Chapter 602 Didn't Seek Out Benjamin

Sarah turned her head stiffly, her eyes filled with disbelief.

What did he just say?

Wife?

She instinctively wanted to retort, but when her eyes flickered to the man who had been hitting on her, she swallowed her words. Her heart was pounding.

After all, Benjamin was helping her out of a tight spot.

The man was also quite surprised. He looked Benjamin up and down. From his attire and demeanor, it was clear he was someone of high status.

He chuckled awkwardly, "I was just joking, sir. Please don't take it personally."

This man had been in the business world long enough to know who he couldn't afford to offend, and Benjamin was clearly out of his league.

He retreated while smiling apologetically, "I wish you both happiness. I won't disturb you any longer."

With that, he ran off, afraid Benjamin would trouble him further.

The path suddenly became quiet, leaving just the two of them.

Sarah quickly stepped out of Benjamin's embrace, unsure where to look. She asked awkwardly, "Are you out for a walk too? Thanks for helping me out just now."

The man who had hit on her didn't seem easy to deal with. If Benjamin hadn't shown up, she might have had a hard time shaking him off.

Benjamin glanced at her slightly red earlobe, feeling unexpectedly pleased. He smiled and said, "Yes, out for a walk. Why are you walking alone in such a secluded place?"

He didn't mention calling her 'wife' earlier.

Sarah thought to herself. It wasn't like she wanted this to happen.

She kicked the ground lightly, feeling a bit guilty, and mumbled, "I didn't expect to run into such a creepy guy."

Benjamin noticed her small movements out of the corner of his eye and was about to speak when Isabella's surprised voice came from behind, asking, "What are you two doing?"

Isabella had seen their interaction from a distance. Although she hadn't heard their conversation, Benjamin's natural and harmonious embrace of Sarah looked like something they had done countless times.

If she hadn't seen Benjamin from the window and decided to come out for a 'coincidental' meeting, she wouldn't have discovered how close they were in her absence.

Isabella walked closer, her hand in her pocket clenching tightly as if that was the only way to ease the pain and resentment in her heart.

Sarah instinctively glanced at Benjamin. The man's face was expressionless, standing there calmly.

She felt a bit awkward and greeted with a smile, "Are you out for a walk too? I didn't expect everyone to have the same idea. We should have come out together."

Isabella shot her a meaningful look and walked directly to Benjamin, standing by his side.

Isabella stated, "I'm not out for a walk; I'm here to find my fiancé."

Her smile was gentle, but her words and gaze were full of territorial claims. Isabella suggested, "Sarah, you woke up quite early. Next time, if you want someone to walk with, you can look for me."

In other words, Sarah should look for something other than Benjamin.

Sarah wanted to explain but then realized that she and Benjamin had just coincidentally met, and there wouldn't be many more chances to be alone together. There was no need to explain.

She smiled and replied, "Nah, I'll pass. I wouldn't dream of competing with you for Benjamin. You two should stick together."

With that, she politely nodded to the two of them, and said, "I'll go back and check on the kids. You two enjoy your walk. See you later."

She then turned and walked back to the hotel.

Benjamin furrowed his brow slightly, keeping his gaze on her until she vanished from sight, then shifted his attention.

Isabella asked, "Benjamin, do you still want to walk?"

Isabella's voice had a hint of caution. She was worried the man might be angry, but fortunately, Benjamin didn't react strongly.

He said indifferently, "Let's go back. We need to inspect the mountains later."

He subtly withdrew his arm from Isabella's grasp and walked away. Isabella stood there, stunned, her previous thoughts even more confirmed. She bit her lip, the resentment in her chest growing unbearable.

What did Sarah have that I don't?

She was his fiancé. Even if she had deceived him in their past, she had always tried her best to win his favor. She deserved to be rewarded.

Isabella took a deep breath and clenched and unclenched her fist, trying to contain her frustration before hurrying after him. "Benjamin, wait for me a few minutes," she said to him.

When Sarah returned to her room, breakfast hadn't been delivered yet. She went to get it herself. As she entered the room, Ethan emerged from the bathroom, having just brushed his teeth.

Ethan greeted, "You're back."

Sarah replied, "Yes, I brought you breakfast."

Sarah placed the bag on the table, teasing him, "Did you even hear me this morning? You were sleeping like a log."

Ethan replied, "Good morning."

Ethan opened the bag, watching Sarah's expression. Luckily, she didn't seem to have noticed Benjamin.

His smile brightened, and said, "I stayed up late last night. It won't happen again."

Sarah affectionately patted his head, not blaming him.

After all, they were on vacation; sleeping in was no big deal. Sarah instructed, "Get dressed. We're going to inspect the mountains later, and you're coming too."

Ethan nodded, but his mind was racing. Inspecting the mountains was work; he wouldn't be needed.

It's better to stay behind and give Sarah and Benjamin a chance to be alone.

Meanwhile, in the other room, Benjamin had gone to his room after returning. Isabella sat in the living room, glancing towards his room. Since returning, Benjamin hadn't said a word to her.

Was it because of what she said to Sarah?

Isabella's face went pale at the thought. She knew she had to find a way to solidify her position in Benjamin's heart, and fast.

If she felt unwell during the mountain inspection, Benjamin, her fiancé, would likely stay with her. With the hotel practically empty, it would be a perfect opportunity.

Just then, Benjamin emerged from his room, spotting Isabella curled up on the sofa, clutching her abdomen.

He walked over, and asked, "What's wrong?"
