Chapter 900 Where Was Her Child?
That night, Alex and Sofia checked into the hotel and brought the kids along to sleep.
Sarah and Antonio stayed at the hospital with Ryan.
The night enveloped the entire hospital, passing in silence.
Early the next morning, a nurse rushed into the room without even knocking, exclaiming, "Mr. Valencia, Mrs. Valencia, something terrible has happened! The child, the child is missing!"
Antonio was the first to open his eyes. After a moment of confusion, he processed the nurse's words and jumped up.
His eyes flashed with sharpness, "What did you say?"
The nurse, feeling the pressure of his gaze, still mustered the courage to speak. "Your daughter is missing."
Sarah, just waking up, heard this and couldn't even react. Her blood seemed to stop flowing, as if she were still trapped in a nightmare.
She trembled, her voice tight, "What... what kind of joke is this?"
When they checked yesterday, the child was fine!
What was wrong with these people, saying such irresponsible things?
Antonio squeezed Sarah's hand and turned to shout, "Explain yourself!"
The nurse, terrified, had no choice but to continue. "We don't know exactly what happened. This morning, when I went for the routine check, I found that your... your child was gone, and the incubator was missing too."
With each word, Antonio's face grew darker.
Antonio's oppressive aura made it hard to breathe.
"Don't worry, the head nurse has already informed the director. We will definitely find the child."
Sarah felt cold all over, her heart aching as if nailed to the spot, her mind repeating one phrase: Her and Antonio's daughter, Eden, was missing.
"What nonsense are you talking about? How could my child be missing? She was just born a few days ago! I need to see her!" Sarah's eyes turned red with extreme agitation, her pupils dilating, and cold sweat breaking out all over her body.
How could Eden be missing? That was impossible! She needed to see her immediately!
But as soon as she took two steps, her numb legs gave out, and she collapsed.
Antonio's eyes were bloodshot, but in this situation, he could only suppress his emotions, "Sarah, calm down!"
"Calm down for what?" Tears fell from Sarah's eyes unconsciously, her limbs growing heavier, and even breathing became difficult. "Didn't you hear? She's talking nonsense! She said our child is missing!"
"Antonio, take me to see her! We need to tell her that Sofia gave her a new name."
Sarah, almost crawling, ran with Antonio to the incubator room they had visited yesterday.
Through the large glass, Sarah immediately saw an empty spot among the neatly arranged incubators.
There were many small children, each with a happy family behind them, but Sarah's child was missing.
At that moment, the director and two doctors arrived, looking apologetic. "Mr. Valencia, we are truly sorry."
Antonio's temple veins bulged, his jaw muscles twitching, "Speak!"
"We checked the surveillance, even the cameras around the hospital, but found nothing unusual. The child seems to have vanished into thin air. We don't know who took the child." The director, sweating profusely, dared not speak further.
Such an incident was inexcusable for the hospital. Especially considering Antonio's significant status.
"But rest assured, we have called the police. They will surely find clues soon!"
"That's bullshit!" Sarah's face twisted in madness, her hormones surging to the peak.
She could taste blood in her mouth. "How could my child disappear! You can't even handle this, what kind of hospital are you running? You should all die!"
She had lost all reason.
Seeing her like this was like a dagger to Antonio's heart. It hurt too much.
Antonio also shed tears, "Sarah, let's calm down, okay? Calm down, I will find out what happened and bring the child back, trust me!"
His eyes felt like they would burst.
"Bring back what!" Sarah's world collapsed upon hearing those words. "My child was fine in the incubator!"
She was held by Antonio, but as soon as she finished speaking, she tried to run out.
But she hadn't taken a step before collapsing to the ground.
At that moment, everyone noticed the large bloodstain on her hospital gown.
Antonio's breath caught, and then he roared, "What are you standing there for? Save her!"
The doctors and nurses snapped into action, rushing Sarah to the emergency room.
Less than a week after giving birth, Sarah was hemorrhaging. The situation was critical.
The medical staff was on edge; if Sarah had any complications after the child disappeared, the hospital might as well shut down!
Despite their efforts, Sarah was given a critical condition notice.
After signing the papers, Antonio felt drained of all strength.
The child was missing, and Sarah was in critical condition.
He felt cold, as if the world had frozen over. Could his heart ever warm again?
The police came once, and Antonio, like a walking corpse, cooperated with the questioning, but there was no news of the missing child.
He kept telling himself that he couldn't fall!
If he fell, Sarah would be done for, and so would the family.
When Sofia arrived after hearing the news, she saw Antonio slumped outside the emergency room, shrouded in a dark cloud.
Antonio's despair and collapse were palpable from a distance.
She quickened her pace, shouting, "Antonio!"
Antonio looked up at the sound, his face aged and weary.
"How's Sarah?" Sofia asked.
He glanced at the emergency room behind him, saying nothing.
Sofia's heart ached; she feared Antonio would break down. She deliberately shouted, "Can you pull yourself together? Sarah is already like this, if you don't, what about Eden?"
"You haven't even held her properly yet!"
"Sarah has suffered so much, if she survives this, do you want her to be hurt again?"
"Antonio, do you hear me!"
Antonio suddenly stood up, his eyes cold and sharp, his voice trembling, "I need to stay at the hospital. Please take care of the three kids for now, and don't tell them yet."
Sofia's eyes welled up, but she sighed in relief, "Okay, don't worry."
Antonio said nothing more, his eyes dark with pain.
Who could have taken Eden?
No one could have guessed that Eden was taken by people sent by Guadalupe.
