Chapter 855 Francis Told the "Truth"
"No," Sarah answered casually, as if she had made some kind of decision. She took a deep breath and stuffed the two books in her hand into his arms. "How about this, you help me clean up the extra stuff here, and I'll be done."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Antonio was more than happy. "Give me ten minutes."
Seeing that he believed her, Sarah rolled her eyes and said, "You start cleaning up, I'll go ask the maid to find a thermometer and check if Francis's fever has gone down."
She thought about it again and still felt that this matter shouldn't be kept from Antonio. But given last night's situation, Francis must have assumed she had agreed to help.
So it wasn't appropriate for Sarah to bring it up.
She had to persuade Francis to tell him himself.
At the guest room door, Sarah raised her hand and knocked. Inside, she heard the sound of a wheelchair moving.
Francis opened the door and was momentarily stunned to see her. "Sarah, do you need something?"
"Yes." Sarah nodded affirmatively and walked right in. "Francis, I've thought about it for a long time and still think you should tell Antonio about your situation. After all, you and Guadalupe are living so close now, that it's easy for it to come out. When that happens..."
She thought about Francis and Guadalupe's relationship and felt it was a bit hard to bring up, but hiding it was never a solution.
"If he finds out accidentally, he'll be even more upset. So it's better if you tell him yourself. That way, he can help you better." Francis didn't expect her to come to persuade him about this. He was stunned for a moment and said, "Sarah, am I putting you in a difficult position?"
"Yes," Sarah spoke honestly. "He's not just your brother; he's also my husband. To be honest, and I don't mind you laughing at me, we had a big fight before because he kept something from me. I really don't want to have any more secrets with him."
The main thing was, that Francis's situation didn't seem like a small matter. What if it came out and she couldn't keep it hidden?
Antonio could be very scared when he got angry!
Seeing her troubled expression, Francis understood.
So, his words last night were indeed inconsiderate. The couple had such a good relationship, and he had asked Sarah to lietor him, which was not a good thing.
Seeing his hesitation, Sarah seized the moment and said, "Francis, you should know Antonio. He's not the kind of person you think he is. He won't change his opinion of you because of any external factors. You are his most important family member!"
These words seemed to enlighten Francis. The confusion in his eyes gradually cleared up and became more determined.
"Maybe you're right." Francis took a deep breath and looked up, his deep eyes fixed on Sarah. "Then I'll tell him everything. But Sarah, can you let me talk to him alone?"
Hearing this, Sarah felt a weight lift off her shoulders. It didn't matter who said it, as long as they didn't have to keep it from Antonio, she would feel better. "Okay, he's in the nursery right now. I'll push you over, Francis."
In the nursery, Antonio had just finished tidying up. Hearing the noise behind him, he turned and smiled. "I said I'd be done in ten minutes. I didn't lie, did I, Honey?"
"Yeah, you worked hard." Her tone was somewhat perfunctory.
Sarah exchanged a glance with Francis, then cleared her throat and said, "Well, Francis has something to talk to you about. He'll tell you himself."
Antonio sensed that something serious was up and put away his smile. "Francis, what's going on?"
Francis took a deep breath, as if making a difficult decision. "Let's talk inside."
"You two have a good talk. I'll close the door for you!" Sarah felt relieved now, seeing that Francis was really planning to come clean. She sensibly turned and left.
After this conversation, there shouldn't be any more issues.
Thinking about this, Sarah genuinely felt happy for the two brothers. It was hard enough to reunite; they shouldn't let some baseless misunderstandings create unnecessary rifts. Being together as a family was more important than anything.
Antonio and Francis talked for half an hour.
Sarah went to the kitchen and came back to find them coming out one after the other.
She jogged over. "Finished talking?"
"Yes." Francis looked much more relaxed than before. "Sarah, thank you."
"Francis, you're being too polite." Sarah shook her head with a smile. "Ryan came by earlier to check if your fever had gone down. Are you feeling better now?"
"It's almost gone. You guys talk, I'll go find Ryan."
Antonio hadn't said a word since coming out of the room, his eyes filled with a conflicted look, as if he was having a hard time accepting something.
Sarah took his hand, naturally assuming he already knew about Francis and Guadalupe's relationship. Otherwise, he wouldn't look like this.
"Did Francis tell you everything?" Sarah asked.
Antonio frowned, his voice low. "Yes."
She gently squeezed his hand, comforting him. "Don't think too much. At least Antonio is still here and healthy. As long as we deal with the current situation, he can return to a normal life. Don't you think?"
Antonio's eyes were complicated. He tightened his grip on her hand. "You knew all along?"
"Just a little before you." Sarah, afraid he would dwell on it, said softly, "Oh, that's not important. The important thing is that we can help Francis through this together. Isn't that great?"
Antonio stared at her for a while, finally smiling with relief. "Yes, it's great."
He held her hand as they walked out, feeling his heart swell with warmth. "Sarah, Francis was right. Being with you is the greatest luck of my life."
Sarah raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Francis said that to you?"
"Yes." Antonio looked at her with tenderness. "After we talked about his situation, we chatted a bit. He said you're a very qualified wife, and that the Valencia Family is incredibly lucky to have you. Coincidentally, I feel the same way."
Sarah felt a fleeting sense of oddness, but it was quickly overwhelmed by his affectionate tone. "Alright, go check on your soup."
The couple went to the kitchen together. The servant had already brought the soup out, and Francis and the kids had just come out of their rooms.
With no outsiders to disturb them, this meal truly felt like a harmonious family gathering.
"Francis, this soup isn't greasy. You can have more." Seeing that Francis wasn't eating much, Antonio personally served him a bowl of soup. "I made this especially for you."
Francis thanked him and sipped the soup. "By the way, Antonio, the weather seems nice today. How about we go for a walk after lunch?"
His eyes held a smile, with a hint of longing. "I haven't been back in years. Many places have changed."
Most importantly, Guadalupe wasn't around for once.
