincing, he even wrapped a bandage around his forehead.
"Mr. Morrison, where to now?"
"Valencia Villa."
Bob glanced down at his outfit—a casual suit with a touch of maturity, just her style.
After their last encounter, Sarah shouldn't be as hostile towards him, right?
But when they got to Valencia Villa, he was floored.
"Where'd everyone go?" he asked.
The housekeeper, about to take the dog for a walk, recognized Bob and didn't hold back.
"Mr. Antonio Valencia and Mrs. Sarah Valencia took everyone on vacation to the Valencia Group's resort. Only a few of us stayed behind to look after the dogs. We don't know when they'll be back."
Bob's temple throbbed with anger. They had the nerve to go on vacation?!
His assistant, looking nervous, couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Morrison... what now?"
"What now?" Bob's eyes were dark and cold. "Didn't she just say? Since they're all at the resort, let's see just how happy they can be as a family!"
He never expected all his efforts would end up benefiting Antonio.
A family?
No matter how happy they seemed, his family will never get better as long as Nia is between them! Their family would never be truly happy!
Antonio and Sarah were clueless about this.
The night before, they hadn't slept well with the kids, and by the time they woke up the next day, it was already noon. Sarah took Nia to Sofia's room to have breakfast with the other kids.
Antonio, fresh out of the shower, was drying his hair when his phone rang urgently.
Did Sarah forget her phone?
Following the sound, he walked to the sofa, and his eyes narrowed when he saw the caller ID.
Bob?
Bob was really shameless with his ambitions.
He let out a cold laugh and answered the call.
"Mr. Morrison, calling my wife—what's up?"
Bob was momentarily stunned, clearly not expecting Antonio to answer. He then let out a cold laugh. "What business is it of yours if I want to talk to Sarah? Where is she?"
The audacity.
Antonio clicked his tongue against his teeth. "She was exhausted last night and is still asleep. If you have something to say, you can tell me."
The implication was clear.
Bob was silent for a moment before letting out a cold laugh.
"Alright, Antonio. Since you put it that way, let Sarah know I'll be waiting for her in the resort's garden."
He hung up immediately.
Antonio stared at the phone, a deep look in his eyes. He hadn't expected Bob to come directly.
What a persistent pest!
Grinding his teeth, he quickly got dressed and headed out.
He was curious to see what Bob was up to.
At the entrance, Bob put away his phone with a blank expression on his face.
He knew Antonio's words were meant to provoke him.
So what?
He loved Sarah and was willing to accept everything about her, even her children. What was Antonio compared to that?
His assistant, seeing him about to go in, asked urgently, "Mr. Morrison, should I come with you?"
"No need."
Bob glanced at him. "Wait in the car."
He turned and walked inside, his determined figure resembling that of a soldier heading to battle.
Antonio, just stepping out, saw Bob approaching. His outfit was meticulously chosen, and the bandage on his head seemed like an over-the-top attempt to cover up.
"Mr. Morrison, your getup is quite unique. My wife won't be coming out to see it. What a pity!"
"Mr. Valencia, aren't you generous?" Bob's smile was mocking. "Or are you afraid Sarah might fall for me?"
Antonio let out a sudden laugh. "Mr. Morrison, your arrogance is truly detestable!"
His sharp gaze swept the hall, ensuring no one familiar was around before turning back to the scheming young man in front of him. "Shall we talk?"
Bob raised an eyebrow calmly. "Sure."
They walked towards the back garden, one behind the other, the air between them thick with tension.
Sometimes, a simple look is all it takes for a showdown between men.
"Mr. Valencia, afraid Sarah might see us? Got something to say?"
"I don't want Sarah to see this because I'm trying to save you some dignity."
Antonio stopped, one hand in his pocket, his posture imposing. "I know you have feelings for Sarah. My wife is exceptional, and I don't blame you for that."
"But if you continue to pursue her, knowing she has a husband and children, and resort to underhanded tactics, you'll only disgrace the Morrison Family."
Bob remained silent, a cold smile on his face.
His jaw was tight, anger simmering beneath the surface.
Antonio smiled. "Did I hit a nerve?"
Bob narrowed his eyes. "Do you even deserve Sarah? What right do you have to let her sacrifice so much for you? If you were a real man, you'd leave her. What can you offer her besides hardship?"
Antonio's expression didn't change, his deep eyes fixed on Bob.
"Mr. Morrison, your company must not be very busy if you have time for such pointless fantasies. Sarah and I have four children and will never be apart from each other. As her former assistant, you should know better than anyone that she only loves me. Your feelings mean nothing to her. If she had any interest in you, she would have acted on it when I wasn't around. But she didn't. To her, you're not even a substitute. I suggest you give up."
His voice was calm but full of provocation.
Bob's hand clenched, veins bulging, unable to refute.
Antonio was infuriating, but he had to admit he was right.
Bob had witnessed Sarah's deep love for Antonio, even when he was "dead."
But so what?
He refused to give up!
