Chapter 667 Sarah is missing!
Brady was wiped out after talking for ages.
Sarah quickly got up and took the kids out so Brady could rest.
"Stay with your uncle. I'll go out and grab us some treats," she said, tapping Ryan's nose. "If anything happens, call me right away."
Ryan nodded, holding Harper's hand.
Feeling relieved, Sarah grabbed her car keys.
Brian, just off a call in the next room, saw Sarah about to leave. He asked, "Mom, heading out?"
Sarah, beaming, nodded. "Your uncle's awake. Time to celebrate. I'm going out to get some food."
"Got it," Brian said. "I have errands to run too. Let's go!"
Brian's call was from Dr. Gray, who had been caring for Brady abroad. Dr. Gray was supposed to return with them but got delayed. He had just landed, and Brian planned to pick him up.
With Brady awake, Dr. Gray could now check on him and plan his recovery.
Sarah reminded, "Drive safe. See you at home!"
"Sure, but Mom, my car's in for maintenance. Can I use yours?" Brian asked, eyeing Sarah's car and the driver nearby.
Sarah tossed him the keys. "No problem."
She grabbed another set of keys from her bag. "Let's go!"
"Drive safe, Mom!" Brian said.
They got into their cars and drove off in different directions.
Meanwhile, at the engagement party, Benjamin sat in the lounge, not dressed up yet. He was looking agitated.
"Mr. Harrington," the makeup artist said nervously, "it's almost time."
She'd heard Benjamin had a bad temper and now saw it firsthand. He looked more suited for a funeral than an engagement party.
Benjamin glanced at her but didn't move.
The makeup artist, sweating from the stress, was at a loss.
Benjamin ignored her. His eyes remained fixed on the guest sign-in area, hoping to see a familiar face.
He thought Sarah would come, even if just for business reasons. But she didn't, only sending a gift.
Benjamin realized she wasn't coming. Maybe it was for the best.
His eyes stayed glued outside, his intense vibe keeping everyone away.
No one knew how torn he felt. All he wanted was to drop everything and find Sarah.
But he couldn't.
With bloodshot eyes, Benjamin punched the wall hard.
He'd never felt so useless—unable to deal with Harold, remember his past, or be with the woman he loved.
He couldn't even get close to her.
The frustration was driving him insane.
Luckily, Harold was too busy to attend the engagement party in the Capital city.
Otherwise, Benjamin wouldn't know how to face him.
This showed Harold didn't care much about him and was just using him.
Time was running out, and the emcee came to urge him again.
The makeup artist, desperate, approached and said, "Mr. Harrington, if you don't get change now, we won't have enough time to get you ready." Her voice trembled; Benjamin's demeanor was terrifying.
Benjamin lowered his head, then suddenly stood up.
"Bring me the suit."
His voice was icy, but the makeup artist felt relieved. "Okay, I'll get it right away!"
Soon, Benjamin was in his suit.
Looking in the mirror, it felt like he was staring at a stranger, his gaze darkening.
Outside, the emcee's voice echoed.
After the opening, thunderous applause erupted.
The emcee said some formal words, then announced, "Let's welcome the groom, the president of the Harrington Group, Mr. Harrington!"
The lounge door opened, and the spotlight hit the room.
Under everyone's gaze, Benjamin walked out step by step.
The spotlight followed him, but only he knew how heavy each step felt.
On stage, he saw the beautiful decorations and the shy Isabella. In that moment, he felt an urge to leave.
He felt his life and marriage weren't supposed to be like this.
At that moment, his phone vibrated in his pocket.
Sensing something amiss, he glanced at the guests, then took out his phone. It was a call from the bodyguard he had sent to protect Sarah.
'What happened?' he thought.
His heart tightened, and he quickly answered.
"What happened?" he asked.
The bodyguard's voice was urgent. "Mr. Harrington, we saw Ms. Miller leave, but it seems she used two cars. One is her usual car, but the other also seems to be hers. We split up to follow them but lost both."
Benjamin imagined the chaos, feeling a vein throb on his forehead. "Useless! And then?"
He trusted his bodyguards. If they had simply lost her, they would have found her by now.
Since they called, there must be more.
The bodyguard quickly added, "We checked the surveillance footage. Besides us, someone else was following Ms. Miller. It looked like the person you showed us before."
Benjamin's pupils contracted. Asa!
He had worried that Asa, who had changed his name, would harm Sarah again, so he had sent bodyguards and shown them Asa's information, instructing them to be vigilant.
But now, they had lost her, and Asa was nowhere to be found too!
Benjamin's heart pounded in trepidation, and then, it felt like itstopped for a second.
If something happened to Sarah, he couldn't imagine what he would do!
