Chapter 837 Ryan Snitches
"Don't meddle in women's affairs. Since she's decided to work at the Valencia Group, just treat her like any other subordinate. Why make things so complicated?"
"But..."
"No buts." Sarah knew what he was thinking and gave him a sidelong glance. "Can you stop overthinking? It's not like Isabella can't live without you. She might find someone more suitable for her soon. Or do you have other thoughts?"
"Of course not! You're the only one in my heart!"
Sarah got goosebumps from his words but couldn't help but smile a little.
Antonio was about to say something when his phone suddenly rang.
He thought it was work-related, gave Sarah a helpless look, and walked aside to answer the call, only to find it was Ryan.
The kids never called during work hours. Could something have happened?
Antonio quickly answered, "Ryan, what's up?"
"Is my dad with you?" Ryan's young voice sounded cautious.
Antonio glanced towards the meeting room, thinking Ryan was looking for Francis, and said, "He's not with me, but if you need him, I can go get him."
"No-no need!" Ryan hurriedly denied, "I'm not looking for him. I... I just have something to tell you, but I don't want him to know."
"What is it?"
"Dad..."
Antonio heard the crying tone in his voice and his brows furrowed.
After Ryan stammered through his explanation, Antonio's eyes darkened as he looked towards the meeting room, lost in thought.
"I understand. Be careful at home. If anything happens, call the bodyguard. You can call me anytime."
After hanging up, Antonio stood there for a while before returning to the meeting room. "Francis, are you feeling better?"
Francis had calmed down and looked at him, "Much better. Let's continue."
Antonio's gaze lingered on his gentle face for a few seconds before he looked at the others, "Let's continue the meeting."
The problematic supplier was a subsidiary of the Valencia Group, and the materials they provided had issues, forcing the project to pause.
"Even if we need to investigate the truth, the project can't just stop. Are we going to let the recent investment go to waste?"
"Exactly, but the question is, how do we proceed with the project?"
This was why they hadn't concluded earlier.
Both sides were whispering, each holding their ground.
InnovaTech Solutions just wanted to use this as an excuse to ask for more money, but before Antonio could speak, another executive denied it.
"Both Mr. Valencias are here. Aren't you afraid of asking for too much?"
Repeatedly asking for money, as if the Valencia Group had endless funds?
Willard Watson from the other side was momentarily speechless and looked a bit embarrassed. "Mr. Valencia, what do you think? How should we resolve this?"
Antonio's long fingers tapped rhythmically on the table, making the atmosphere in the meeting room increasingly tense. Just when everyone thought he was about to speak, he turned to Francis. "Francis, how do you think we should handle this?"
All eyes turned to Francis.
Francis didn't expect Antonio to ask him suddenly.
Was it his imagination, or did Antonio's gaze have some deeper meaning?
Seeing him lost in thought, Antonio gently reminded him, "Francis?"
"Yes." Francis refocused, "Actually, there are two best solutions. One is to switch suppliers and continue the project, pausing all business of the Valencia Group's subsidiary until we investigate internally."
"As for the second solution." He glanced at the people from InnovaTech Solutions, "Not all the raw materials are bad, right?"
"Our company can send specialists to inspect and sort out the unusable materials, allowing the project to continue while we investigate."
Both solutions were feasible.
Antonio's deep gaze fell on Francis, whose face remained calm, speaking from the Valencia Group's perspective without any issues.
People whispered, praising Francis.
Something flashed in Antonio's eyes.
Francis sensed his gaze, feeling that strange sensation again.
Francis thought for a moment and said, "This is just my immature idea. Antonio, what do you think we should do?"
Antonio paused, then lazily leaned back, "Since this is Francis's project, it's up to you to decide how to handle it. I have no objections."
With those light words, Antonio threw the problem back at him.
Francis was momentarily stunned, not knowing how to react.
He thought that since Antonio was back at the company, he would make all the decisions, and Francis would just offer suggestions. Why was he being asked to decide?
"Antonio, this is a big issue. You should decide. I..."
"Francis."
Antonio's deep eyes met his, full of trust and perhaps a hint of probing, "I trust you as much as I trust myself. Since this project is yours, you'll handle everything from now on. I won't interfere, so go ahead and do it boldly."
Francis pressed his lips together, momentarily speechless.
The people from InnovaTech Solutions exchanged glances, realizing they wouldn't get any benefits, and gave up, "Alright, Mr. Valencia, handle it as you see fit. We'll fully cooperate. Advancing the project is the priority."
After all, for them, partnering with the Valencia Group promised immeasurable future benefits.
Others also chimed in, expressing their trust in Francis's abilities to handle the project well.
Francis lowered his eyes, hiding his thoughts, and after a moment, looked up with a humble smile, "Thank you all for your trust. I'll take responsibility for this matter and will draft a detailed plan shortly."
After the meeting, everyone left the room, leaving the two brothers alone.
Francis looked at Antonio, who was sitting with his hands crossed, and joked, "Antonio, did you come back just to slack off?"
"Yes." Antonio smiled too, "Francis, I've been managing the company for years. Now that you're back, I need to spend time with Sarah, right?"
As he spoke, he seemed to remember something and snapped his fingers. "Right, I should leave everything to you."
"What?"
