Chapter 599 Stealing DNA
The man's aura grew even colder, thinking about how his emotions had been manipulated by that mother and son duo all night, making him increasingly displeased. He didn't say a word and strode back to his room.
Isabella was secretly happy, thinking that the child had left and Benjamin had returned. Could she finally implement her plan for some alone time with him?
But just as she took two steps forward, she saw the man close the door. Following that was the sound of the door being locked from the inside.
Isabella was puzzled, completely unaware of what Benjamin had gone through just to buy some medicine. Why was he so angry?
Outside the suite, Sarah waited for a while and finally saw her son. But no matter how she looked at him, she felt that he had a guilty look on his face.
"Ethan?" She reached out to stop him, and asked, "Did something happen?"
Ethan had been paying attention to the sounds behind him, afraid that Benjamin would catch up, and hadn't noticed his mom at the door. Hearing her voice suddenly, he was startled but also relieved.
"Mom!" He suppressed his wildly beating heart, and remarked, "Nothing happened. Benjamin and Isabella are going to rest. Mom, let's go back quickly!"
He then grabbed his mom's hand and quickly returned to their room.
Sarah felt that something was off with Ethan, but when she looked closely at his expression, she didn't find anything unusual. Suspiciously, she asked, "Ethan, are you hiding something from me?"
"No," Ethan said as he carefully tucked the toothbrush in his pocket, making sure it wouldn't be exposed, and then sat down nonchalantly. "Why would I hide anything from you, Mom?"
The matter of stealing DNA should be kept from Mom for now. Once he got the results, presenting the report to her would be a huge surprise.
Sarah hung up her coat, fiddled with her cuffs, and walked to the sofa, half-believing and half-doubting, staring at Ethan. This little guy often did unexpected things. "Then why did you go to their room?" she asked.
Ethan looked sincere, and replied, "I didn't do anything."
His eyes flickered slightly as he hugged Sarah's arm, saying, "I was just watching a video about airplane models and couldn't figure something out, so I wanted to ask Benjamin."
"Why didn't you come to me?" Sarah asked,
Ethan replied, "Benjamin is a man; he would understand better."
Ethan said matter-of-factly, looking a bit scared that his mom might be angry, "If it makes you unhappy, I won't go next time."
Seeing her son being so cautious, Sarah felt a pang of heartache and sighed, "I'm not angry, but next time you have to tell me first. Otherwise, I'll worry, okay?"
Like tonight, when the child suddenly interrupted them, it was quite inappropriate. Especially after the little incident with Benjamin tonight. Sarah felt complicated and thought it would be better to keep some distance for now.
Ethan glanced at her secretly, thinking that his mom had believed his story, and obediently said, "I understand."
Sarah tapped his nose, and suggested, "You should sleep with me. I don't feel comfortable with you sleeping alone."
Sleep with you? No way!
Ethan shook his head vigorously and pulled away from Sarah, refusing, "How can I back out before even starting? I can definitely sleep alone!"
The key point was, if he stayed with his mom, how could he carry out his plan?
"You should rest early! I'm going to wash up and sleep too! Goodnight, Mom!" Ethan said and quickly ran towards the door, afraid of being caught.
Sarah got up and followed him, seeing Ethan so determined, she didn't want to be too overbearing. She loudly reminded him, "Sleep early, and come to me if you need anything!"
The sound of the door closing and Ethan's voice came together, saying, "Got it!"
She smiled helplessly and turned to go to bed.
In the nearby suite, Isabella watched as Benjamin locked the inner room door. After standing there for a while, she reluctantly left. It seemed that nothing could happen with Benjamin tonight. Maybe next time, there will still be a chance.
Isabella sighed silently, got up, and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth before bed, only to find her toothbrush missing. She was puzzled, searching the sink and even looking on the floor, but the toothbrush was nowhere to be found, leaving only a blue one.
She liked blue, so when preparing the toothbrushes, she left the blue one for Benjamin. If she had known, she would have bought a couple more. Who would have thought a toothbrush could disappear for no reason?
Logically, they had just checked in, and the staff wouldn't have come in to clean during dinner. It was really strange.
Isabella bit her lip, annoyed, and turned on the faucet, deciding to use the hotel's toothbrush.
Just after brushing her teeth, she heard a knock on the door. Opening it, she saw Ethan had returned, and she frowned in frustration. What was with this kid? He had run off without a word and now came back so late, full of energy.
Isabella asked patiently, "Do you need something?"
Ethan blinked cutely, "Isabella, I want to see Benjamin."
He looked not only cute but also a bit pitiful. Isabella hadn't had a good day and was already a bit impatient, but she couldn't lose her temper with a child. "Can't you tell me?"
Ethan nervously grabbed his clothes, "I need to talk to him. Can you call Benjamin for me?"
His persistence annoyed Isabella. She had been looking forward to a surprise with Benjamin, only to be coldly rejected. If Sarah had kept an eye on her son, her plan might have succeeded!
Isabella said, "No. Go back."
Ethan was puzzled, "Why?"
"Because Benjamin is in a bad mood." Isabella's expression was indifferent, and said, "You won't see him tonight, so go to bed early."
Ethan didn't understand why Isabella suddenly changed her attitude. He looked down, appearing very disappointed, but was thinking of another plan.
Was Benjamin really in a bad mood, or did Isabella not want him to see Benjamin?
Isabella had made herself clear, but the little guy still wouldn't leave. She took a deep breath, "Go back, or you'll disturb Benjamin, and he'll get angry. He hates being woken up and can be very scary when he's mad. You'll cry."
Ethan finally understood that Isabella was definitely in a bad mood, whether Benjamin was or not. Just as he was about to speak, he heard the door open behind him and steady footsteps approaching.
Benjamin had heard the commotion and came to check. Seeing Ethan again, he was a bit surprised. His expression softened, and he squatted down to ask, "Why are you here again?"
