Chapter 864 Went to See Your Mistress?
Francis looked at Isabella's face in front of him, as if her bright smile had illuminated his heart, and he couldn't help but smile back.
"Mr. Valencia, I'm here." Isabella pointed to the car in front of her, "Thank you."
"Alright..." Francis's hand, hanging by his leg, tightened slightly. In the end, he did nothing but softly said, "Drive safely, see you at the office tomorrow."
"Okay, see you at the office."
He watched the car start, reverse, and then drive away in a cloud of dust.
Francis's distant eyes kept looking in that direction, and a sense of loss and bitterness welled up in his heart, making him feel a bit at a loss.
He closed his eyes heavily and murmured, "Isabella."
Since he was destined not to have her, he would carve this name deep into his heart, just as she had said, and wholeheartedly wish her well.
Francis returned to the villa, and the whole house was quiet.
Guadalupe had not come back yet.
He suddenly remembered what Roy had said earlier, that things were almost done.
Thinking of something, Francis urgently took out his phone, found the number he usually didn't even want to look at, took a deep breath, and dialed.
The phone rang twice before it was picked up, and Guadalupe's low, stern voice came through. "What is it?"
"When are you coming back?" Francis's eyes were tightly focused, "The servant has already prepared dinner."
He had never before taken the initiative to call and ask Guadalupe when he would be home.
Guadalupe was silent for a while, the oppressive atmosphere almost palpable through the phone. After about ten seconds, he finally said in a cold voice, "The Meridian Group is causing trouble, I have to go abroad, I'm heading to the airport now. Stay put and don't distract me, got it?"
As expected, Francis heard his own heart pounding violently, unable to contain his excitement.
He suppressed the accelerated heartbeat and pretended to be concerned, "Are you in such a hurry? Is it very tricky?"
Over the years, Guadalupe had managed to grow his business abroad not by staying clean but by operating in the gray areas of the law.
He could handle shady dealings so well and had significant influence in both the underworld and legitimate circles, making his name well-known locally.
But where some submitted to him, some did not.
Having been by his side for so long, Francis knew better than anyone else where the seemingly invincible Guadalupe was vulnerable and what he feared most.
So when the Meridian Group approached Francis, he did not refuse.
Their goal was to bring down Guadalupe, and Francis hoped he would fall into the mud, never to rise again, always trampled underfoot!
Guadalupe had done so many bad things, why should he live freely? And still keep Francis under his control! No one deserved to die more than Guadalupe!
Francis had been secretly plotting with the Meridian Group for so long, and now it was finally coming to fruition. How could he not be excited?
The more he thought about it, the happier he became, and a smile crept up on his lips.
And Guadalupe would never have imagined that these things would be related to Francis.
At this moment, hearing Francis's words, Guadalupe's cold voice carried a hint of contempt and a dangerous tone as if from hell. "It's just a minor issue, what do you think they can do?"
Perhaps guessing that Francis wouldn't behave, he added in a deep voice, "This is not something you should be concerned about, and don't try anything, or else..."
His unfinished words were full of threats.
Francis's eyelids twitched, and he said softly, "What can I do?"
"You better not." Guadalupe's sharp voice was full of arrogance, "But if you don't behave, I will deal with you."
His words were full of confidence, as if even if Francis did something disobedient, it would be meaningless and would only bring his wrath and punishment.
Hatred grew in Francis's heart, but he couldn't say anything in retort. Even if he was grinding his teeth, he could only comply, "Aren't all my actions under your surveillance? I can't do anything but wait for you to come back."
This successfully pleased Guadalupe.
He chuckled, "Good boy."
After the call ended, Francis maintained his previous posture for a long time, looking out the window, the hatred in his eyes rolling like a stormy sea in the darkness, hard to calm.
Antonio had no idea that Francis had gone out to see Isabella and was leisurely walking home.
Sarah had already returned to her room and, not seeing Antonio, casually asked a servant outside. "Where did Antoniogo?"
"Mrs. Valencia, a woman came to the door saying she had something to discuss with Mr. Valencia, and he went out with her."
"A woman?"
'Who would come to the house? A woman Antonio has entangled with?' She thought.
Sarah raised an eyebrow, "What did the woman look like? Has she been here before?"
The servant thought for a moment and shook her head, "This is the first time I've seen her. The woman's hair was just shoulder-length, she looked quite gentle, and she was wearing a trench coat."
That sounds a bit like Isabella. What was she here for?
Sarah waved her hand thoughtfully, "I see, you can go back to your work."
The servant had just left when Antonio's tall figure walked into the room. Seeing Sarah standing not far away with her arms crossed, he asked in confusion, "Honey, what's this about?"
Why did it feel like Sarah was waiting for him?
Sarah looked at him with a half-smile, "Done meeting your mistress?"
Antonio was silent.
He walked over, half-amused, and put his arm around her, "If I can't explain this today, are you planning to make a fuss again?"
"What are you talking about?" Sarah elbowed him in the waist, just wanting to tease him, "Wasn't she your fiancée before? Did you feel anything when she came to see you today?"
Antonio couldn't quite grasp Sarah's meaning and quickly took out a voice recorder from his pocket, "She came to see me today for a reason. Harold asked to meet her, wanting her to help him deal with me."
His tone took on a hint of sarcasm at the end. "Harold probably never thought this would backfire on him."
Sarah's teasing expression faded, and she listened to the recording, her voice turning cold, "It's a good thing the chips in your body have been removed, or wouldn't he have really succeeded in his scheme?"
"Yes."
Antonio held her hand, also feeling a sense of relief. "If it weren't for the surgery back then, maybe I really would be under Harold's control now."
Hearing this, Sarah took a deep breath, feeling a lingering fear. "Yes, your decision back then was the right one."
Thinking about it, although Antonio had kept the surgery from her, his intention was to avoid worrying her, which was not entirely unforgivable.
And fortunately, the surgery was successful in the end.
