Chapter 957 Did She Do Something Wrong?
                    "I didn't!"
Mary's face flushed, but she couldn't think of a comeback.
"How about we get some wine?"
Sofia turned to call a waiter, ordering a bottle of wine. She grabbed Mary's hand and said, "Let's figure out a plan to win over Timothy!"
The three of them headed to a private hot spring room. Before long, the waiter brought over two bottles of sweet red wine, which tasted pretty good. Mary couldn't help but have a few more glasses.
Sarah was cautious, sipping slowly. Watching the other two get more and more animated, she laughed and said, "Weren't we supposed to come up with a plan? Don't drink too much."
"You don't get it," Sofia said, clinking glasses with her again. "One must finish their drink before attending to business properly."
Mary seemed to catch on, downing her wine in one gulp. Staring at the empty glass, she murmured, "I don't even know what's going on with him. It feels like no matter what I try, it doesn't work. I've tried... but..."
But he didn't love her.
Just thinking about it made her heart ache.
"There are no buts !" Sofia cupped her face in her hands. "You're beautiful, sweet, and adorable. What's not to like? He has no reason not to like you."
Mary bit her lip, saying nothing.
"Exactly," Sarah nodded in agreement. "And I can clearly see that Dr. Reed treats you differently, Mary. Don't underestimate yourself."
"That's because he feels responsible for me."
"Can you stop overthinking?"
Sofia pinched her cheek. "None of that matters. The important thing is, do you like him? If you do, then take action!"
"Yeah!" Sofia laughed. "Don't be fooled by how good things seem between Alex and me now that we're married. He didn't like me at first. So, I used a little trick, slept with him, and after a few times, he couldn't live without me. He even traveled far to find me, afraid I'd marry someone else!"
Talking about it now, Sofia's tone was playful, showing how confused she was back then, just like Mary was now, constantly worrying.
Sarah laughed along with her.
"Yeah, it's unbelievable, but that was how their relationship started."
Mary listened, stunned. Maybe it was the alcohol, but she felt a bit tempted.
"Really... can it work like that?"
"Of course!" Sofia assured her confidently. "That's how feelings develop over time. It's the modern age; girls can bravely pursue their happiness, too. Even if it doesn't work out in the end, you won't have any regrets in your youth. At least you can be with the person you like!"
That made so much sense!
Mary blinked, her flushed face looking dazed as she seriously considered Sofia's words.
"Since we're talking about it, why not give it a try?!"
Sofia's eyes suddenly lit up, turning to Sarah with a knowing look. "I brought a new nightgown. Should we give it to Mary?"
Sarah laughed and held her forehead. "It still depends on Mary. This isn't a small matter..."
Relationships between men and women sometimes need a little push. Sofia firmly believed this, raising an eyebrow and asking, "Mary, do you want to try?"
Mary stared at them for a while, her heartbeat quickening. Suddenly, she seemed to make up her mind and nodded firmly. "Let's do it!"
She went back to the room with Sofia. Seeing the nightgown, her already red face turned even redder. "Sofia... this, this..."
It was so sexy!
"What's the big deal? It covers all the important parts."
Sofia pushed her to change. "You have such a great figure, Dr. Reed won't be able to resist!"
Mary clutched the nightgown, finally gritting her teeth and changing into it. She fixed her hair in the mirror, took a deep breath, and gathered her courage to walk to Timothy's room.
Her mind was foggy, feeling like the path ahead was shrouded in mist, but her heart was crystal clear.
So what if he didn't like her?
Even if he didn't, she was still his legitimate wife!
They were married. Are they supposed to be a fake couple forever?
Unless Timothy wanted a divorce in the future... but she can fight for it, not giving him the chance to ask for a divorce!
The more Mary thought about it, the more determined she became. Her heart raced, needing an outlet.
Finally reaching the door, she cleared her throat seriously and knocked. "Timothy... are you asleep?"
After a moment, the door opened, revealing a stranger.
"Who are you looking for?"
Mary was stunned. "You..."
'Where's Timothy?!'
'Isn't this Timothy's room?'
Mary's expression froze. After a while, she hugged herself and checked the room number.
Wrong...
Timothy's room was next door!!
So stupid!
Her face turned red instantly. She backed away, apologizing, "I'm... I'm sorry! I went to the wrong room. I'm really sorry!"
The man was taken aback, his interested gaze lingering on her with a fiery look. "Since you're here, why not make friends?"
Mary shook her head repeatedly, not having time to respond before the door next to them suddenly opened. Timothy, tall and imposing, stepped out.
She breathed a sigh of relief. "Timothy..."
Timothy's gaze lingered on her for a few seconds. Seeing her unusual attire, his eyes turned cold. He quickly took off his jacket and draped it over her.
Timothy looked up, addressing the man next door with a stern voice. "Are you sure you want to make friends with my wife?"
The man laughed awkwardly and retreated into his room.
The hallway suddenly fell silent. Mary lost her previous courage, reaching out to tug on Timothy's sleeve. "...Timothy."
He looked so scary right now!
Was he mad at her?
Timothy was indeed furious, not expecting Mary to be so bold, dressing like this in the middle of the night!
And knocking on another man's door, being seen from head to toe by another man!
What was she thinking?
His chest heaved heavily, feeling blocked. After a while, he spoke in a deep voice, "Dressed like this, what do you want?"
"I..."
I wanted you to see!
Mary lowered her head, but all her courage had been used up when she knocked on the wrong door. Now, she only felt shame and nervousness.
And regret.
Did she make a mistake?
