Chapter 37 Antonio and Sarah Are About to Kiss
Antonio grabbed her hand, still chill as ever. "Hold the cue like this. You're gripping it too tight. Relax."
Sarah had to follow his lead, trying to move away, but his big hand gripped hers tightly.
"Good, now bend over," Antonio said, leaning in and guiding her down.
Sarah was caught off guard, their bodies pressing tight against each other. She wanted to bolt, but the table was right there, trapping her.
"Get off me!"
"What are you thinking?" Antonio shot back.
His warm breath tickled her ear, making her shiver. His words made her blush even more.
What did he mean by asking what she was thinking? He was the one being all touchy-feely!
"I don't wanna lose, so listen up."
Antonio's voice was gentle but firm. Sarah felt trapped, wishing it would end so she could get away from him.
Feeling all kinds of awkward, Sarah tried to keep her back from touching Antonio. Suddenly, he let go of one hand and grabbed her waist.
Sarah stiffened, trying to shake off his hand. "What are you doing!"
"Don't move. Keep your hands on the cue and spread your legs a bit."
Antonio's tone was firm, like he was teaching her pool, but something felt off.
Across the room, Ares had a smirk on his face, holding the female attendant and watching the scene unfold, his eyes darting between them.
Meanwhile, Harper's eyes sparkled as she watched.
From her angle, Antonio and Sarah were so close it looked like they were about to kiss.
She clasped her hands together, hoping they would!
Sarah felt like a puppet, Antonio's warm breath in her ear, her back pressed against his solid chest. She gritted her teeth and endured, missing the mischievous glint in Antonio's eyes.
Antonio asked, "Ready?"
Sarah said, "Yeah."
The next second, the white ball was struck.
Sarah tensed up, her eyes following the ball until it sank into the pocket, and she finally relaxed.
Harper clapped enthusiastically, but the game wasn't over yet.
The pressure on her back returned.
Antonio said, "This time, hit from this side. You're too tense, relax. Don't hit this ball too hard. Why's your hand shaking?"
Under Antonio's guidance, Sarah pocketed several balls in a row, and victory was in sight. Finally, only one ball remained!
It was almost over; she just needed to hold on a little longer!
Sarah gritted her teeth, letting him guide her one last time. But this shot was tricky, with the opponent's ball perfectly blocking the way. She thought she might lose this round.
Antonio stayed cool as a cucumber, guiding her and striking the ball without a second thought.
The pool hall went dead silent, everyone's eyes glued to the table. Sarah's ball curved around the opponent's and sank right into the pocket!
"Oh my God! That was awesome!" Harper clapped, totally amazed.
Ares was caught off guard by Sarah's skills. After a moment, he burst out laughing. "Didn't think you two would make such a killer team. A deal's a deal, my shares are yours!"
Antonio stayed chill, still rocking that high-and-mighty vibe. He turned to Sarah, a charming smile on his lips. "You won. Congrats, you're now a shareholder of this estate."
Sarah whipped her head around to look at Antonio, her face full of shock!
What did he just say? Was he for real?
Ares was just as stunned, his jaw practically hitting the floor.
After the game, Sarah bolted to the restroom.
With a tense face, she rushed in and stared at herself in the mirror, her face embarrassingly red.
Her mind was racing with thoughts of Antonio's broad, solid chest, his warm breath, and the feel of his hand.
Antonio was such a shameless flirt, using pool as an excuse to get all touchy!
Thinking about what just happened, Sarah turned the water on full blast and splashed her face with cold water over and over.
The cool water slowly took away the heat from her face and washed away some of her embarrassment and anger.
Once she calmed down, she dried her face and headed back. As she rounded a corner, she heard a very familiar name.
"What do you plan to do about Brady?"
Sarah's steps halted. Brady?
At the end of the hallway, she saw Antonio and Ares standing there, both looking serious, a far cry from their earlier playful selves.
Realizing they were talking about Brady, Sarah quickly ducked behind the wall to eavesdrop.
Ares had lost his earlier carefree attitude, his hands in his pockets, his expression indifferent. "Antonio, I don't believe you'd hurt him. When Sarah passed, Brady thought you pushed her over the edge and lost it seeking payback. Even after he stabbed you and you landed in the hospital, you didn't rat him out."
He paused before adding, "And now, you won't let him go to prison, will you?"
Antonio leaned against the window, his face dark, his gaze intense.
Hearing this, Sarah frowned, shocked that Brady had done something so reckless back then.
Antonio said, "Whether he's guilty or not, the law will decide."
With that, Antonio turned to leave, his gaze inadvertently sweeping towards the corner where Sarah was hiding, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes.
