Chapter 295 I'll Go Find Him Myself!
Upon their return home, Brian was discovered in the living room, engrossed in reports on his tablet. He was on the verge of initiating a discussion with Alex when Sarah and Antonio made their entrance. A flicker of surprise momentarily lit up Brian's eyes.
"What brings the two of you here together?" he queried.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?" Sarah retorted, approaching Brian with a stern expression. "I need to know, what is this 'Exquisite Encounter' all about?"
Brian's gaze darted between Antonio and Sarah, unsure of how to respond. He couldn't possibly reveal his intentions of finding a new partner for his mother in Antonio's presence. Despite the minimal impact of his confession, he knew it would anger his mother, so he had to be considerate of her feelings.
Brian found himself in a quandary, feeling that no response would be appropriate. Just as he was grappling with his predicament, an unexpected savior appeared.
"Harper, Ethan, I've come to see you!" Alex announced, ringing the doorbell while carrying a large bucket of ice cream.
Brian heaved a sigh of relief and hurried to open the door. "Uncle Alex, you're finally here."
Antonio had intended to confront Alex, but upon seeing him at the door, he wasted no time in questioning him.
"Alex, you better have a good explanation, or I won't let you off easily," he threatened, his gaze piercing through Alex.
Alex was momentarily taken aback by Antonio's words, clueless about his accusations.
Sarah quickly intervened. "Antonio, let him be. Let's have a proper conversation."
Antonio coldly snorted and dismissed Alex. "I can talk to him properly, but he must give me a satisfactory explanation."
Sarah sighed, "Alex, today Ethan took me to a matchmaking event called the Exquisite Encounter.' Do you know anything about it?"
It was then that Alex realized what was happening. It was all about this matter, but how could Antonio have known? It was Brian's plan, so there was no way Antonio would be privy to it.
"So, you agreed? I didn't expect you to be so audacious," Antonio remarked, interpreting Alex's expression as an admission of his involvement.
"Don't start with me. If you have an issue, confront me directly. Why involve Sarah?"
Antonio's agitation escalated, and the veins on his face bulged. He had been struggling to contain his anger due to Alex's repeated provocations.
Meanwhile, Alex, still confused by Antonio's accusations, had no idea what he was talking about.
Sarah quickly intervened again. "Antonio, let him be. Let's discuss this calmly."
Antonio coldly snorted and dismissed Alex. "I can talk to him properly, but he must give me a satisfactory explanation."
Sarah sighed, "Alex, today Ethan took me to a matchmaking event called the 'Exquisite Encounter.' Do you know anything about it?"
It was then that Alex understood. It turned out that this matter was related to Ethan, but how could Antonio have known? It was Brian's idea, so there was no way Antonio would be privy to it.
"Did you agree to it? You really dare to do as you please," Antonio said, realizing from Alex's expression that he must be involved in this matter.
"Never mind, let's not talk about such a big event. Even if it's just information about all those men, it's not something Ethan could find on his own."
Sarah also became serious. "Alex, please explain to me what exactly is going on."
Alex glanced helplessly at Brian standing by, who responded with a slight smile. He understood that he was the one who had to shoulder the blame.
"Alex, if you don't explain everything clearly today, I promise you won't leave so easily," Antonio threatened, stepping forward with a chilling aura, as if he could explode at any moment.
Alex felt cornered.
"I... I'm sorry, but this is our CEO's order, and I had no choice," Alex said, trying to maintain his composure. "This is also a gift from our CEO to Sarah."
Brian looked at Alex, speechless. What kind of excuse was that? How could this be considered a gift?
Antonio was even more dumbfounded. He had scolded Alex with foul language, expecting some answers. How could Alex’s CEO be so involved in an employee's friend's personal matters?
Sarah also felt helpless. Although she had received various gifts from this unseen boss who had helped her a lot, did he really have to arrange something like this for her?
Moreover, she was married now and had three children. What on earth did this boss want?
"I'm truly sorry, Mr. Valencia, but there are benefits to getting to know each other more," Alex continued to smile, pushing all the blame onto his boss.
"What the hell are the benefits?" Antonio couldn't contain his anger, swearing. "Who the hell is your boss?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Valencia, but I really can't disclose this matter. My boss never appears in public," Alex responded, thinking to himself, ‘Who else could it be? Your son, perhaps?’
Antonio didn't waste any more words and directly dialed James' number on his phone. "Find out for me, who is Alex's boss? I want all his information."
James on the other end of the phone felt helpless. "Chairman, I've already checked on the day of the children's birthday, but there really is no news. Can you give me some more time?"
"Useless!" Antonio's emotions were about to explode.
Alex’s boss repeatedly interfered in his and Sarah's lives. What was his intention?
Brian, watching Antonio in a towering rage, felt a little schadenfreude. ‘Dream on! You’ll never figure out my identity!’
Antonio stared at Alex for a few seconds, and his anger slowly subsided into calmness.
"It's alright. Since we can't find out domestically, I'll go abroad to find him myself."
"What!" Brian couldn't help but exclaim, then quickly reacted. "You're going abroad? What about the family?"
"I have your mom and you at home, I'm at ease," Antonio ruffled Ethan's head. "I won't be gone for long; I'll come back as soon as I find Alex’s boss."
With that, Antonio immediately had James book the earliest flight abroad.
He quickly made up his mind to meet Alex’s boss.
‘I can't believe it! Why can’t I find this mysterious CEO?’
