Chapter 907 We Should Never Interact Again
Antonio's eyes were fixed on the black and white soccer ball, his lips trembling slightly. After a while, he finally spoke in a hoarse voice, "No, it's not a prank. This is for me."
It was Francis!
When they were kids, they had an identical soccer ball and their favorite thing was to play soccer in the nearby park!
Francis knew he would recognize it immediately. If someone else had received this package, they wouldn't understand the message behind it, so he chose this way to notify him.
James picked up the soccer ball and, seeing the restrained expression on Antonio's face, asked worriedly, "Mr. Valencia, are you okay?"
"No, I'm fine!" Antonio's voice trembled a bit, but he finally showed his first smile in a long time. Taking the soccer ball from James, he said, "You should head back to the office. I'll call you if I need anything."
Finally, something good had happened!
Francis wanted to tell him in this way that he was really alive, doing well, and had settled down!
Sarah was right; all of this was indeed part of Francis's plan!
It seemed that Francis still couldn't show his face now. Once Guadalupe completely dropped his suspicions, Francis would definitely find a chance to come back and meet them!
Antonio finally felt relieved. He then thought that Sarah would be very happy to hear this news!
He immediately took the soccer ball upstairs, ready to tell Sarah. Would hearing this news help her regain her memory? Or should he tell her gradually and saw how it went?
But when he walked into the ward, there was no one there.
Antonio suddenly panicked, "Sarah!"
He ran out of the ward in a panic and bumped into a passing nurse. "Excuse me! Have you seen the patient from this ward?"
The nurse did have some impression, "Mrs. Valencia?"
"Yes! That's her! Where did she go?"
"I think I saw her go out just now. Mr. Valencia, maybe you should go look for her."
Antonio didn't say anything more and immediately turned and ran outside.
Sarah's body hadn't fully recovered yet. She usually wouldn't leave the hospital building. Why did she suddenly run out today? Was her memory getting confused again?
Antonio didn't dare to think of more possibilities. He just hoped to find her quickly and avoid any more accidents!
He quickly searched the garden but didn't see her! No one else had seen her either!
Her body was still so weak. Where could she have gone?
Antonio was extremely anxious. As he ran out of the hospital, he called James, "Sarah is missing. Bring people to the hospital immediately. Even if we have to search all of Northwest Ridge, we must find Sarah!"
After hearing a response from the other end, he hung up decisively.
"Sarah!" Antonio forced himself to stay calm, his red eyes constantly scanning the crowd. Cars passed by on the busy street, and countless faces brushed past him, but none of them were hers!
As he turned a corner, he finally saw Sarah not far ahead.
Antonio panted heavily, wanting to call out but afraid of scaring her.
He slowed his pace and approached her bit by bit.
Sarah looked thin and lost, not knowing what she was thinking. She didn't even notice when she stepped on something.
It wasn't until she almost bumped into a signpost that Antonio reflexively pulled her into his arms, "Sarah, watch out!"
The familiar scent made Sarah freeze.
She didn't expect Antonio to be following her! "Antonio! Get away from me!"
"Sarah."
"Don't call my name!" Sarah pushed him away with all her strength, her face red with anger and fear, trembling as if on the verge of collapse, "What do you want? Do you really not want to see me happy?"
"I..." Antonio's heart ached, and he reached out to her, "I just want to be by your side. You're sick now, but I know you'll get better. Please, let's go back, okay?"
"I don't need you!" Sarah's head started to hurt again, as if it was about to explode!
She pointed at Antonio's long legs, "Don't come any closer! Or I'll call the cops!"
"Don't come near me! Get lost!"
Antonio looked at her out-of-control state, his deep eyes filled with pain, "Okay, calm down. I won't come closer. Just calm down, okay?"
He raised his hands in the air and slowly backed away.
Sweat was already forming on Sarah's forehead, her hair damp, and her chest heaving violently.
She didn't know what was wrong with her.
She only knew that whenever she saw Antonio, memories of the past would flood her mind, and every cell in her body would ache. "If you could cheat on me with Lisa and betray our marriage, then don't come back to bother me! There's something I didn't get to say to you in person, so I'll say it now. From now on, let's never see each other again. Get out of my life!"
Antonio knew she was saying this because of her memory confusion, but hearing these words still felt like a knife to his heart. "Sarah, I didn't betray our relationship. Please believe me."
Sarah wouldn't listen to a word, "I saw it with my own eyes. How could it be fake? You and Lisa, neither of you are good people! Get lost!"
Antonio was almost in despair. Nothing he said would help now, "Sarah, come back to the hospital with me. If you don't want to see me, I'll leave, but you need to get better first. Please listen to me!"
Her health was the most important thing; everything else could wait.
Sarah wanted to say something more, but then she noticed the ring on Antonio's left ring finger. It was their wedding ring.
Sarah raised her hand and saw a similar ring on her own finger!
She reached out to take it off, speaking without thinking, "Do you think we haven't finalized the divorce yet? Let's go now! Let's get divorced! I'll give you space, just please don't bother me anymore!"
It seemed that this marriage had only brought her endless torment.
"The ring, you can have it back too!"
She didn't want it anymore!
She didn't want to see anything related to Antonio ever again!
She had worn this ring for a long time. It took Sarah a while to take it off. Ignoring the hurt and pained expression on Antonio's face, she threw the ring at him and shouted, "Take it! Get lost!"
Antonio watched as the ring drew an arc in the air in front of him.
He reached out to catch it but missed.
The feeling of everything slipping out of control overwhelmed him like a tide. If he really left today, he would lose more than just a ring.
Antonio clenched his fists, using all his strength to control his emotions, and chased after the ring.
Ahead was a fast lane, with cars speeding by.
Horns blared, almost brushing against his body.
But he didn't notice, stubbornly wanting to retrieve the wedding ring. It was their wedding ring. He had finally gotten back together with Sarah; how could he lose it?
Sarah watched Antonio seriously searching for the ring on the road, feeling very conflicted.
Was he crazy? It was just a ring! What was the point of finding it?
"It's useless, Antonio. You won't find it. Even if you do, it won't matter. I'll never forgive you!"
