Chapter 353 Sarah, Why Are You Leaving Again?
Sarah paused, even hesitating to put down her glass of water. "Antonio, what are you talking about?"
Antonio repeated with a serious expression, "I'm saying that Alex must be behind this. We can't trust him anymore."
“First, he made use of Ethan, and now he wants to tarnish my reputation with this video. This person clearly has malicious intentions."
Sarah felt a bit helpless. Why did Antonio always somehow manage to link everything to Alex?
But she couldn't tell Antonio the truth just yet...
"You're thinking too much. It wasn't Alex who did this."
Antonio didn't expect Sarah to deny it so firmly, which frustrated him. "If it wasn't him, then who else can it be?"
"There is absolutely no surveillance camera in our living room. The only electronic device with a camera function is this robot, and Alex was the one who sent this robot over to us. He also knew that we argued yesterday."
"If I'm saying it wasn't him, I truly mean it. Trust me."
Antonio made a logical argument, and Sarah couldn't refute it, so she could only continue denying it.
"If it wasn't him, then who else could it be? Could it be one of our children?"
Sarah and the children fell silent.
'Indeed…'
But she couldn't tell Antonio about this matter either. Sarah felt helpless. "Antonio, believe me, Alex didn't do this. You two have no business relationship, so he has no reason to target you.
"I promise you, please stop being suspicious. Can you do that?"
"Why do you trust him so much?" Antonio incredulously looked at Sarah. "Why do you always choose to trust other men instead of me?
"It was Asa in the past, and now Alex. Are those men always more important to you in your eyes? Have you never liked me? Have you always treated me like a fool?"
Antonio's anger was causing him to lose his composure, and he started bringing up old issues without thinking.
"Antonio, clarify your words! When have I ever treated you like a fool? Clearly, you're the one being suspicious. Are you not allowing me to speak?"
"It's obvious that other men occupy your heart. So why are you not allowing me to say that?"
Antonio blurted out those hurtful words to Sarah but immediately regretted it.
Sarah paused. "Antonio, you've finally said it. So, you've always seen me like this, huh? You never really believed in me, did you?"
Antonio calmed down. "It's not like that, Sarah. Please listen to my explanation. I didn't mean it that way."
Antonio tried to reach for Sarah's hand, but she slapped it away.
"You have already spoken the words in your heart. There's no need for an explanation."
Sarah fumed."Asa's matter isn't over yet, and you're already focusing on Alex.
"Antonio, did you truly set up the surveillance camera in the study to prevent Alex from manipulating Ethan?"
Antonio's gaze showed a bit of hurt. He had set up the surveillance camera in the study because he had overheard Alex discussing company decisions with Ethan.
As the CEO of Valencia Inc., how could he not take this matter seriously?
"Sarah, I swear, I only set up the surveillance camera in the study because I knew that Alex was deliberately involving himself in company affairs. I heard it loud and clear."
"And today? Did you find any evidence to prove that Alex sent out that video online?"
"Well... I haven't found any yet, but we still need to be cautious, don't we?" Antonio struggled to explain, feeling extremely anxious. "Besides him, no outsider is able to freely enter our home."
"Ever since you first met Alex, did you dislike him solely because of his good relationship with the children?
"Antonio, just admit it. You show hostility towards anyone of the opposite sex by my side. It's because of that inexplicable photo from years ago. You've been suspicious of me ever since. Your feelings towards me have never been pure, have they?"
Sarah left tears behind and said, "Antonio, I have nothing else to say to you now. You have chosen not to believe me, and I don't want to argue with you."
After speaking, Sarah returned to her room and slammed the door shut.
Antonio sat on the sofa, running his fingers through his hair as he scratched his head forcefully.
How had things come to this today? He had never hidden any ulterior motives from Sarah, so why wouldn't she believe him? He genuinely suspected that Alex had an issue, so why couldn't she understand?
All he desired was the safety of his wife, his children, and his family from any harm. He yearned to be with them for the rest of his life.
Sarah, who had returned to her room, wasn't feeling much better either. Tears flowed uncontrollably down her cheeks like a leaking water pipe.
She also wanted to calmly talk to Antonio, to have a peaceful conversation.
This endless cold war would not only hurt them but the children as well.
However, whenever the two of them started to confront each other, Sarah couldn't suppress her anger.
Even now, she couldn't understand why Antonio still refused to believe her.
A drone was hovering outside the window, seemingly circling the villa.
Alerted by what was outside, Sarah hid behind the curtain, looking at the journalist hiding in the bushes beneath the window.
'They even arranged for a drone. It is absurd that these journalists would intrude into our personal space in this manner. Can’t they leave us with some privacy?'
Frustrated, Sarah knew they couldn't stay here any longer. Otherwise, the secrets of the four children would eventually be exposed by them.
She immediately drew the curtains and returned to her room to continue packing her things.
As she had almost finished packing most of the items yesterday, she had few items left to pack. She only spent a few more minutes packing the remaining toiletries before leaving the room and dragging the suitcase down.
Antonio, who was pondering on how to resolve the issues between them, immediately stopped her.
"Sarah, didn't we agree not to leave? Why are you going again?"
