Chapter 210 Did Sarah leave again?!
As Antonio spoke, he leaned down and passionately embraced her, and the air grew warmer with the ambiguity between them.
Looking into his fiery eyes, two rosy clouds appeared on Sarah's face.
"Alright, don't— Mmh!"
Just as the atmosphere heated up, the sound of a maid knocking on the door came. "Mr. Valencia, dinner is ready."
Sarah quickly freed herself from Antonio's embrace and fixed her zipper, raising her voice in response, "Alright, we'll be right there!"
Antonio gritted his teeth, enduring the burning desire within him.
After a while, he held Sarah's hand, and they proceeded downstairs together.
Ryan had recovered a lot and had been discharged from the hospital. Seeing Sarah and Antonio reconciling, he and Harper were in a very good mood, even eating more than usual.
After helping the children finish their washing, Sarah was about to return to her room when a maid blocked her way.
Sarah looked at her curiously and asked, "Is there something you need?"
"Madam, I would like to take a day off tomorrow to visit the graves of my family," the maid said.
Sarah was puzzled. "Why don't you just tell Antonio directly?"
The maid smiled and said, "Mr. Valencia's intention is that since you are the head of the household, you have the final say in all villa affairs."
Hearing the maid's words, Sarah couldn't help but feel a hint of sweetness in her heart. Antonio was sincere in wanting to build a home with her.
Sarah nodded. "Alright, I approve your leave."
The maid thanked her repeatedly and left, but Sarah appeared somewhat melancholic.
After a while, she took out her phone and opened the calendar app, staring at it blankly for a long time.
Visiting cemetery?
It seemed like tomorrow was also the day she should visit the cemetery.
…
The next morning, Antonio woke up and found Sarah was nowhere to be seen.
Numerous bad thoughts immediately crossed Antonio's mind.
'Could it be that she left again?!'
But when he calmed down, he realized that the children were still at home.
Antonio furrowed his brows and quickly stopped a maid. "Where is Madam?"
Anxiety was evident in his eyes.
The servant was slightly surprised by Antonio's uncharacteristic behavior and answered dutifully, "Madam left early this morning."
"Where did she go?"
The maid shook her head. "Madam didn't say."
A heavy mist of seriousness swirled in Antonio's obsidian-like eyes, and he immediately called Sarah.
The phone rang for a long time without an answer.
Just as Antonio was about to impulsively search the entire city, Sarah finally dialed back.
His gaze sharpened, and he immediately answered the call, "Where are you?"
No one knew how anxious he was, even fearing that she had left secretly and that their words meant nothing after they reconciled...
On the other end of the phone, Sarah remained silent.
Antonio felt a sudden jolt in his heart, and his expression turned grave.
Could she be… Did she really leave?
Antonio clenched his fist around the phone, his knuckles turning white.
Thankfully, Sarah finally said, "Today is the anniversary of my mother's passing, and I'm at the cemetery."
The anger in Antonio's heart was instantly extinguished. He held onto the phone, remaining silent.
"Alright, I understand. Wait for me there. I'll be there soon."
After ending the call, Antonio quickly drove towards the cemetery.
…
From a distance, he spotted a familiar figure and approached with cautious steps, his heart heavy. As he drew nearer, he gently laid a bouquet of flowers in front of the tombstone, a gesture of quiet remembrance.
Antonio's heart tightened with emotion. Sarah's sorrow was palpable. Sniffling, she uttered, "You came."
After speaking, she turned her head aside, not wanting Antonio to sense her melancholic emotions.
Antonio didn't ask further questions. He simply held Sarah's delicate hand with his warm palm, offering comfort through a gentle squeeze.
"Next time you come to pay respects, let me know, and I'll accompany you."
Sarah's lips tightened, feeling her eyes grow even more teary.
Antonio pulled her into his embrace without hesitation. "Sarah, you still have me."
The warmth of his skin seeped through their clothes, providing a touch of comfort to her saddened heart.
Antonio patted her head and suddenly spoke, "Mom, I am Sarah's husband. We came here to visit you together."
Sarah smiled and added, "Mom, his name is Antonio. We got married. I'm sorry for not visiting you for so long."
As she spoke, a sense of guilt welled up within her. She hadn't come back to visit her mother in the past five years, and she felt remorseful for being an unfilial daughter.
She couldn't help but stare at the photo on the tombstone, memories gradually resurfacing in her mind...
"You know, when my mother was alive, she was exceptionally gentle with me. She always saved the best for me, respected all my decisions, and supported me unconditionally from behind..."
She reminisced, speaking almost to herself, her voice choking with emotions.
Antonio frowned and gently patted her back, silently comforting her. Under his wordless solace, her mood slightly eased, and she took a deep breath.
"At that time, I was always looking forward to growing up. I wanted to earn money and take care of my mother, bringing her happiness and repaying her love. But before I could grow up, she was gone..."
She continued sharing her past with Antonio, her shoulders trembling slightly.
He was the only person she was willing to confide in.
"As long as you're living well now, Mom will surely rest in peace. Don't be too sad. She wouldn't want you to dwell on painful memories of the past."
Antonio knew that Sarah had fallen into a spiral of emotions from the past. He patiently comforted her, pulling her closer into his embrace.
She nodded reluctantly, understanding that the departed had passed away and she shouldn't dwell in sorrow. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself.
Upon seeing that Sarah's eyes no longer held the same sadness as before, Antonio's tense nerves relaxed slightly.
Suddenly, Sarah asked, "Do you still remember Lisa?"
