Chapter 515 Antonio, the Sick Freak!

Could he stop shaking?
It was deep into autumn, and he hadn't even covered himself with a blanket.
Sarah looked at him with furrowed brows for a long time. She gazed at Antonio's cheeks, which had lost so much weight in such a short time, and at his dark under-eye circles. Eventually, she asked a servant to bring a new blanket.
A little while later, Antonio woke up.
The servant was just packing up his things to make room for Mr. Valencia and said with a smile upon seeing him awaken, "Mr. Valencia, you’re up! Mrs. Valencia just asked me to find you a blanket."
Antonio was stunned for a moment. It wasn't a dream after all—Sarah really did come to see him!
He excitedly got out of bed, his face beaming with a brilliant smile.
"Where is Mrs. Valencia?"
The servant pointed toward the yard, "Mrs. Valencia is watering the flowers in the yard; she told me to tell you... Hey, Mr. Valencia!"
After watching Antonio hurry away, the servant clicked his tongue without finishing his sentence, "She told me to tell you that you should leave once you're awake, hey!"
But Antonio had already dashed out of the room and was heading straight for that graceful figure in the garden.
"Sarah, good morni—"
Slap!
Antonio was stopped in his tracks by a slap across his face.
Sarah was also startled.
That slap was purely reflexive.
She was watering her flowers peacefully when suddenly a shadow loomed over her, so, instinctively, she swung her hand.
"Are you sick?" Sarah said, annoyed as she put down the watering can and intended to return to her room.
Antonio hurriedly stopped her and tenderly examined her palm, "Honey, did you hurt your hand?"
Sarah didn't expect Antonio to ask such a thing. Where did this shameless man learn to act like this?
Irritated, she snapped, "No!"
To her surprise, Antonio actually laughed, "Good, I thought so too. Otherwise, how could I not feel any pain? Honey, it seems you can't bear to hit me hard."
Sarah's brows knitted tightly together. What was going on with Antonio?
Ever since learning the truth about what happened on that snowy mountain years ago, he had changed.
No, to be precise, he’d become more sycophantic than ever before.
"Can't you act normal?!" Sarah was irritated but couldn’t bring herself to get angry.
To be honest, since both of them realized they were each other's companions on that snowy mountain, Sarah felt somewhat awkward.
Besides her obsessive hatred for Antonio; she started feeling something else.
As for what it was... Sarah couldn't be bothered to think about it.
But she was sure that she could not possibly forgive this man's previous violent and coercive behaviors anytime soon!
Disgusting freak!
Yet Antonio behaved very docilely, "Fine, I’ll listen to you."
He followed Sarah around with puppy eyes, wishing he could even accompany her to the restroom. There was no use in scolding or hitting him now; Antonio was determined to stick to Sarah.
Only when there was an essential meeting at Valencia Inc. that required the CEO’s presence did Antonio reluctantly leave.
Actually, Antonio didn't want to go either, but Sarah provoked him by calling him a freeloader and a loser.
Angered by that, Antonio couldn’t allow his wife to have such an impression of him.
He quickly changed clothes and went off to show his prowess at the company.
Before he left, Antonio hugged Sarah, whispering, "I'll be back soon. Wait for me at home and don’t go anywhere."
Sarah pretended to hit him again, "Get lost."
Antonio shamelessly presented his face, "Go ahead, hit me if it makes you happy."
But with him acting like this, Sarah couldn't bring herself to let her slap land.
The next second, Antonio took advantage of the close distance, planting a quick kiss on her face before sprinting away.
After stealing a kiss, he ran off quickly, leaving Sarah standing there with her veins popping in frustration.
Antonio had barely been gone for two minutes when numerous bodyguards surrounded the Century Garden villa.
Knowing it was better to be cautious, Sarah didn't ask questions and went back to check on Kevin.
While looking at her sleeping father, some of the irritation in her brow eased.
Thank goodness she was still in time for her to perform her filial duties and take care of her father.
Sarah couldn’t bear to imagine what would have happened had she not discovered the secret of the bracelet and unveiled Serene's conspiracy. Wouldn't they have spent their whole lives being manipulated?
If only her mother were still here, then their family would be complete.
Thinking about this, Sarah couldn’t help but feel puzzled. Why had her mother chosen to hide her identity and leave her own family years ago?
Her father had mentioned before that her mother was a lady from a wealthy family and that the family’s influence was substantial.
Given that, could she possibly trace this clue to find her mother’s family and uncover the truth?
With this in mind, Sarah immediately got in touch with Alex and asked him to help her out.
After some time, Alex sent over the information he had gathered, and Sarah fell into deep thought.
Years ago, Isabella was born into the prosperous Miller family.
The Millers had been in the shipping business for generations, and by the time it came to Isabella’s generation, although the family fortune was significant, it had started to show signs of decline.
Isabella's father was brave but was lacking in business acumen; he had no talent for trade.
Isabella, on the other hand, was quite accomplished, excelling in both academics and intelligence among her peers.
Unfortunately, the Miller family held traditional views on gender roles, favoring sons over daughters.
Even though Isabella was an only child, her father refused to entrust the company to her, preferring to rely on distant relatives and in-laws instead.
Isabella repeatedly suggested changing the company's strategy, but her father was stubborn and disagreed, even thinking that Isabella was being unreasonable.
After many disputes between father and daughter, Isabella lost interest in managing the company and planned to start her own business with her team.
However, just then, her father suddenly proposed an arranged marriage to save the Miller family's business.
Naturally, Isabella objected.
With her ambition, dreams, and capabilities, how could she agree to her family's arrangements and marry a man she had never met?
Because of this, Isabella's father locked her at home, obstinately agreeing to the arranged marriage with the other family.
With no choice left, Isabella pried open a window and jumped from the third floor of the villa.
The arranged marriage was the catalyst that prompted Isabella to run away from home, but it also made her decisively cut ties with the Miller family, which was a family where people did nothing but exploit and hold disdain for each other.
The Millers were in the south, so she took her savings, changed her name, and headed north.
On her way, she happened upon Kevin, who was still a university student.
As Janet, she quickly fell in love with Kevin.
Even though Kevin was just a poor boy at the time, Isabella chose to be with him without looking back. They secretly vowed to start a business together.
The company they founded was the precursor to SK Group, the initial form of what SK Group would become.
But later, for reasons unknown, after Kevin had landed a big contract and their life seemed to be getting better and better, Isabella suddenly disappeared, leaving only a breakup letter behind.
When she left, Sarah was growing inside her.
