Chapter 448 Should We Forgive Him?
Victor wasn't a complete fool. Perhaps he had been afraid of encountering any danger, so he had a hidden folder on his phone containing a recorded conversation.
The fact that he had hidden it so well surely meant there was an unknown secret behind it!
Brian opened the recording and heard a crackling sound amidst the noise. Along with the noise, Victor's voice came through.
"I told you, you little... No matter... Me..."
"Victor, my... money... fed to the dogs..."
Brian sighed as he realized the hacker must have also found the hidden file. Their skills were lacking, as they hadn't fully erased it, leaving behind this brief but authentic conversation.
"The sporadic sound makes it difficult to pinpoint the voices, but one thing is clear: the individual behind it is a woman. This helps narrow down the suspect pool," Brian concluded.
Antonio sighed; the disturbance caused by this recording was significant. He could barely make out Victor's voice, let alone the unidentified female voice in the recorded conversation with Sarah, who was trying to find her biological father.
"Repairing this recording will take some time." Brian copied the recording onto his computer. "I'll inform you when I have any updates, but don't be impatient. The other party is skilled too, and I need to crack it."
Antonio snapped back to reality. "You can fix this?"
Brian shrugged. "Well, it's not a particularly difficult task."
Being in constant contact with such things, it was no problem for him.
Antonio proudly smiled and playfully tousled Brian's hair. "My son is amazing."
Brian had initially intended to dodge his hand, but strangely, his body didn't resist, as if his rationality hadn't even put up a fight.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, he cleared his throat and took out a pile of documents from the drawer.
These were the properties he had left in the study before dinner, providing an opportunity for Antonio to make a selection.
"Take a look and let me know which one you like," Brian said.
Antonio paused, surprised to see that the documents showcased luxurious mansions from around the world, each with a hefty price tag.
"Brian, are you planning to move? Don't you find it comfortable living here?" he asked, puzzled.
"No, I quite like it here, and Mommy and my siblings do too," he replied honestly.
Antonio placed the documents back down and looked at Brian curiously. "Then why choose houses? I thought you were planning to move overseas again."
But he said, "These are the ones I have preliminarily selected. Take a careful look at them. Whichever one you like, I will bring you detailed information. Once it's confirmed, I will buy it for you."
Antonio was stunned for a moment. "Brian, are you saying you want to give me a house?"
Brian nodded solemnly. "Yes, now that I've acknowledged you as my dad and I'm providing Mommy with a house, it's only fair that I offer you one as well. I'm not a biased person."
Suddenly, Antonio burst into laughter. The way Brian acted was truly amusing to him. "Daddy has many houses and doesn't need this. If you like it, Daddy can give it to you too."
Brian was a little puzzled.
Antonio quickly explained when he noticed Brian's confusion, "Brian, from now on, this home belongs to both of us. You just enjoy your own life and don't worry about anything else. And as for these gifts, Daddy should be the one giving them to you. You should learn to rely on your parents, okay?"
Brian's eyebrows gradually relaxed, and he understood Antonio's meaning.
Indeed, he now had a dad, and everything was different from before. Thus, he nodded, "Alright then, it's getting late. Let's go to bed early. Goodnight, Dad."
"Goodnight, son." Antonio watched Brian go back to his room and couldn't help but laugh to himself as he put away those property documents in the drawer.
The following morning, Sarah awoke to find that Antonio had already prepared breakfast. Despite his recent absence from company affairs, today demanded his presence at work. He anticipated a towering stack of files awaiting him on his desk, prompting him to rise earlier than usual.
Sarah said, "Since you're busy today, let me take care of breakfast. Why make yourself work so hard? The kids haven't woken up yet."
"Your stomach still hurts. How could I let you touch cold water? By the way, are you feeling better today?"
She smiled. "You're silly. Our home has a water heater, doesn't it?"
Then she nodded. "Thanks to Mr. Valencia's care, my stomach doesn't hurt anymore."
Antonio really liked it when she referred to this place as "our home", so he happily went up to her and gave her a peck. "Then you should eat something first. I've already informed the nanny, and they can heat it up for the kids after they wake up."
During the meal, Antonio brought up the incident of Brian giving him a house last night. "You didn't see it, but our son has the aura of a CEO. He's not like ordinary people. He truly inherited my genes. But I'm still a little curious. Why would Brian give me a house out of the blue?"
Sarah also laughed. "You clueless person, when you receive a gift, it's obviously because he likes you. This is an act of goodwill towards you."
"Goodwill?"
"Yes, Brian feels deeply sorry for his previous misunderstandings towards you and for his excessive actions. He now realizes that all the misunderstandings have been resolved, and he wants to make it up to you."
Upon uncovering Brian's true identity, he obediently confessed to all his transgressions against Antonio while concealed within the Valencia family.
Sarah felt both amused and angry. She understood her son's desire to protect her, yet found his methods excessive. Fortunately, nothing serious happened; otherwise, she would regret it for the rest of her life.
"I have also taught my son a lesson. He will never do such things again. What do you think? Should we forgive him for his past mistakes?"
