Chapter 815 What is it?
Sofia looked up at her and waved her hand, "Sarah, you go wait outside for a bit. I'll be done here soon."
The room was inevitably a mess while packing, and she didn't want Sarah to deal with it.
Sarah stood at the door, holding back her curiosity. Not long after, Sofia came out of the room, poured herself a glass of water, and then explained, "I'm moving. I know you guys are busy, so I planned to tell you after I finished moving."
Her eyes flickered slightly, but the smile on her face masked it.
Sarah was puzzled, "What about Alex? Why isn't he here to help you?"
"Oh, he's on a business trip. I can handle it myself. Before I met him, I always moved by myself. I'm not that fragile."
Hearing this, Sarah naturally assumed Sofia was moving in with Alex and teased, "So, your relationship is stable now. Are you planning to live together?"
Sofia's face seemed to still carry a smile, but it was as if a veil covered her true emotions.
She placed the cup on the table and said softly, "Who can say what the future holds? We're not in a rush and don't want to think about it for now."
"True." Sarah didn't think much of it and nodded in agreement, "Although Alex is really great, since you're planning to spend your life together, you need to work out some of the details in your daily life. If you notice something off about him, just correct him!"
Both of them laughed at the joke.
Sarah looked at Sofia's heavier eyelids and, feeling a bit sorry for her, pinched her face, "Sofia, what have you been up to lately? You've lost so much weight."
She didn't seem as energetic as before.
Sofia touched her face, a fleeting moment of confusion passing by, and then she smiled again, "You know me, right? I'm dieting. It took a lot of effort to lose this weight, so don't ask me to eat high-calorie stuff."
Sarah gave her a playful look, "You weren't fat to begin with. Why put yourself through this? Health is the most important thing."
"I know." Sofia's eyes flickered slightly, and she gently stroked her belly to change the subject. "Has the baby been giving you any trouble lately? If the baby makes you uncomfortable, I'll have to spank them."
Back when they were in Marshall City, Sarah had told Sofia everything in detail over the phone, so Sofia knew that Sarah and Antonio had another argument.
Sarah was amused by her serious demeanor and sat down on the couch, "Baby, did you hear that? Your godmother has high hopes for you! But the baby has been good, not causing much trouble."
"That's good."
Sarah suddenly remembered a few major events in her life recently and immediately told Sofia about Francis coming back alive.
After hearing it, Sofia raised an eyebrow and said, "Hmm, why do I have an unusual feeling? Could he be trying to get your attention?"
Sarah laughed, "How could that be?"
She was Antonio's wife, and Francis probably just hadn't socialized for too long and was a bit awkward.
They hadn't talked much when Sarah's phone suddenly rang.
She took a look; it was a call from home.
As soon as she answered, Kevin's voice came through, "Sarah, Brady can get out of bed now. The servant just helped him walk for a while. Where are you? Do you want to come back and see?"
"Really?" Sarah stood up abruptly, her excitement evident, "I'll be right back!"
After hanging up, she turned to Sofia with a face full of joy, "Sofia, I can't talk much now. Brady can get out of bed! I need to go see him!"
Sofia was genuinely happy for her and nodded, "Alright, drive safely on your way back."
"Okay!" As Sarah walked out, she reminded her, "By the way, what's your new address? Remember to send it to me. I'll bring a gift and visit you and Alex."
Sofia's expression froze for a moment, "Sure, I'll tell you once I move. Let me walk you downstairs."
When they got downstairs and Sarah was about to get in the car, Sofia suddenly called out to her. "Sarah!"
Sarah, still overjoyed about Brady standing up, couldn't help but smile as she turned around, "What's up?"
Sofia's expression was normal, but her eyes were a bit moist. She stepped forward and hugged her, "Nothing, just suddenly felt that having you as a friend is the luckiest thing in my life."
"You have to take good care of yourself. Everything will get better."
Her words sounded like a farewell.
Sarah instinctively frowned and patted her back twice. "Why are you suddenly so emotional? Is something wrong?"
"Of course not." Sofia suppressed the sour feeling in her heart, pushed back the tears in her eyes, and let go of her.
"It's just that Brady suddenly woke up, and I got a bit emotional." She pretended to be angry and glared at her, "I rarely say something heartfelt, and you don't appreciate it?"
"Alright." Sarah finally felt relieved, "Do you want to say a few more words? I love hearing them."
"No more." Sofia shook her head, "You've already ruined the mood. You should go see Brady first. I'll contact you once I'm done here."
"Okay, I'm leaving then."
Sofia smiled and waved, "Goodbye, Sarah."
Sarah was amused by her strange behavior, said goodbye, and drove away.
She drove a long way and could still see Sofia's figure in the rearview mirror. She stood there watching her leave until the car turned a corner and Sofia's figure disappeared.
Sarah chuckled and sped up to get home.
Brady's recovery was indeed going well. He had been doing physical therapy and massages every day, and now being able to walk was a significant improvement.
However, he still got tired easily. After some activity, he would need to rest in bed again.
Sarah called the family doctor for a thorough check-up.
"He's recovering very well. Keep it up, and he should be able to move normally soon." The doctor's words made everyone happy.
Sarah was overjoyed, but her good mood only lasted until the next day when she saw the package that was delivered.
