Chapter 854 Let Me Comfort You
Sarah handed it to him without hesitation, "The mask."
Harold's matter was already in the past, and there was nothing to hide about it.
Sarah explained, "You must have heard from Antonio about our past. His father Harold was watching us too closely at the time. Luckily, we had these two masks, which saved us a lot of trouble."
Francis held the two uniquely textured masks in his hands. Just by touching them, he could feel how realistic they were.
He stared in disbelief, his eyes growing redder, and his hands trembling slightly with excitement.
To think that such a thing actually existed in this world. If he had this hyperrealistic mask, the chances of his plan succeeding would greatly increase!
"Sarah, can you tell me where this came from?" Francis asked.
Sarah was taken aback by his restrained tone, wondering why Francis was so excited.
But the depth in his eyes was too complex for her to understand, so she could only say with difficulty, "I don't know exactly where it came from, but Antonio said he got it from a mysterious person."
"A mysterious person." Francis muttered the words, then suddenly looked up and said, "Sarah, this is very important to me. Can you help me?"
This was the second time Francis had asked for her help.
Sarah looked at his suppressed expression with suspicion and finally asked, "Francis, what exactly are you trying to do? Or rather, what is your plan?"
His expression froze for a moment, and he remained silent.
What he could say, he had already said last night.
Francis still held the two masks in his hands and finally said heavily, "Sarah, I already told you before, you..."
"Francis." Sarah didn't want to hear such formalities, "If you can't tell me, then I can't help you."
After all, the last time she and Antonio used this thing was to outwit Harold, and losing would have endangered their lives, so most people wouldn't want this thing.
Sarah instinctively felt that Francis's plan would be very dangerous, but since he wasn't being completely honest, she didn't want to get involved either.
Francis wanted to try again, but suddenly Antonio's puzzled voice came from the doorway, "Weren't you cleaning the room? Why are you two so close all of a sudden?"
The two people in the room were taken aback and exchanged a glance.
Sarah thought of what Francis had said last night and didn't plan to expose him now, "We just happened to come across the masks we used before, and Francis was curious, so I showed them to him."
Francis gave her a grateful look and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I didn't expect such things to exist in the world."
After saying that, he steadied himself and pretended to be very interested, "Antonio, Sarah said you got these from a mysterious person. Is that person from the country or abroad?"
Antonio walked over to Sarah and, not noticing anything unusual, casually replied, "From Southeast Asia."
The next moment, Francis pretended to be nonchalant and said, "I think this thing is quite interesting. Can you introduce me to him?"
"Well..." Antonio glanced at the mask in his hand and said with difficulty, "I only know he's from Southeast Asia, but his whereabouts are mysterious, and he has a strange temperament. Moreover, he only makes three masks a year. Even if you find him, it might not be useful because the last two slots for this year have already been used by Sarah and me."
"I see." Francis hesitated for a few seconds before saying, "That's okay. Just give me his contact information. If I get in touch, I'll just ask casually."
Feeling that he might have seemed too eager, he added with a smile, "Anyway, I have nothing to do after work. If it doesn't work out, so be it."
Hearing him say that, Antonio took out his phone from his pocket, "Alright, I'll send you the contact information."
Sarah watched his actions, wanting to say something but ultimately said nothing.
For someone like that, Antonio had to go through a lot of trouble to find. Francis had just returned to the country and definitely wouldn't let Guadalupe know, so it probably wouldn't be easy.
Since she had promised to keep it a secret for him, she decided not to say anything.
Francis looked very happy when he got the contact information. He raised the box in his hand and said, "Sarah, can I take this to study? I've never seen anything like it."
As soon as he finished speaking, Sarah felt Antonio looking at her, and she felt a bit awkward.
She forced a smile, "Well, I was planning to throw it away anyway. If you're interested, you can take it."
"Thank you, Sarah."
After Francis left the room, Antonio felt that Sarah was acting a bit strange. He gently pinched her cheek and asked, "What's wrong? Can't bear to part with the hyperrealistic mask?"
"Of course not." Sarah snapped out of it and said meaningfully, "I just think it's strange that someone as serious as Francis is so curious."
She intended to remind Antonio, but they had completely lost their usual rapport. Antonio didn't catch any other meaning, "It's normal, right? Everyone has curiosity; it's just a matter of whether they choose to control it."
Sarah rolled her eyes and continued to organize things.
Antonio felt he hadn't said anything wrong, so why did it seem like Sarah was unhappy again?
After Francis left, he wheeled himself into his old room and locked the door behind him.
Holding the two hyperrealistic masks, he no longer needed to suppress his excitement. He studied them carefully for a long time. Once he calmed down a bit, he took out his phone and called Roy.
"Mr. Valencia."
"Yes." He didn't say much and got straight to the point, "I found someone who makes hyperrealistic masks, from Southeast Asia. I'll send you the contact information later. No matter what it takes, you must find this person."
Hearing his words, Roy was momentarily stunned.
'Does this thing really exist?' Roy thought.
But since Francis said it was real, it must be, "Don't worry, Mr. Valencia. I'll get it done!"
Hearing his confident tone, Francis felt a bit more grounded, "Remember, this must be kept absolutely confidential."
"Get it."
"How's the task I assigned you last time coming along?"
"It's almost done. We should have results by tonight."
Francis breathed a sigh of relief, a satisfied smile appearing on his face, "Good, I'll be looking forward to it."
Meanwhile, Sarah had been distracted since earlier. Antonio was trying hard to get her attention, but she showed no interest. "Honey... can you give me a hint?"
"A hint about what?"
"A hint about why you're upset?"
Sarah turned her head, speechless, "I'll say it again, I'm really not upset."
But in her mind, she was wondering whether she should really not tell Antonio about Francis's situation.
Now that she knew so much, whether she helped Francis or not, she might not be able to hide the truth in the end. Wouldn't she be doing the same thing Antonio did before?
Moreover, Sarah wasn't sure what Francis was planning to do. She had a bad feeling about it.
Seeing her get lost in thought after saying just one sentence, Antonio felt even more uneasy and asked, "Are you unhappy about something? Tell me, and I'll cheer you up."
