Chapter 780 Am I Handsome or Is Timothy Handsome?
Without expecting it could be such a coincidence, Antonio immediately tensed up and smiled at the young nurse. "Oh? With such serious injuries, he must have had an accident, right?"
The young nurse, confused by his smile, quickly replied, "Yes! Dr. Wheeler worked for a long time to save his life. I heard he's a construction worker. It's quite sad. He's over seventy and still working on a construction site, and then this happened."
Antonio paused. "Oh? A worker over seventy? How did your hospital find out?"
"Haha, you're funny. His coworkers told us when they brought him in!"
Thinking he may overthink this, Antonio replied, "Oh, I see."
He initially suspected that this person might be Harold, not considering that if an ordinary person got injured, someone would indeed bring them to the hospital and their basic information would be recorded.
However, Antonio raised an eyebrow. "Since he has coworkers, why did Dr. Reed have to cover his medical expenses?"
"They're all workers and don't have money. This guy's injuries are severe, and it would take hundreds of thousands of dollars to save his life. After his coworkers brought him in, they all ran off and never came back. This guy seems to be single; it's been two days, and no one has come to see him or contacted any family."
As they talked, they walked towards the ward where the patient with the broken leg was.
By now, they had reached the ward's door.
Because the patient had been rushed out for emergency treatment, the door was left open in a hurry.
Antonio had good eyesight and immediately saw the name tag at the foot of the empty bed: "Frank Campbell".
It was indeed a very common name. Maybe it was just a coincidence.
Antonio exhaled slowly and asked, "Dr. Wheeler must be very skilled to save someone with such serious injuries."
The young nurse giggled. "Yes, Dr. Wheeler is a very good person, very upright, but also kind-hearted. Two days ago, he even argued with Dr. Reed about who would pay the medical expenses."
Antonio smiled slightly and said no more.
At that moment, his phone rang. It was a message from Sarah.
Antonio quickly put aside his thoughts and hurried to Sarah's ward.
Just two days ago, when he went to capture Harold, Sarah was fine. But when he returned, he found that Sarah was back in the hospital, saying that the baby was unstable.
Antonio's emotions almost broke. How could nothing go smoothly these past few days?
But no matter what, with Harold still out there, the most important thing for him was to take care of Sarah.
When he returned to Sarah's ward and opened the door, he saw her standing by the window, flipping through a comic book.
The wind blew in through the window, lifting her hair and making her look even more gentle and lovely.
Hearing the noise, she shifted her attention from the comic to the door. When she saw Antonio, she instinctively smiled. "You're back? What did you talk about with Dr. Reed for so long?"
It had been a full hour since he went to Timothy's office.
The two of them had similar personalities, both unusually quiet.
She couldn't believe Antonio could chat with Timothy for an hour.
Antonio didn't answer her question first. Instead, he took off his coat and draped it over her, his handsome brows furrowed, and his thin lips pressed together in displeasure. "Why are you out of bed? And letting the wind blow on you? Have you forgotten how bad it feels to take medicine?"
Wrapped tightly in his coat, Sarah wrinkled her nose in discomfort.
The hospital had given her some bitter medicine, and taking it felt like torture every time.
"It's not as serious as you say. The sun is out today, so I opened the window. Besides, I'm really fine now. It was just that night when the baby got a bit startled. I've been lying here for two days, and I'm already better." She didn't think she was that fragile.
"You're just too nervous and overthinking things." Sarah felt both sweet and helpless, letting Antonio hold her in his arms.
"Sarah, should I transfer you to another hospital?" After staring at her for a moment, Antonio suddenly spoke.
Sarah was stunned and a bit confused. "Transfer hospitals? Why?"
Cynthia, Mary, and Timothy were all here. Why should she leave?
Antonio felt a strange sensation in his heart as he looked into her brown eyes. He still had a chip in his body, and to save himself, he needed surgery, which would take an unknown amount of time and effort.
Most importantly, he didn't know what the future held.
He was afraid that his luck would be so bad that he would lose again.
So before the surgery was successful, he hadn't planned to tell Sarah.
And since he needed to have the surgery in Timothy's place, he should send Sarah away first; otherwise, how could he keep it from her?
But at this moment, being stared at by her clear eyes, Antonio felt all his secrets were exposed.
He reached out and hugged her, avoiding her eyes. "Dr. Reed is so handsome, and you get to see him every day. I'm jealous, okay?"
Sarah couldn't help but laugh. "Antonio, are you dreaming? How can you say such childish things? Besides, aren't you afraid that if we transfer to a new hospital, there might be an even more handsome doctor? Then it would be a loss for you."
Sarah didn't take his suggestion seriously, thinking he was just being playful.
She also knew that Harold hadn't been found yet, and Antonio must be under a lot of pressure.
So Sarah was willing to joke with him, to help ease his tension.
Antonio also smiled, knowing he didn't have a convincing reason at the moment. He had to think of another way.
So he furrowed his brows and pretended to be angry. "Alright, you didn't deny that Dr. Reed is handsome. Do you spend all day looking at him? Do you even remember what I look like?"
Sarah burst into laughter. "If I said Dr. Reed isn't handsome, Mary would be the first to disagree!"
Antonio laughed along with her.
Sarah then reached out and hugged him back, snuggling against him without saying anything more.
She couldn't help but feel that Antonio seemed more down than usual today.
She could only attribute it all to Harold.
"Antonio, don't worry too much. Didn't you say Harold was seriously injured? Even if he crawled out of the tunnel, he might not survive. He could be dead in some bushes somewhere, and no one would know. Don't wear yourself out, okay?" As soon as she finished speaking, she noticed Antonio's grip on her tighten.
Antonio felt a deep bitterness.
If it weren't for the chip in his body, he could completely agree with Sarah.
In Harold's current state, he had no ability to resist, and Antonio could take his time dealing with him.
But the most disgusting part was that Harold, the bastard, had planned everything from the start!
He had to get that chip out and survive!
