Chapter 952 Encounter with a Handsome Guy at Night
Timothy glanced up at him but didn't say a word.
Was that a silent agreement?
Antonio raised his glass and clinked it with Timothy's. "So, what's the story with you and Mary?"
Timothy paused, his eyes fixed on his drink, as if pondering the nature of his relationship with Mary.
After a long silence, his low voice finally broke through.
"She's my wife."
Antonio raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised.
He had assumed they were just dating, but they were actually married?
"But judging by how things are now, Mary hasn't accepted you yet? Man, you've got a long road ahead. Keep at it."
Timothy swirled his glass, his gaze deep and unreadable. No one could tell what he was thinking.
Yet, the faint blush at the corner of his eyes hinted at a touch of tenderness.
In his mind, a vivid and lively face lingered.
Mary...
"Our relationship is complicated, not your typical marriage."
He was merely fulfilling his mentor's request to take care of her, and she was waiting for someone else, which he knew all too well.
Antonio shrugged. "Relationships can be complicated, but feelings are straightforward. It's either there or it's not, and whether the people involved are willing to admit it."
Coincidentally, both of them had feelings.
Timothy furrowed his brow but remained silent.
Antonio gave him a meaningful look, feeling a sense of camaraderie with Timothy's heavy mood.
He sipped his drink quietly, not wanting to disturb Timothy's thoughts.
After a while, a man suddenly approached them.
The man kept his head down, holding a bottle of liquor, his steps uneven and his voice hoarse, "Sir, interested in a drink?"
Antonio frowned and turned to look at him.
In the dim light, he couldn't make out the man's expression, but his unconventional attire suggested he was wealthy.
Antonio waved him off, signaling for him to leave.
The man hesitated, seemingly surprised by the blunt rejection.
But he quickly turned and walked away.
Antonio didn't give it much thought, had a couple more drinks with Timothy, then stood up. "I'm going to the restroom."
What he didn't expect was to be cornered by the man at the restroom door—the same man who had offered him a drink earlier!
"Sir, would you care to make my acquaintance?"
Antonio's jaw tightened, his face cold and stern.
"Move!"
The man remained unfazed, lifting his eyes to glance at Antonio. "How do you know we don't have common ground if we don't talk? How about... giving me a few minutes?"
Antonio's brow twitched, his first thought was that he was dealing with a persistent creep. Just as he clenched his fists, ready to act, the man suddenly smiled, his voice completely different from before, "Antonio, it's me."
Francis!
But Francis couldn't walk, could he?
Antonio was in disbelief, staring at the unfamiliar face, feeling his blood freeze. It took him a moment to recover, "Francis..."
"This isn't the place to talk. Follow me."
Francis led the way, his steps slightly awkward but practiced.
They reached the rooftop, surrounded by silence.
Antonio struggled to calm himself, gripping Francis's hand tightly, "Francis, when did you get back? What's going on?"
"I just got into Capital City this afternoon. I waited outside the villa, hoping to catch you. Then I saw you guys leaving, so I followed."
Francis peeled off his hyperrealistic mask, his smile tinged with emotion.
"Thanks for introducing me to the person who made this mask."
Otherwise, this journey wouldn't have been so smooth.
Antonio couldn't help but hug him tightly, his eyes moist. "I'm just glad you're okay."
Though he had kept in anonymous contact with Francis, he was still very worried. Falling from such a height, how could he be completely unscathed?
But now...
Francis had turned misfortune into fortune and was walking again!
Francis patted his shoulder twice. "Don't announce my return yet. Guadalupe is cunning and unpredictable. No one knows what he might do. Even though I'm officially dead... we need to be cautious."
If Guadalupe found out, everything would be ruined.
"Got it."
Mentioning Guadalupe, Antonio's heart was filled with hatred. "He did so much to you. One day, he'll get what he deserves!"
"Enough about him."
Francis was in high spirits and didn't want to talk about irrelevant people. "How have you guys been? Are Sarah and the kids okay?"
Antonio hesitated, deciding not to mention Eden for now.
"They're good. Ryan misses you and often talks about wanting to see you."
"Good... we'll see each other soon."
The two, having not seen each other for a long time, were very excited and ended up chatting about family matters.
Meanwhile, at the stairwell below the rooftop, a sneaky man watched them cautiously.
Afraid of being discovered, he didn't dare get too close.
What were these two doing on the rooftop in the dark?!
The man scratched his head impatiently but was satisfied with the photos he had taken. He opened his phone and reviewed them.
"The president of Harrington Group, caught pulling and supporting a man at the restroom door, then heading to the rooftop in the dark. Really makes you wonder!"
This was enough!
He smirked evilly, turning to leave while calling Bob.
"Mr. Morrison, I've got the photos... they're clear. I'll send them to your email."
Antonio and Francis were unaware, discussing everything in detail, feeling that a few words weren't enough, so they went to Francis's place and talked all night.
Sarah was completely in the dark.
The next morning, she went downstairs for water and saw Ryan and Ethan looking for Antonio to play with.
"Isn't Dad in the guest room?"
Mary slept in the master bedroom last night, so Antonio should be in the guest room.
Ryan shook his head. "Mom, we've checked all the rooms. Dad's not home."
"Okay..." Sarah nodded thoughtfully. "I'll call him."
She turned to get her phone upstairs.
Mary had just finished washing up, her fair face glowing.
"Morning, Sarah."
"Morning... By the way, Mary, did Timothy call you? I wonder where they went drinking last night. Antonio didn't come back."
"I don't think so..."
Mary paused, picked up her phone from the bed, and checked. "He didn't even text me. Did they get too drunk?"
Sarah didn't respond.
She was staring in disbelief at the news on her phone, enlarging the photo, a familiar handsome face coming into view.
It was undoubtedly Antonio.
But who was the man he was intimately with?
