Chapter 152 Don't Let Him Discover the Children's Identities
Meanwhile, Lisa was still searching for the two of them like a headless fly.
Ryan continued to follow her, worried and silently praying in his heart, Brother and sister, please run away quickly. Go find your mommy or Daddy, and stay safe..."
Just as he was thinking this, the two little figures suddenly appeared ahead.
Lisa quickly caught up, but they didn't run much farther before they suddenly slowed down.
Lisa smirked triumphantly, mocking them in her mind, Can't run anymore, can you? I knew it. Why waste the effort?
Seeing this, Ryan couldn't help but gasp in shock. Oh no! Mommy is going to catch them
Amidst everything else, he felt compelled to lend a hand! Just as Ryan brimmed with anxiety and readiness, he witnessed the two children vanish again, one darting off in each direction at the crossroad.
In the ensuing moment, a spectacle unfolded that left Ryan gaping, his hand instinctively rising to cover his mouth.
Lisa dashed towards the intersection, only to lose control of her body in the next instant, careening forward uncontrollably! Inertia propelled her quite a distance, her handbag, and high heels flinging even farther away. Her skirt then flipped up, exposing her skin to the open air.
Lisa was instantly overcome with shock and panic. She hastily tugged her skirt down, but the damage was done. Thanks to Harper's earlier loud outcry, nearby bystanders had already become alert to the possibility of children being harassed and had congregated.
Yet, no one could have foreseen such a ludicrous scene; murmurs and pointed fingers rippled through the crowd.
"Who's that person? They fell so miserably!"
"No matter who she is, she deserves it. She was bullying two little children, after all."
"I saw it, too. She was really fierce just now."
"Now she's getting her just desserts..."
As soon as these words were spoken, the onlookers burst into laughter.
Lisa spat out grass angrily from her mouth, her face flushed with both anger and embarrassment despite the pale foundation attempting to conceal it. Her body ached, rendering her unable to rise immediately. She was forced to endure the taunts and mockery while lying on the ground.
Damn it! I actually got played by those two bastards!
Lisa had been under the impression the two children couldn't run anymore, so she hadn't even thought as she quickened her pace to catch them. But when she reached the intersection, something like a rope tripped her feet. However, she clearly didn't see anything!
At that moment, Lisa was already surrounded by the crowd, unable to see Ethan outside the crowd, calmly playing with his yo-yo in his hand.
"Great success! The evil woman fell so miserably, hahaha!" Harper was laughing so hard that tears formed at the corners of his eyes.
After laughing for a while, Harper took a few deep breaths and happily clapped his hands. "Ethan, you are so smart and amazing. You came up with such a great plan!"
Thanks to Ethan's brilliant idea, they were able to teach that evil woman a lesson. It was so funny to see her trip and fly away!
Ethan chuckled smugly, then effortlessly retrieved the yo-yo with a flick of his wrist.
"Alright, let's head back quickly, or Mommy will start worrying," Ethan said, flashing a doting smile at Harper as he took her hand and led her back.
As Lisa struggled to lift herself up, the onlookers gradually dispersed. Raising her head, she spotted two figures in the distance.
With an air of arrogance, Ethan walked hand in hand with Harper, who happily skipped beside him. Their demeanor seemed to trample on Lisa's dignity.
With a fierce glare, Lisa seethed with anger. Her eyes twitched, and she clenched her fists tightly, grasping onto the grass beneath her.
I swear, I'll personally deal with those two brats! Sarah needs to feel the pain of losing her children! I am the only one truly suited for Antonio!
…
Meanwhile, the conversation in the room had finished, and Sarah and Alex bid farewell to the lawyer.
Alex noticed that Sarah's complexion still looked off and guessed that she was still worried. He gently placed his hand on Sarah's shoulder and comforted her softly, "Emily is one of the top divorce lawyers overseas. Even if Antonio's influence is great, it is limited to New York. It won't affect Emily. So, there's no need to worry too much. There won't be any problems with this lawsuit."
In fact, Sarah was telling herself the same thing inwardly. Emily was different from the previous lawyer. This time, she would be able to divorce smoothly.
But she still had lingering worries, and her heart couldn't help but race. She didn't believe that Antonio would be easily defeated.
If any unexpected situation arose again, what could she do to fight against Antonio...
Alex still kept his gaze on Sarah and saw her frown deepen. He let out a barely audible sigh.
He believed in Emily's ability. As long as they followed the proper legal procedures, they would definitely win the lawsuit.
However, it had to be based on one thing—Antonio must not discover that the children were his own.
With this in mind, Alex's expression turned serious as he cautioned, "Sarah, as long as Antonio doesn't discover the true identity of the children before the divorce procedures conclude, you'll successfully get divorced and have no further ties to him."
Upon hearing this, Sarah nodded, her eyes filled with seriousness and determination. She didn't want Antonio to ever know about their children's identity in her lifetime.
Unfortunately, she didn't realize that things would ultimately go against her wishes...
