Chapter 540 Brothers?
Sarah was supported as she walked out of the banquet hall, clutching onto Bob's arm as if it were a lifeline.
Bob, sensing something was off, stopped with a look of concern. "Ms. Miller, did you hurt yourself somewhere else? Where does it hurt?"
Sarah's gaze was blurry as she sat down on the bench next to the parking lot, holding her forehead. "I'm fine... I can't even feel the pain in my foot now. You should go ahead and leave."
"What are you talking about!" Bob said. The sight of her in such a state made it impossible for him to leave in good conscience, so he bent down to check on her. "Let me see your foot; I'll go buy some spray for it."
Bob was known for his warm personality. Having met Sarah before he started working for Valencia Inc., he treated her with a familiarity that lacked formal respect, which Sarah didn't mind.
However, his direct attempt to touch her foot was a bit too forward.
"Really, it's not necessary!" Sarah shifted away.
Realizing her reaction might have been a bit abrupt, she sighed. "I'm truly fine... I wouldn't joke about my own health."
Sarah had chosen shoes with a modest heel that day. Despite the sharp pain of the twist initially, it gradually subsided over time. She figured a little spray when she got home would likely alleviate it.
Bob's hand froze mid-air, and then he awkwardly scratched his nose. "Alright then, if it gets worse let me know."
"Sure." Sarah gave a noncommittal reply, her thoughts in turmoil. "Just drive back to the office and look up Mr. Harrington's information for me, then email it."
Bob, unfazed by the earlier incident, pulled out his phone immediately. "Mr. Harrington's information is online."
While speaking, he had already searched and found it using an app.
Sarah took the phone he offered, still in a daze, and scrolled through the information.
Benjamin's profile was precise, with the publicly available information clearly controlled. For instance, his educational background and awards were listed, but any further details like his social connections or daily habits were conspicuously absent.
Even his twenty-plus years abroad were without a single photo. It was evident that the Harrington family had exceptionally guarded his privacy.
The only photo available was one taken at the airport when he had arrived in the city a couple of days ago.
Bob leaned in for a better look and saw Benjamin's face in a photo for the first time, and he was utterly shocked. "This... Isn't this?!"
A wry smile crossed Sarah's face. "You think he looks really similar, too, don't you? This Benjamin, he looks just... so much like him."
"Yeah, quite similar..."
Bob could see the expressions on Sarah's face from the side—sadness, nostalgia, confusion. She normally carried herself like a high-powered executive, but only when thinking about Antonio did such evident emotions spill out.
'So, Sarah's earlier lapse was all because…'
She had seen Benjamin, and he bore a striking resemblance to Antonio.
A pang of sourness surged in Bob's chest, a feeling of envy. But he also knew that Sarah, being sentimental by nature, couldn't possibly forget her former lover in such a short time.
Maybe she would never forget.
Nevertheless, Bob wasn't ready to back down. He was determined to remain by Sarah's side, patiently waiting for her to fully move on. As for whatever might transpire between him and Sarah, he decided to let it unfold naturally.
Seeing Sarah visibly upset, Bob quickly brightened up with a smile, "It's quite the coincidence... But many people in the world look alike. Let's not dwell on him.
"I know a great dessert place nearby. Since we're here, how about we go check it out?"
"I don't want to go."
Bob immediately began to exaggerate his movements, putting on a pitiful yet comical plea, "Oh, Ms. Miller... Dear Ms. Miller! I really want to go, would you please join me? As someone who cares about her staff, you wouldn't let me go alone, right?"
Sarah didn't even glance at him, continuously flipping through the material in her hands. She had combed through Benjamin's information extensively.
There were indeed no slips to be found...
After a pause, Sarah handed the phone back to Bob, feeling a rising sense of discontent bubbling inside her. She truly couldn't believe the outcome.
How could it be that two unrelated individuals could look so alike? Even those with blood ties didn't necessarily resemble each other as closely as they did in physique and facial features!
'Blood ties…' The thought struck Sarah, and she suddenly perked up with energy. 'That's right! The Valencia family adopted Antonio!'
His last name shouldn't have been Valencia.
After Lucien had brought this to light, Antonio had been downtrodden for a while, but soon he had recovered. Afterward, he never sought out his biological parents, and to this day, his origins remain a mystery.
Could it be possible that Antonio and Benjamin were actually brothers, given their startling resemblance?
